Valve started on PC and will most likey stay that way. Unfortunately, it gives the retarded PC eliteist a platform. PC Elitists, you're even more annoying than console fanboys.
This is true

Valve is a small-ish company that develops mainly for the PC. They have a hard time developing for consoles and microsoft doesn't make things easy. It is harder for them to develop for the 360 than it is for PC.
I laughed a bit by that. Valve is one of the biggest PC developers. Haven't you seen their popularity and their big game series. There are companies that are way smaller. Avalanche Studios is an example.

OP: Cause Valve are mainly a PC game developer. They are focusing more on their PC games, and it takes time for them to update the console games.
With a "small-ish" company I'm sure he didn't mean the popularity of Valve. They only have like 150 employees on their paylist

Bioware>Valve. I just do not understand why people love Valve so much.
Because people that love Half-Life, love Valve. I'm a valve fanboy, no question about it, but I only enjoy the Half-Life series and Team Fortress 2. Saying that, I can't really see the greatness in either CS, Portal or L4D.

"second class citizens"? Don't you think that's a little bit strong? It's not like Valve are depriving you of job opportunities or your civil rights..... it's just a bit of video game content. Plus, from what I've heard, playing TF2 on consoles is near impossible with more than a few people due to lag. That might've changed, though.

Valve are busy people. You might say "it must be easy to put the content up for the Xbox and the PS3!". Well, if that was the case, Valve probably would have done it by now. Valve is a company and companies like money and Valve aren't purposefully treating console owners like, ugh how I hate this over-used term: "Second Class citizens", because that would make them lose money.

Now, Valve use the Steam service. They have always used Steam (they are the ones who made it after all). All their personnel are trained in how to use steam, how to update by steam. That is their specialty. They probably don't have anyone employed who can deal with the PSN or the Xbox/Microsoft Live Market. They are doing other things, like making new games, maintaining the steam network, doing deals with other publishers, and making new content. The probably don't have the time or the will to get involved with dealing with sony or microsoft, given that they have to deal with compatibility issues with all sorts of PC hardware.

Now, that sucks, and maybe Valve should devote more resources to supporting the console versions of their games. But Valve got started as a PC orientated company, and that's what they'll remain as for the foreseeable future. Does that suck? Yes. But they aren't doing it on purpose. They don't have a big sign on their wall saying "TREAT ALL CONSOLE OWNERS LIKE CRAP! THIS IS THE COMMAND OF NEWELL!"

Consoles are just not their focus.

Oh fuck off. Just because someone uses a console doesn't mean they don't have a PC as well.
Which begs the question, why didn't they buy Orange box for the PC? Every gamer on the planet could have told you this would have happened months before the release of Orange Box, yet people still chose to ignore them.
I wasn't even concerning the orange box in my statement.

So since Valve is primarily a PC developer its ok for them to be a year late with an update? Also they are still a company right one of those associations that exists primarily to earn money, say for instance the god-awfully huge amounts of money available from selling the update, or map packs on the Xbox live arcade?
Do we get Metal Gear Solid or Fable 2? No no, of course not, those are platform exclusive. Stop moaning, it goes both ways.

The patches for tf2 make the game better, more fun, more balanced (mostly) and a better game as a whole. Why wouldn't you want that :|

Be glad they port (poorly) to the consoles; just like im glad to have poor PC portsfor some games.

This whole topic is useless; teens raging. smarter teens telling them to calm down, adults raging. other adults calming them down.

Actually we will get a Metal Gear game, I think, but WHERE THE FUCK IS MY HALO 3?

Where is the xbox update, why is it a side project, it has been shown that orange box owners on the 360 will pay for the updates because we are just that desperate, so why won't valve prioritise it?
Greedy tards at Microsoft want to make people pay for the updates while Valve thinks that isn't cool. Also, I think they want to make Valve pay them to put those updates there.

Well you're treated as second class citizens because you are second class citizens. No, JK console fans, you're just as important as us PC gamers. I could offer 2 reasons as to why Valve supports the PC far more than any console. One is that there engines and graphical demands of their games in general (like Half Life 2 w/the Source Engine) just couldn't be run effectively on any console (did you ever see the 1st gen Xbox's port of Half Life 2? It was awful) at the time being. Now with the PS3 and Xbox 360, this isn't the case anymore, and within a year or so you may se more support for consoles from Valve (take L4D for example). Another reason Valve may be sticking to the PC (and this may sound stupid but give it a thought) is that their origins are in PC gaming, so why not stick to what you do best?

In a thread about Valve favouring PC games you said "Just because someone uses a console doesn't mean they don't have a PC as well."
Inferring pretty clearly that people were making the choice to buy tha console version of whatever, I chose orange Box because it's most relevant to the thread.
It still begs the question, why are people picking the console port if they already have a PC and have the option for the better version?

Baw Baw Baw why do PC players get treated like crap? No Fable 2, no Saints Row, no MGS... Boohoo. You knew when you bought the console that you would get some good experiences (exclusives) and some bad (not being the centre of a PC/other console developer's attentions), so why complain? Valve said you'd get the updates... WHEN THEY'RE FINISHED UPDATING. I haven't seen the Demoman, the Engineer or the Soldier update yet, and until we get them, you'll have to keep on saying that Valve are terrible developers.

Last time I checked, Valve had multiple games out for the 360. Before that they were a PC centered developer. Now, their first game wasn't well supported. But their second was on par with the PC. They are getting better, they are just doing what they want to do.

Stopr whining! PC owners had to wait longer for Mirror's Edge, Street Fighter 4, Mass Effect amongst so many others. There are developers that are more loyal to one format than another. Get over it!
