why is life so boring?

i was thinking about life in general and ive came to the conclusion that everyones life is boring, "try to make ends meet, you're a slave to money then you die" (12 man points if you get tell me where the quote is from) but yeah its true. we are born, we try to get a good salary then we die. we work 9-5 and go home eat, sleep then work again (if its not work then you place of education etc).

i say we all start being more exciting, take something you are afraid of and do it, go sky diving, talk to the girl/boy that you like, buy the fast car that youve always wanted but thought was too impractical, swim naked etc

i recon if we all did something exciting, something dangerous, took a risk, face a fear or just to something outrageous fun or extravagent every now and then. we would get more enjoyment out of life.

EDIT: Well some people enjoy the whole 9 to 5 thing, I can't really comment since I'm only 16 and haven't had to face the monotony of work in the real world, but, life is what you choose to make of it. The things you mentioned; sky diving, having sex with a thousand hookers on a mountain of cocaine, and skinny dipping ect. Are only fun because we think they are. Well, that's without going into the complex biology and neuroscience of it all.

Life is boring and people use movies, books, and video games to take themselves out of life. Works for me and i don't have to worry about my parachute not working.

Every now & again i just get on a train & head into a nearby city, Go to a cafe & sit with a friend discussing random crap. It kinda puts things into perspective. The world may be boring but its the most exiting thing your ever going to experience. Live it, love it?

You're ALIVE. Do you not realize how incredible it is to be alive?
I mean, incredible itself is an absurd concept but so is boring. Sure, a lot of people just work and then die, but if you don't appreciate your life then you need a serious screw to the brain. I repeat, you are alive, you can experience, you can appreciate, you do]. Do you know how many not-things don't do? You aren't not existence. You don't not exist.

Live your life miserable and ***** about it or appreciate that you have experienced existing. Choose one and bugger off.

There is the Chinese[1] curse "May you live in interesting times". I sure am glad no war is around the corner (hurray nuclear MADness) and my food supply chain looks stable.

But even if you lived the most exciting life you can imagine, there is that thing called Habituation. If you do something often enough you will get used to it or need higher doses (drugs e.g.). Parachute to work everyday and it will become a chore.


But at least this boredom is the reason we have, among other stuff, perfectly safe but exciting entertainment like Video Games! (And Books, check them out someday.)
