Oh contrare, everything sounds better played by an orchestra.
Then you'd probably love The Vitamin String Quartet. They do amazing covers of many, many artists from different genres, and even have some great original pieces. They covered the entire "In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3" album by Coheed and Cambria. It was amazing...

When compared to the original, that version is complete garbage, and I hate the original with a passion.

All these "metal" "singers" need to clear their throats and try actually singing. I prefer hearing cats in heat to the crap these "singers" spew these days.
Agreed, after listening to that it felt like a trap since that version was horrible.
Try these on for size.

Now, see. That first one was actually good. To take the vocals from a pop song and fit them in with good ole' metal, and have it sound great, shows that you don't have to have 10 gallons of phlegm in your throat to be a metal singer.

And that second one was actually pretty funny.

I could list every song in my music library and I doubt that you'd be able to find a better metal version of any of them. Plus I'd just like to throw this out there as well power metal is for girls.

Ode to Joy
Adaigo(sp) for strings
The fallout 3 soundtrack (though I expect a punkrock cover would be palatable)

Metal is an intreasting style, but I prefer my punk, rock and classical.

Typing fail speaks nothing but mental illness to me. Anyone?
Welcome to the Escapist. Just to let you know, responses and comments like this aren't really appreciated, if you want to make fun of some ones typos, go to youtube. Not to mention trying to summon flame bait by trying to get others to agree with you.

Hello, welcome to the Escapist, just to let you know, calling some one mentally ill is not really appreciated here. Though I'm assuming you meant it in a light-hearted manner, I figured I'd throw you a heads up as well...

As for the original post, sorry man, I don't really have anything, though I've been enjoying the stuff posted so far, I love when people rewrite songs to different styles of music.

Oh God what was that Katy Perry cover thing? That was ...actually what their name said, complete failure. Also true metal of the gods: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSwccNJS7X4

Die Die my Darling by the Misfits.

BTW, don't link the Metallica version, it's shit.
Are you High? That song is epic by The Four Horseman
Misfits version fails in comparison.
In fact I recently made the Metallica version my ring-tone
Goin to the Concert in Sydney in November
ROCK ON THE LEGENDS THAT ARE METTALICA!!!

OT: Cant think of any songs to make better, but you could try Poison by Britney Spears.
I think that might not sound too bad if done right.
But doesn't look like any of these are even getting found at this stage. May I suggest a close topic.

Whilst your French spelling leaves a lot to be desired, I do believe you win the thread with this sentiment, sir.

Correction, everything sounds better in 3rd Wave Ska!
But there are some songs, you just can't change. everything was in that way for a reason.

Ok, i give thee challenges three:

1.the easy one, vivaldi's four seasons
2. medium difficulty, Mr.Sandman by Pat Ballard
3. hard, this is technically a metal cove of another metal song, but this is a harder version, anyways, find The death metal version of Aces high from Iron maiden that have a Bagpipe solo.

and a bonus round: which song from what band copies the instrumental intro to "somebody to love" by Queen, hint; the band is fronted by one of the pioneers of Power Metal

EDIT: all of these exist BTW, i have them on my computer
