why do you think the amazing anime series Bleach ended so soon?

It's a shame because the current arc that the manga is on is by far the best one of the entire series, but since the show wasn't popular enough in Japan to warrant extending it, it just isn't going to happen. It sucks, but you can always still read the manga if you need closure/want to catch up on what's left of Bleach.

Ended too Soon? LOL, It didn't end sooner.
I stopped watching Bleach after the Bound Arc.

300 Episodes is an ass long run when compared to the now standard longer anime series.
The Long standard is a 52 episodes, the standard for animes without any big companies backing it up is 13 episodes.

The current arc is one of the lowest in popularity right behind the stupid Fullbring Arc. Based on popularity polls for WSJ, Bleach is now always on the bottom 5.
2013 issue, these are the latest issues
WSJ #17-> Not included, it has a center color spread
WSJ #16-> 17
WSJ #15-> 13
WSJ #14-> 14
WSJ #13-> 14
WSJ #12-> 10

(Series that has color pages, are not included into the rankings because they're in the safe zone)

Frankly? I blame it on the filler arcs. The Thousand Year Blood War arc in the manga is still going on, and probably will for another few years. With the material currently present, chances are an anime adaptation would last about, say, 30 or so episodes, give or take. It would catch up to Kubo's work in no time, which would necessitate - you guessed it - another craptastic filler arc. Unlike other series, after the Bount arc Pierrot has made absolutely no effort to integrate the filler arcs into the main storyline. Any sense of flow is thrown out the window when the main arc is suddenly interrupted by what amounts to several months of what constitutes an insanely bad "what-if" scenario.

As far as volume sales go, Bleach is still outselling Toriko, which has been Weekly Shounen Jump's poster child for years now. And even that series has gotten canceled.

My somewhat baseless (if not logical) prediction is that they are waiting for the manga to end. That way they can wrap things up cleanly without an abundance of filler material. The closest example I can think of is Inuyasha: The Final Act, though hopefully any future Bleach anime wouldn't get the abridged treatment.

What are you talking about, Toriko is still running in WSJ, the latest issue Toriko was absent because of "reasons". But the issue before that Toriko is still running ranked above Bleach in popularity and always above Bleach.

I should have been more clear. The anime is canceled - the manga just started its new arc.

I'm pretty sure one of the possbile reasons why the anime ended was again, the anime was still too close to the manga (the manga did take a break after Aizen arc which didn't help widen the gap). Also during that time the anime was also on a filler yet again...

Just to clarified when the stories took place when the cancellation happened, the anime ended when Ichigo came back as a Shinigami again thanks to the selected Captains help (also this was after the filler with those clone captains about) and I think the manga story at that time was a few chapters after that, so yeah a cancellation of the anime is bound to happened unless they wanted to put it on hiatus.

It kind of the reason while Fairy Tail anime was cancell (or rather put on hiatus now that I read it's coming back on aired soon).

Seriosuly, if they going to make an anime of a long running Shonen series, they should wait for at least 5 years, not within a year or two eventhought they would risk of that series losing popularity if they waited for the anime to be release too late.

366 episodes is ending too soon???? Most anime series don't last that long. Most series, anime or otherwise, run out of steam before they reach 200.
Did you hit an extra zero there? Most anime is burnt out by episode twelve nowadays. It's considered lucky now to get past episode twenty which for an average anime that is about two seasons. I think five series are past 200 episodes. Gintima, Dragonball, Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece.

1.All the goddamn filler
2.Not having enough manga to work with(seriously when the anime ended,the manga wasn't even at the first quincy invasion)
3.Loss of popularity in Japan(The place where Bleach was most popular was North America(don't quote me on that)but Japan is the place that most matters for the anime,sadly.)

Bleach is my favourite anime of all time but lets be honest,the characters and story were kinda shite.I was so annoyed at how they delt with Aizen.

SPOILER ALERT !!!!

