Why does everybody here seam to hate MW2?

Because it's over-rated, it drains so much of the gaming community how are either too lazy or too stupid to look at other options. So many other games do what it does, and better. That's not to say it's bad, just mediocre, and not to mention unbalanced. If you can rack up a 13 kill streak, you do not need either an overpowered helicopter or a bombarding plane, it just pins an already struggling team

It's that accursed "free will" that people have. People shouldn't be allowed opinions.

It's just that some people have differing opinions and in the anonymous world of the internet, you can vocalise those opinions as loud as you want and get away with so people do. Just get over it. Do you REALLY care that much that people dislike it here or not?
I liked the game overall and although online can be frustrating at times, it's generally good fun.

There's probably a lot of ire towards MW2 because it was a game that was geared towards, and genuinely better on, consoles (and being an online forum, a lot of people here are PC gamers, and many PC gamers felt somewhat scorned by MW2).Machines said:

I don't hate mw2 but i only rented it... it honestly wasn't that bad but i only played co-op with my cousin and campaign.

Why do people hate MW2? I don't know, why people hate Halo? Why do people hate Gears of war? Why do people hate any game that seem to get popular?
It seems the more popular a game gets, the more hate it also receives. I see it as this. Some people just hate the fact that the games mention above get more attention than theirs.
They hate that they always see the hype around it while their game gets little to no attention at all.
They don't really hate the game in mention because most haters have never played the games, but they just hate the fanbase behind it. Which I myself am. I don't hate the game, I hate the fanbase.
Plus this sites seems to hold all the Halo, G It's like a ears, and Modern Warfare haters out there. It's like the HQ or them.
So maybe it's not "because this game houses many 12-year-olds." Instead you guys should be saying "Online play of any kind holds a lot of 12-year-olds who shouldn't be one the games anyway, but do because their parents are dumb enough to buy it for them."

Then colour me uncool since I like Modern Warfare 2, enjoy Halo 3, have a lot of fun with a friend at Horde on Gears of War and enjoy JRPG's quite a bit. Even worse...I never saw Half-Life as anything special *blasphemy*Machines said:

the game promotes camping, even rewards camping. as soon as you realize that, it becomes much more fun.

Hate implies I care enough about it for it to provoke a response of hatred - frankly I'm pretty sick of constantly hearing about it, but my reaction to the game itself is essentially "meh". What makes me angry is the dismissive way Infinity Ward condescended to the PC community, insisting that "using a mouse" or "the ability to change resolutions" are noteworthy features that prove they didn't just release a half-assed port of the console version, or the way they tried to spin their wholesale removal of dedicated servers as a "good thing".
It's one thing to make unpopular design decisions because you realized you can get away with it without significant financial repercussions, but when that goes hand in hand with treating PC gamers like we're idiots who will readily believe any ridiculous lie you feed us... yeah, that definitely doesn't make me hate your guts forever, no sirree!
