Why does Fox berate game designers constantly when their parent owns game companies?

They're a tool of the Republican gov't who seek to enforce the old and primitive ways of society and gov't. They mainly seek to hold us down, grab a Bible, and shove it down our throat. To put it simply, Fox is made of nothing but Orthodox Chrsitians, have you guys ever seen an Islamic man working for them? No? Unsurprising.

Fox News is in the ratings business. When you're in the ratings business (as ALL commercial cable news stations are, CNN and MSNBC included), all you care about, naturally, are ratings. And what generates ratings better than scare stories?

Fox News, as much as I disagree with them, are not stupid. They are, in fact, run by some very, VERY clever people who know their audience. That's why they're so popular. They know that young people are either 1) Left-leaning or 2) uninterested in the news. They know that their primary audience is not made up of young people. They also know that, although games are become more and more popular amongst older folks, the main middle-aged, baby boomer types (or older) who make up their audience don't really play games, and have kids.

Therefore, a scare story about video games does the following:

1) Attract the attention of parents
2) Attract the attention of older viewers desperate to find something wrong with the current generation in order to complain about them (and trust me, there's nothing older folks like doing than complaining. They LOVE to complain. It's how they pass the time)
3) Allow themselves to be painted as the "moral" guardians of "Christian" America! That is, if you disregard the breast-implanted hosts, the constant invitations for skimpy-clothed models to appear on their business shows (I'm looking at YOU Cavuto), and the fact that NewsCorp and Fox have their fair share of sleazy, trashy shows.

FoxNews cares about ratings first, and integrity somewhere around eighth. Like all cable news shows, really, they only care about ratings. You shouldn't be so shocked that they would pander to the fears of their audience. Remember, negative stories always, ALWAYS attract more attention than positive stories. It's in the interests of the news media to make it seem like the whole of civilization is poised on the edge of chaos, and that it is always the fault of people who look/sound different than you!
This

Fox News knows what get's them ratings and will keep using the same strategy it's using which is bending the truth and ignoring some crucial details.

Because they know it won't create any lasting damage to the game industry and are simply seeking to up publicity and also increase ratings for their ridiculous "news" programs.

I say Fox News is the ultimate troll. And this is coming from a conservative.
As much as it pains me to say it, conservative doesn't have to equal idiot, which is all Fox News and its audience consists of.
There's an apt John Stuart Mill quote for this. "Although it is not true that all conservatives are stupid people, it is true that most stupid people are conservative."
This made me laugh because it's completely true. Although I will admit there is a large population of stupid hippies these days. So... conservative or hippy, either way.

There was a time we could differ ideologically without calling people Hitler or commies.
Well that depends. Does before World War II count?

They want money. Purchasing those companies may well generate money. Berating games on television also generates money. Doublethink is easy when a company is as huge as Fox.
