Because we only wear black until they develop a darker colour.

Yellow is associated with poison (ladybirds) and urine. Red is blood. Blue is calm because of the sea/sky. It's basic imprinting.

Pink/Blue became that way because of basic imprinting after WW2. Many reasons why it could have been but it's perpetuated by social reinforcement.

Men are supposed to be tough and threatening...
tell me do these look threatening to you?

If that girl's gun actually fires a shot, I'll ignore the pink right away.
Most guys would be worried the girl, rather than the gun and the color of it.^_^ But, Im not most guys, and the only thing on my mind, how in the hell did she get that gun in that color? o_0

On topic: Pink isnt really a feminine color to me. Alot of girls I know actually hate it. Alot think yellows a "gay" or "girly" color, but its one of my favorite colors, and Im not gay or girly, as many douches around my town infer.-_- Basically pink and many other colors are only considered feminine by popular assumption.

Red with violence, and yellow with being a coward?

Then again when you put red next to yellow people start to get hungry...??

Personally, I get hungry when I see pink, if you know what I mean...;P
actually, red is most likely attributed to violence because the devil was described as red, so satanists where viewed to favor red. 600 years later, we still haven't shook away the propaganda.

as for the pink, you clever devil.
I would imagine that red is attributed to violence because that is the colour of blood, then it was the colour given to the devil.

Upon birth, doctors used to give ribbons (or something) to a baby for quick identification of gender, they just happened to choose pink for girls and blue for boys, no reason. It eventually became standard.

Because Flamingos are retarded creatures and men are very self-concious, so they dnt want to associate themselves with the Flamingo

On the other hand, I think most guys would definitely ask those questions first, lol.

Because , to humans, most things are sterotyped. It just so happens that pink is, for now, a sterotypical female colour.

Didn't read it but usually Long answer=Right answer. So what this guy said.
It didn't actually give an answer. He said that pink was a masculine color in the early nineteen-hundreds.

Of course, the point being that there is no real reason.
Nah he answered the question, just not as directly.

the evidence from the past shows we attribute it based on nothing, meaning it's just our perception of a colour.

Pink is a feminine color because a girl's vagina looks like a pink love-heart when you part the lips. Sheesh, don't you guys know anything ? It's all about sex.
And so I scrolled up very quickly. My brain noticed one word during the few frames. It was that word. Like spider-sense or something. Literally.

Probably because of this

Kids are malleable.
I remember having this discussion with my Primary School teacher and Power Rangers was the only argument I could come up with as why pink and yellow were for girls.

I later found out that the Yellow Ranger was acually a guy in the Japanese show.

I pick pink for my Team colour in Custom Starcraft 2 games every time; and I'm the manliest man who ever manned a man.
(Totally not as gay as it sounds)

One of the things that are "just is." All Some things have no basis in rationality. Just as purple was ordained the colour of royalty in Ancient Rome, so is the colour pink reserved for our lady friends.

EDIT: Fuck you Google Chrome, it IS spelled as "colour."
You can download a Dictionary for Australian or English spellings.
