We don't Hate the game. (I love it.)
We hate IW taking away our dedicated servers and a cheer when ever we see another news report about the IW reshuffle and just think.
"You guys got it wrong and now god bestows holy judgement!!!"

Tell me why dedicated servers matter so much.
Because it breaks the immersion of game play. The flow of adrenaline making you push buttons doesnt take kindly to being interrupted.
Also dedicated servers allowed for
-professional competitions
-Lan gaming which is the most FUN gaming as it is all with people you like and feel at ease with.
-being able to play as soon as you jumped on instead of waiting 30 minutes simply for a hardcore team deathmatch game to fill up at 4 pm +10 gmt.

Nothing ruins my happy headshotting than some idiot walking infront of me while i'm scoped in and getting himself teamkilled. then constantly following me around standing infront of me and jumping to greif me because HE made a mistake all the while voice chatting profanities in a sqeaky thirteen year old's voice.

that is why dedicated matters.

It's cool to hate it, along with Halo, Gears of War, religion and JRPG's. If you want to be loved even more then say you love TF2, Half Life and Portal.

While I am half joking it does seem that the above seems scarily accurate for a rather large amount of people on this site.
Look at me, I love TF2, Half-Life, and Portal! I'm a walking stereotype!
Oh wait, I like JRPGs as well, false alarm.

Because with Dedicated Servers, there could be admins running those servers, doing something about the hackers. There wouldn't be connectivity issues every three games. I'd be able to choose a game I want with as many people as I want it to have - I wouldn't have the computer tell me "right, you're too stupid to know what you want to play, so I'm deciding for you."

Oh, and it decided not to fix problems it had in CoD4, like spawning you under airstrikes or in front of crazed madmen with big flashy guns.

Imbalanced multiplayer, too many 12 year olds, confusing story.

Sounds to me like you all just suck. In any game you a playing within the parameters of the game inventors. Everybody has a different opinion on how a game should be but everyone did not create the game. As a gamer you should be able to use the laws within the give world to win. Point blank.

well personally the multiplayer did not used to make me fill my soul full of rage until I was ready to turn into the Hulk and totally destroy my console, but it now seems like the more time that has passed since the release the more players are finding better ways to make the gameplay cheap, unfair, and no fun at all. For instance being instantly killed off at the beginning of a match because the other team thinks that it is fair to shoot of grenades into our spawn, or the fact that it is hard to get any kind of killstreak or just kill when most of the opposite team hides in a dark corner or on a far away tree/building to where you have absoluetly no chance of seeing them until you are already dead, I also have found it very unfair with the whole prestige thing seeing as how if you have just prestiged and you have absoluetly no good weapon choices you are going to be that guy who dies 800 times for the next twenty levels they should really come up with a thing that puts you in a lobby with people around your level to even it out, oh I could go on and on about that but mainly it is just because there are three kinds of people on MW2 there are the ones that play the game fairly, there are the unfair and probably least skilled players who sit and wait in corners/building tops/glitch spots for somebody to walk by so they can get cheap kills all day long and shoot grenades like its Rain Down Explosives Day, and then there are the cheaters the low down dirty playing gaywads that get into tenth prestige lobbies or carry guns that havent even come out yet or use wierd glitches that throw them out of the map almost like they litterally have no life and just want to feel like they have accomplished something when really they are complete and utter rubbish and should be kicked off xbox live, games are meant to be played fairly and just and MW2 takes that logic and tears it into tiny pieces.

These guys seems to get it. Cheers for realising what a putrid piece of shit that game is.
Critisism is alright and all but I kind of take offense at what you're saying.
So people who happen to like MW2 (such as myself) just don't "get it"? Am I somehow wrong because I like it better than BC2?
Dude, you're wrong! Open your eyes! You're being led by a corporate hungry jackal that has no love for you, the gamer! Neither does he love balance, rewarding loyal fans or being anything other then a milking product for all the guilible CoD fans! Ghaaaaah!

All kidding aside, if you like Call of Fool: Modern Gayfuckstupid 2, that's fine :p I've spent the last, what is it, 2 years, playing competitively CoD4. Before that it was CoD 2, before that it was Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. It doesn't take a fucking genious to see through what a putrid, disgusting mess MW2 multiplayer is. Literally, this is the first game that makes me go "this is a fucking abomination to not only PC games but to multiplayer games". It's shit mate.

Though the singleplayer was short it was explosive and fun. And spec ops, although rediculously short them too, they are also fun :) Seriously though, I've been a CoD fan since the first one. Surely you can see CoD 6 for what it is? Unless you don't play multiplayer. In that case, great! :D Stay the fuck away from it. CoD 6 made me start raging in multiplayer. NO OTHER GAME have I EVER raged in...
No, it's not.
It's an alright multiplayer game. It's not BC2 which is the clear winner multiplayer-wise but It is entertaining, distracting and fun if you don't take it seriously.
I know I didn't and I've had fun.

