Why do people feel the need to say this over and over again?

If you were making games only for the Xbox 360, would you try making games for a completely different platform?

No.
But they made the game... And then they promised the update...

I think it's solely that they are primarily PC developers. They have to jump through hoops to port their games/content to other systems, and sometimes it becomes too difficult and stuff gets lost. Most stuff that's on both consoles and PCs usually performs worse and has control difficulties on the PC because it was designed primarily for a console. Valve is the opposite of that. They may be the only ones.

Valve started on PC and will most likey stay that way. Unfortunately, it gives the retarded PC eliteist a platform. PC Elitists, your even more annoying than console fanboys.
In all seriousness, this. Unfortunately, some developers are focused on one platform,be it PC,Playstation,or Magnavox Odyssey. And we can't really blame them for that...

...but we can blame world's social structure for not being able to afford all consoles and decent PC. Viva la revolucion!

You wouldn't have this problem if you had just bought the game on PC instead. You obviously have a PC, or else how would you posting here? The 360 doesn't have a web browser. I think you (and the majority of other people) knew when you bought the game that Valve treats consoles poorly and you made your choice. I have it on the PC for the same reason I have Street Fighter IV for 360, some companies favour the consoles, others the PC.

Yeah dude, no offense, but this is just the wrong place to make that topic. I feel your pain, but the escapist is primarily inhabited by PC gamers who really don't give a shit about consoles and especially don't give a shit about games that are ported to a console.

Rejoice though, the majority of the gaming market share is in console or multi-platform games, so you're in the clear in the long run.

In ten years this debate will all be irrelevant anyway when console and laptop technology merges in the next generation.

Valve already said that due to the 360 hardware is impossible to update directly TF2 with all the new maps, guns, graphics updates and all the other shit, so when all classes updates will be finished, a seperate part will released for the 360 containing all the updates.

Yeah...well see the thing is, pc is a better platform, regardless of any arguement you may make. This, and Valve is a PC game designer, therfor they worry about that first. Also do you have any idea how small Vlaves team is??? They have so many projects going and a tiny team. Deal with it, buy a fucking pc and stop complaining.

They can't give the 360 the updates. Aside from RAM issues, there is also the issue that Microsoft will not let them give the updates for free. So they are waiting to release the updates in one big bundle for the 360.

Also, OP, does your user name have anything to do with the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya?
While I do agree with basically everything you soar I belive the lack of RAM excuse is bullshit. 360 doesn't have ram yet tTreyarch released 3 map packs, Bethesda 5 massive DLC's for Fallout as well as Shivering Iles, Bungie 4 map packs and whole games are available for download. It's simply that Valve is a PC devleper, nothing wrong with that but they have to say it like it is.

Valve is a small-ish company that develops mainly for the PC. They have a hard time developing for consoles and microsoft doesn't make things easy. It is harder for them to develop for the 360 than it is for PC.

Everything you just stated is stored in the hard drive not in RAM. Then again, you may be right, but I remember reading somewhere that it was due to Ram limitations as the updates would have to be in memory at all times. Something like maps and so on only need to be loaded if they are being played on while weapons and the like must be stored in memory at all times since people can switch classes and weapons on the fly.

Half the problem is from microsoft (problems with free dlc) and the limitations of the xbox and the rest is from the fact that you lose the whole steam and modding community they've build up on pc. Trying to make inroads into the console market just isn't worth it. Besides, as soon as someone gets steam they start downloading games which earns valve money. Going to console would lose them that money.

So many fanboys in this thar forum!

Gah look, I'm a PS3 owner, and was an Xbox 360 owner, and I have a decent enough PC to run their games. So I guess the answer is, each to their own. They produce for PC, you buy a better fucking pc!

End of story, stop with the whiny threads already guys.
