Life isn't boring if you have friends.
Friends are entertaining and they make you go and do things. The more friends you have is less time spent alone thinking about stupid stuff like this. Try get more friends, and a girlfriend/boyfriend wouldn't be a waste either.

life is not boring, life is what you make of it. If you are bored then go do something with your life. It doesnt have to be getting a material possession. Instead of buying a ps3 save your money to go abroad and visit some wonderful country or culture that intrigued you.
Life is boring because we are self-aware. Mundane, monotonous work doesn't satisfy self-aware beings for very long, unless something distracts them from the fact that they do the same thing day in and day out. The general public would be much happier if they were no smarter/aware than simple machines.
Life isn't boring, you are. If you can't find something to occupy and interest your small, tiny, pathetic little mind, then you're the problem. Anyone who, once they get their basic needs and comforts met, sits down in this big, wide, wonderful world and says, "Gee, life's boring, what's the point?" should just eat a bullet, suck on a tailpipe, go slap a pitbull, bum rush a cop, whatever. Just kill yourselves.
If you sit there and stare into that gun, tailpipe, pitbull or cop and think, "Man, I don't wanna die", then turn around and find something to do, create something, go somewhere, sing, dance, find Jesus, have random casual sex, whatever. Just don't sit there and say "Life's boring" when you're not making any effort to improve your life.

Not trying to sound emo, but everywhere I look life is all about a job and nothing else, when it should be the other way around. A job should be there for you, not you for your job.
With how much money runs the world it's no surprise people dedicate themselves to it... but I really really really feel that there isn't enough fun in the world.

During the semester, I'm so frikkin' busy I'm actually glad when things calm down a bit.
Hobbies are a good way to enhance a boring life, sure.
But maybe what you really need is to find a job/career that truly interests you, one that doesn't bore but fulfills you.
After all, our job takes up a large portion of our lifetime.
If you manage that, your job won't just be a means to get money.

I'm more excited for the semester to start since I missed a semester to work. Working a mundane job can totally blow my left big toe. But it was just a job, not a career. But life isn't boring. The things we do in life get boring. When we fall into a routine, or have lack of anything interesting, of course it gets boring. Hell, I sat and watched 11hrs of Flight of the Conchords on DVD! But hell, might as well enjoy this lounging now cause once the semester starts again, I'll be back in the books and pushing away creepy old men that try to stare at my boobs....

I do all of that, except for the fast car stuff, because I use an SUV, and acutally use the space I have for hauling equipment: SCUBA gear, climbing harnesses, camping packs, coolers, tons of stuff. I've been skydiving, I've jumped from a roof into a pool (don't bellyflop--pain you don't ever want to know, believe me), I've gone skinny dipping (do it with people you trust and love), I've thrown a suprise party for a friend, I have a raucous good time all the time. If you ever find yourself bored with friends, with absolutely nothing to do, hit up a dollar store, or toy store--find the foam swords. You can find them for about a dollar each, or about 6/$10, but go get some. At any point you're bored, just whip out the foam swords, and smack away. No hurt, no pain, just a hilariously evil amount of fun.shootthebandit said:
Funny thing, actually--I can set my own hours, take two weeks off every few months, and usually only work from about 11am-5pm, weekdays. Take your own advice, friend, and do something fun. There's plenty of things out there that can even be done in a single afternoon, for extremely cheap. Laugh at yourself, and to yourself, for no reason at all. It helps, a lot, and it makes the fun you're having much more so.

yeh i mean un-destructive un-harmful chaos is wonderful for the head sometimes. its good to see that life isn't always straight tie, follow the rules, finely crafted thing. its good to have your brain work over time and try to process things quickly to have to figure out what's going on around you and what to do.