The freaking Hogyoku destroyed the main reason Aizen was the main villain which was his zanpakuto Kyoka Suigetsu.It was so OP that Kubo had to downgrade Aizen in order for Ichigo to beat him(which he didn't,he would have lost if Urahara didn't show up and seal Aizen).One of my favourite characters was Ulquiorra and lets face it,that guy had no character at all.I know his aspect is Emptiness but sheesh give him a freaking reason to live.The occasional derpy surprised face also annoyed me since he was supposed to be devoid of emotion.And Ulquiorra suffered from the Aizen Syndrome aswell.He got so freaking powerfull that Ichigo needed another power-up pulled from his ass that was used once and forgotten(without counting the Hell movie,cuz that isn't canon)Vasto-Lorde Ichigo couldn't have easily demolished Aizen Butterfly mode but meh.

EDIT:Oh yeah and the music was a gift from the gods.Seriously,so many great soundtracks.Can't get enough of 'em.

Nope. If you recall I said "anime or otherwise" as in most television shows are burned out by episode 200. Anime usually much sooner.

I won't miss it. The pacing was awful, and the fights dragged on forever. The souls society arc was the last good part. It was also obvious that the story wasn't going anywhere. Like Hazzard said, you have gardeners and architects. Personally I'm an architect, and I can't stand gardeners. The story just runs on until it collapses in on itself. Besides, it's not a short series. It overstayed its welcome.

Besides, it's all about Titan now. I guess you could say it OVERSHADOWS the competition. At least until the writer runs out of ideas and the series slowly tapers off into nothing.

Now, go watch Berserk, and never look back.

Goodbye and good riddance I say. Apart from Legend of the Galactic Heroes, I can't think of any series to reach 100 episodes that was/is good or merited it's own length.

Yeah, gonna have to chime in with everyone else. Bleach, ended soon, kinda...no. Even though it ended nicely, I would have liked to have more FLCL. Six episodes of that was like a drop of heroin. GIVE ME MORE!

Still, I didn't watch Bleach. I do, hoever, watch the HELL out of Naruto, so I know what it's like to be into a long series. I know that Naruto could end at any time, and I will weep that day.

The whole "unecessary filler arcs" kinda reminds me of Naruto and why I stopped watching it. I mean, I went through ALL Dragon Ball/Z/GT, fillers and all and I didn't minded, but Naruto... good God, that was awful.

Bleach is not a good series because Tite Kubo is both a lazy artist and terrible storyteller who relies on massive amounts of Deus Ex Machina and Ass Pulls to ensure Ichigo prevails over whatever new threat he faces by giving him new powers as the plot demands that he have them. Even fans have said the series stopped being good after the Soul Society Arc.

So it ended? I kinda forgot about it. Can't say that i'm missing it a whole lot, i remember skipping through most of the episodes because they were filled with boring crap, not to mention the horrible filler arcs which probably makes up 1/4 of the anime.

That's not really short, by any stretch of the imagination. I personally never liked Bleach because it felt like just a repeat of the Naruto formula. One person does well for a while, then the other person suddenly gets more powerful and destroys them. If one person is winning the battle at the end of an episode but hasn't actually defeated the person yet, you can be damn sure the other person will suddenly be winning the fight in the next episode. But as far as why they didn't keep the anime running as long as the manga, maybe they again didn't want to repeat the Naruto situation, where the manga couldn't keep up with the anime, so the anime got 300 episodes of shitty filler. Or maybe, like Berserk, the anime served as an introduction to the manga, more than anything else

Not going to lie. I decided to watch Bleach because I thought it ended. So you can imagine how incredibly pissed I was to find out that it goes on after episode 366.
And I'm not saying this because I don't like the show or anything, I just thought it was completely finished. Honestly, I hope they'll follow the route Naruto Shippuuden follows and end it this or next year. I just don't think there is anywhere else to go. Also, I liked pretty much all the filler arks. The Bount one being my favorite. So I hope the anime will end with the manga.
