They're really not. It's called the United Kingdom and they've been united for a fair while now (with the exeption of Northern Ireland),so I see them as one contry. So the real mystry is... why do most of them have seperate sports teams (do they have seperate eurovision teams*)?

*Come to hink of it, why is Israel in Eurovision? They're clearly in asia.

Why? Do you realize how stupid this is? Don't you realize your one big fucking country all together?

Frankly, I find the petty squabling between you guys pathetic. Enough with the fucking divides and other stupid shit. How are we supposed to go along preaching the values of tolerance and fraternity between the various people of the world when there's people like you who don't even identify as British? You make me sick.

And no, they're not individual countries.
(wow arent you just a basket of chuckles.)
Technically they are the United Kingdom but I would much rather have it so that they were seperate countries mainly because it would stop the arguing. Also many of the people who dont want to be identified as English feel that theyre country should be independant of the UK as the choices made by the UK's government are not in the interest of theyre country.

P.S. next time you feel like stating your opinion cut back on the profanity.

Actually, them up North speak Irish (Gaeilge), and them in Scotland speak Scottish (Gàidhlig, and I'd like to know how that differs from the Irish pronounciation).
It's pronounced gaah-lik, rather than gay-lik.

déan mar a dhéanaimse an fear seo folláin is maith liom Béarla? a ionraic smaoinigh gan mhoill. now that was an example of another language spoken in the British isles.
Dia dhuit. I had to get an exemption before I sat the JC, so I don't understand some of that. I got half of it, but that's about all, sorry.

You take Euros?
Northern Ireland, England, and Scotland have their own paper money. Same currency, different notes. Though many places in Northern Ireland, especially near the border, accept Euros as well.

I'm going to act like a stereotyper and assume that England is made up of allt he same type of people.

I'd rather call someone British instead of English/Scottish/Irish as well, but it tends to piss people off.

Wales is questionable on that front.

Being from the UK myself, I see England, Sctoland, Wales and Northern Ireland as the US sees it's States. I see myself as being from the UK, (look at the) State of England.

Just how someone from say, Illinois would say "I'm from the US, State of Illinois"

It doesn't make a huge amount of difference really....

Wait... I'm from Jersey, Channel Islands, so I'm none of those... Do you put an extra option for "Channel Islands"?

Wait... Maybe I don't want to be lumped in under "Channel Islands" with the people from Sark and Guernsey, they're a bunch of Donkeys and Crows. And don't even get me started on the guys over on Alderney, the Hermites or the Frogs over on Chaussee.

So that's another 6 options there, then you've got the Isle of Man (which is officially separate), Sky, the Scilly Isles... not to mention the many little islands off the coast. So go ahead, be "scottish" rather than "british", but be prepared to spend four hours looking for "scotland" in amongst all the little-known sub-areas.

Hell, when I fill out a form I have to look for Jersey, then Channel Islands, then United Kingdom, and sometimes as far as Great Britain.

The important bit is I'm not English >.>

I would understand differentiating between Quebec and the rest of Canada, but the UK? I don't think so. That's like me saying "I'm not from Argentina, I'm from Buenos Aires. Not from BA, actually, Gran Buenos Aires. No! Wait! I'm from the partido of San Isidrio, although in reality from the neighborhood of Martinez! And from the half of Martinez on the South side of the train tracks!"

I think a better question is why would you want the option? It makes no difference. Besides:

Britain>England
Britain>N.Ireland
Britain>Scotland
Britain>Wales
Eh, no. N. Ireland is part of an Island called Ireland, how the the hell are they British? They are Irish.

I might be wrong about this but, aren't they all ran under the same government? In my eyes, that makes them the same country.

I guess I don't really care, but I'd much rather just say England, than the United Kingdom.

Are you an Angle barbarian? Are you from Angle land? Those are thousand year old names, so I think you're British more than English.
