Why is Brian the Dog an atheist when in he has seen Jesus multiple times? I don't get it.

I'm not a troll I wasn't trying to be a troll, I apologize if this was troll like behavior. Yes it's a cartoon, Brian is a character that is never going to exist, and I completely understand that. I just wanted to know IF there was a reason Seth McFarlane was doing some kind of joke.
