America is a child of a country at a measly 232 years old. It is a juvenile self obsession, also, they were the only government of their kind when the formed, so they can claim other democracies are "America clones"

So why do you think America is Awesome.

NO HATE SPEECH

because we are the only country whose citizens are allowed to say whether or not they think it IS awesome
Exactly what makes me annoyed. Its not just america... Its the entire western world, which involves Germany, France, Britain, Luxembourg, Belgium and many more.
Just saying, America was the first country on that list, in a chronological sense, you could be executed for insulting the head of your country in Europe, but after the alien and sedition acts were repealed, you could call president Jackson a J*ck*ss and he would probably make it his party's symbol, oh wait.....

i'm american. i love my country. and as great as it is, there's flaws with the country. like our president can be better(he's not evil or the worse president people, just remember that asshole linden b johnston), our president elect has no experience and our current economy sucks. but the best thing about this country is both the first and second amendment. the freedom of speech and the right to bear arms. now i can cuss with a my rifle in my hands all i want!

Actually japan is the best place to be a gamer

you Football cant rightly be called football since the ball is very seldom kicked as for soccer the most love comes from Mexico there.

I cant comment on the third bit don't know enough about world governments.

Again I'd prefer japan they are the most advanced technologically.

And once again Japan has the best college system it's just over crowded so the Japanese go elsewhere for there education which i guess would put you second.

And every country places reverence on there freedoms they just dont do it as loudly as Americans do.

And yeah...I'm done.
You've done nothing but try to be a contrarion in your post. I think the OP wanted to know why people love America, I don't see what talking about Japan has to do with that. Too much derailing on this one, but I guess with the subject matter it was bound to happen.

EDIT: Just reading the few posts above me, I think this one should be closed down. Anybody else?

There's no such thing as the USA. It's a myth perpetrated by the leaders of the Muslim world, who are in need of a Great Satan to keep the people distracted while they live like kings. They have callcentres and datacentres dedicated to generating all correspondence reportedly from America. All those US soldiers wandering around Iraq? Mercenaries paid to be there, pissing people off.

Between Canada and Mexico, there's a great rift that leads to the centre of the Earth. Canadians and Mexicans, the superstitious lot they are, keep well away from the precipice and don't mention it to anyone, for fear of demons stealing their souls.
Oh my God! Where am I?

Yes. America is an average place. For some reason, we take it upon ourselves to play Big Brother to everyone else. That's probably everyone's biggest problem with us.
I wonder what would happen to the world if America suddenly decided to stay in its own affairs...
The world would implode.

A lot of people where you are are either judgmental or ignorant.

You only hear about the racist and hypocritical ones because they're the loudest. America's actually a pretty good place to live. I like that we have religious freedom of worship here. There are still quite a few countries where that's a luxury.

And yeah...I'm done.
1) Japan used to be the best place to be a gamer for a few years, but not anymore. America gets far more video game releases than Japan does and has a much stronger indie development. The only reason I think of that Japan might be considered better is because of it's still strong arcade scene. However, what America lacks in arcades, it makes up with stronger online gaming.

2) Irrelevant argument. You are a complete idiot if you judge a sport by it's name. Also, I find soccer to be an inferior sport to football as it's extremely boring and doesn't have the strategic depth that football has. To put it simply, my preference of football over soccer is about the same as my preference of chess over checkers.

3) In some ways, Japan does get newer technology ahead of America, there is no doubt. However, in terms of technological and scientific progress, America is still the best country in the world for those.

4) Nope, Japan does not have the best college system in the world. If you look at the best colleges in the world, the majority of them are located in the United States. Japan's best college, the University of Tokyo, is only ranked #19th right now in 2008 (and just for reference, America has thirteen colleges ahead of the University of Tokyo on rankings). The second best college system also belongs to Britain, not Japan.

5) I guess you could make that argument, but I could say that the fact that we are louder about our freedoms is evidence that we place more value in them.

And yeah...try again, Mr. Weeaboo.

I live in America, but I don't really consider myself a patriot. Free speech and apple pie are nice.

Death is a preferable alternative to communism! - Liberty Prime

I love America, but not for what it is now. I must say that I am proud to be an American. That dosent mean I dont hate George Bush (I do.) or that I dont see serious problems with it, but I was born here and I love it here.

We're alright. I had a whole 5 paragraphs to say about this but I'll keep it at this.
This is why we are NOT awesome.
1. We voted for Bush TWICE!
2. Our measurement system is fucking stupid.
3. Our country was founded on war. And our history begins with it.
4. We don't have any castles besides the ones in Disneyland.

And here is one of the best reasons I can think of that we ARE awesome.
1. We aren't Canada.

So we aren't perfect, but it is a damn good place to live.
And to all that say our entertainment is good. Watch japanese TV. It's fucking hilarious.
(If this offends or makes anyone mad, I apologize. I'm just speaking my mind.)
