This is a stereotyping thread. I'm 14, and I don't scream that everybody who kills me in first-person shooters is an asshole, I don't use profanity directed towards people to their face unless I've been targeted by it first. It doesn't make me feel "big," or anything, but it's a nice vent when you've just been cursed out, because it basically lets me say, "yes, everybody knows how to curse so shut up and play the freakin game." I've played in several different guilds across several different games, and most of the guild was in a 17-25 age group. Did I still carry on a mature conversation with them? Yes. Did they notice I was my age until I told them? No. The three situations I will use profanity in are retaliation, as I said before, to show them that putting together a simple four or five letters isn't some ability exclusive to them. The other is cursing an inanimate object in frustration, (Fucking demon killed me 30 times) or something like that. This is just for venting, because I can't honestly come up with a stinging insult for something that has no perrsonality or history. The last is when I'm talking to my friends, I'll say something like "this asshole was spawn camping AND teabagging today," but I'll never give his name, and again, not intended to offend the person, as they cannot hear it and I like to be able to vent. Saying "all kids are chipmunk-voice losers that fire off the word fuck like a machine gun," is a stereotype. That's equivilant of saying "all black people should be in jail because they all steal things and shoot people." More of us are mature than you give us credit for, because you only notice the ones that annoy you. I'm sure you play with more kids than you think. Those people without mics? The one that played legit, didn't camp, and didn't whine about losing by sending you hate mail? That was probably a kid. You notice the ones that annoy you because you expect them to be more respectful.

"It's a hate towards the image gamer kids give towards the entire gamer audience."
(New to the forums, don't know how to quote.)I'm pretty sure we do less damage than you do. When the gamer sterotypes come around, people generally think of a fat 30 year old man sitting in his mother's basement playing games all day, breaking only to LARP. Bit of a difference between 14 and 30. Not so much 25 and 30. The "mature adults," do the image a bit more damage than we do. It's even expected for a guy to have at least one video game in his teens or preteens. Not so much as you get older. Sure, I think adults can play games. They've got better developed reflexes and their sense of time is diferent from being alive longer, so they can grind longer and respond faster. That mean they'll probably be better. But really, don't look down on us so much. It's rude, and blaming stereotypes on an age group is hipocritical because that is a stereotype on its own. That's not wxactly "mature," now is it?

Look at what your friends and classmates like: Justin Beiber, Lady Gaga and the new nickolodean and Cartoon Network, Call of Duty, and D&D 4.0. Your new group represents everything that my group HATES about this world, and that is that most of what we loved and cherished when we were your age is being replaced by things of far less substance and far more stupidity. So it isn't kids we hate, just what you signify, which is the death of all things we love and cherish.

Also, there will always be outliers, but as a rule, your age group is incredibly immature. There may have been nice German soldiers during Nazi rule, but it doesn't mean we didn't lump them is with the rest of 'em. and yes, Goodwin's Law....

im ok with kids EXCEPT the whiny little brats who think there better than everyone else which i personaly think is most of them. for example there is a small girl who swears at random strangers in the street, the little boy who told e to "move, peasant" as i stepped to the side of the road (he died(got kicked in his tiny face)) and the 4-10 year olds that sprint around restraunts screaming. i hate those kind of kids and honestly wouldnt you too?

This is what this is about. People need to realise there are some people like us who don't sit and swear, shout and camp on CoD. Welcome to the forums, If you need any help pm a mod. Stay out of the basement.

The above is how I was as a 14 year old gamer, yet due to my lack of wanting to talk on the internet using my own voice, I just hunted the little buggers down in game and shamed them into shutting up. More often than not this made them think I was spawn camping, even when I wasn't, I actively hunted them down by mowing down the other team and running after the player who annoyed me.

I hate them for all the above reasons. They just need to calm themselves down and I'll be fine with them.

Nah, facebook has been around for quite some time, and I know quite a bit of middle school kids who do 4.0 D&D, even if you don't.

I don't like kids who think that they're so awesome by swearing and verbally attacking everyone they meet online. Plus screaming. I hate screaming.

If you behave yourself, know your age, and remember that you aren't ever as cool as you think you are (this is more for everyone, not just kids) then I'm ok with you.
Gxas here is on the trolley.

...the most common conversation between myself and a 10-16 year old child on xbox life:

kid- hey..hey sarah-kye-dull.. are you a girl?
me- giant dude named steve
kid- hey sarah-sid-all.. are you hot?!
me- *no response*
kid- sarah-kye-dull!! sarah-kye-dull!! ARE YOU HOT??
me- *no response* (because clearly being hot also effects the gameplay)
kid- you got a myspace sarah-kye-dull?!?!
me- im too old for you hun. go play.
kid- I BET YOU'RE FAT! OH MY GAWD I BET YOU'RE A FAT DYKE!! SARAH-SID-ALL IS A GIANT FAT DYKE!! DYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYKE!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOB!!!!!! (and many other noises and shouting)
me- sure kid whatever floats your boat. *mute the kid*

It's not the whole Escapist, just a loud group who like to complain about them, most of which I suspect don't have much actual contact with children. I personally love kids, but a lot of people my age (teens and early twenties), who make up the largest demograph on this website, especially the males, are at a stage where they don't want anything to do with kids. Don't worth OP, another decade or so and most of the child-haters will grow out of it :)

A big problem is lack of respect, kids today don't know their place is at the bottom of the pile. When i was a kid, only a few years ago, i knew my place and shut my mouth when told to, nowadays you tell a kid to shut up and they scream "child abuse" without the slightest thought as to what that actually means
Aristotles said the same about kids when he was an adult.
It's an ilusion what you are saying.

btw I don't hate Kids, I hate people. lol
Or it could just be that it is always true but only the people who buck the trend actually notice.

I don't know the meaning of the word TK.
You forgot 15th prestigers in that list.
Sorry about that, TK is team kill. As for people who cheat to get to top prestige, that doesn't affect my game so I don't really care. I guess some people put more value on shiny badges than others.
I have accidently TK'd about 20 times though!
In grifball.
TKs happen. Accidental team kills are fine but when you do it intentionally or fire into a crowd knowing you are likely to TK its not.

Oh, and marginally related, pregnant women freak me the fuck out. I think it looks unnatural. That bulbous parasite expanding the body like that. It gives me shivers and makes me ill just to think about it and picture it.

So, ladies. Who's interested in a guy who's not interested in raising a family?
Let's do it.

the hate is mostly for 90% of the kids (you are part of the other 10%) I personally hate them because most of them think the world revolves around them and they get away with everything
