Why does Valve treat console owners like Second Class Citizens?

Now to forestall any fan-boyisms from the various owners of different consoles it has to be accepted that PS3 owners were always going to get shafted when they bought the orange box because it was a port, and that port wasn't handled by valve so you guys were never going to get an update. However, on 360 we have been told repeatedly that we would be getting the full set of updates for TF2, in fact we have been told this since august last year that an update is on the for TF2 however all we got was some hosting controls that made the game more broken than when the modding community was messing with it.

There is now no way to tell if the game you are joining will allow a particular class, and the host can switch classes on and off during gameplay leading to ridiculous situations where everyone but the host is forced to play as a scout while he laughs it up with his sentry gun. There is no way to tell whether variable damage is on or off and the same goes for crits. They did all this and didn't bother to fix the gate glitches on dustbowl.

Now the PC community has gotten another update and it isn't even a class based one, aside from the KOTH game mode the main calling card of this update was hats... HATS!

Where is the xbox update, why is it a side project, it has been shown that orange box owners on the 360 will pay for the updates because we are just that desperate, so why won't valve prioritise it?

Because they're primarily a PC developer?

That's my guess anyway.

John Smith? boy did you pick the most plain username. Anywho I think this is a bit over dramatic. You arent second class citizens, it just is what it is. Stop complaining.
I believe he was making a Doctor Who reference.

Valve's heart lies in the PC anyway. It's what they're best at.

So since Valve is primarily a PC developer its ok for them to be a year late with an update? Also they are still a company right one of those associations that exists primarily to earn money, say for instance the god-awfully huge amounts of money available from selling the update, or map packs on the Xbox live arcade?

Your entire basis for your argument is solely around tf2, next time before you make an argument try a few more games from valve instead of one where half the time the people you play with are douches. Plus the PC is bad ass, i mean we have FUCKING LEMMINGS *****!!!!!

They want you to buy the game again on the pc for the content, that way they make more money by making you pay for something you feel like you're already entitled to.

But hey, they make good games so why not, give up your dollas son!

They can't give the 360 the updates. Aside from RAM issues, there is also the issue that Microsoft will not let them give the updates for free. So they are waiting to release the updates in one big bundle for the 360.

Also, OP, does your user name have anything to do with the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya?

Because PC > Consoles. You console tards have to realize this.
Oh fanboys.

Valve has always been a PC based developer, The Orange Box was probably just a cash in (an awesome cash in mind you) that exposed them to a different market. They could go back and update but with the recent flak they are getting for L4D2 they don't want to charge money on the consoles for an update that was free on the PC, but Microsoft or Sony would surly make them generate some cash flow for using their services.

gawd, stop complaining about it already, we got valve, mmorpgs, mods and rts and you have every other genre and publisher/developer, even those who got their start and success from the pc users only uses us as a gateway to start making games for consoles.

Well considering it's their company and their game, yes?

Also they are still a company right one of those associations that exists primarily to earn money, say for instance the god-awfully huge amounts of money available from selling the update, or map packs on the Xbox live arcade?
It's still their company which they can run how they want.

You could just upgrade your PC and play there. It's not as if Valve games have notoriously high-requirements.

Bullshit, or all that content for Burnout Paradise wouldn't have been free.

Why do people feel the need to say this over and over again?

If you were making games only for the Xbox 360, would you try making games for a completely different platform?

No.