Erm 11 friends ? You have 11 friends who all game at the same time as you ? Even in the middle of the night when you cant sleep, or when you take a day off work, or when your working a 12.5 hour shift ?

Wow your awesome can I be your friend (Two thumbs up) :D
I didn't say anything about eleven friends.
If I want, I can get five or six people to play with me.
That's fun enough.

Again, as with my TF2 question, it seams that so many people here hate MW2 multiplayer. Again, I agree with them, but why does everybody else here seem to hate it? I can't go one day with out seeing several threads about how bad the game is
Read those threads and you will read why people hate it. I don't know what more there is to add to it.

People have expressed why they hate it, then you make a new thread asking why people hate it.

I don't mean to be aggressive, I often come across the wrong way, which I am trying to work on.

The story mode is way too short for a game of this price.
It's pretty good on replayability (three times completed) and it has coop that's a blast.

Furburt said:
the story managed to be both bland and over dramatic
Which is really not a bad thing - the first one had the same problems, no one seemed to mind.
At least here it is accompanied by Hans fucking Zimmer's soundtrack[/quote]

The story is 7/8 hours long, the only reason to replay is for the harder difficulty (which isn't hard) and maybe the trophies etc. For a game that cost more than other games it should have a single player that last 20 or 30 hours.

Oblivion and dragon age are the average price for games and the single player lasts about 70 hours, I am not expecting that from an FPS who's stories usually lack a good story but more cash for alot less game is a slap in the face.

Granted the best bit of the game, spec ops, drags out the time to about 12 or 13 hours.

To top it off the DLC is 5 maps, 2 are tweaked old ones for £10? Is a major rip off.

The keeping up with the story is a chore and is like watching two films at once. The first game had a much better story, crawling out onto the waste land was amazing.

Thats not even touching on the multi player.

ANOTHER EDIT.

I am rather irritated with those who's only reason that they hate Modern Warfare 2 is that it encourages cheap tactics. Since this is a "Realistic Shooter" and war is hell. You're going to want to do whatever it takes to kill other players whether its "noob-tubing" or camping thats how war is.
I remember that scene in saving privet Ryan were there were people sitting in corners with shotguns and shooting M203's. It's the new tactic in Iraq aswell.

I am joking obviously. It just lacks balls or skill (I suppose) to sit in a corner waiting for people to walk into the room. Ruining everybody else's fun 'cos it's the only way for them to get kills.

I pity them.

I like MW2, although it does get a lot of flak from people. In a way I can see why, there are ways people can break the game mechanics for their own benefit, but it doesn't really bother me that much. If I see nuke-boosters, I shoot them. If I get spawn camped, I ask a team-mate to shoot them. Problems over.

I don't "hate" it, but it has some very serious balance issues, and the game actively encourages cheap strategies like camping in a corner with akimbo shotguns. As if akimbo shotguns would even be possible in real life (which wouldn't bother me if the company wasn't so obsessed with claiming it to be a hyper realistic shooter.)

No lean or prone (Wait, did it have prone? I forget, prolly confusing it with BC2), and all the online players taking the game too seriously. Not that other multiplayer games don't have them, but MW2 is one of the biggest "competetive" online games today for all I know.

Amusingly, I'm the direct opposite of all of those.

OT: There's a few few people that like it. It's an opinion thing...

For instance being instantly killed off at the beginning of a match because the other team thinks that it is fair to shoot of grenades into our spawn,

Anticipate the gernage... run for cover or just get the hell out of dodge in general. Accept what you cant change and use it to your advantage.

or the fact that it is hard to get any kind of killstreak or just kill when most of the opposite team hides in a dark corner or on a far away tree/building to where you have absoluetly no chance of seeing them until you are already dead,

Check your corners...stop running a round like a chicken with your head cut off and stratagize

I also have found it very unfair with the whole prestige thing seeing as how if you have just prestiged and you have absoluetly no good weapon choices you are going to be that guy who dies 800 times for the next twenty levels

You really do suck.... I can get just as many kills with the default clases as I can with any custom created classes and any perks. It's all about your strategy

they should really come up with a thing that puts you in a lobby with people around your level to even it out,

Okay stick the losers with the losers... I can agree with this

oh I could go on and on about that but mainly it is just because there are three kinds of people on MW2

What you mean is that there are 3 main strategies to play.... Camp (people who are easily fragged or flanked or avoidable because they don't move.) Hunters (who are easily killed by a well timed ambush or better aiming) and the tubers (easily killed at a distance or in close quarters)

The "get instant killed by every cough" gameplay? The amount of easily exploitable cheap tactics and the amount of camping? The amount of 12 year olds in every, single, game? A "win any game by getting enough kills" mechanic that the Nuke presents? Why does MW2 get so much universal rage from this site?

(Please don't flame me, I am just curios as to why the game gets so much negative attention here)
Ok the fact that you say EVERYBODY i think that alone gives a bad impression on your topic since some people like MW2.
