Why isn't anyone excited about Kane And Lynch 2?

Really? Shame, I liked it. Then again, as I said I was totally disappointed with RDR so I should just check into arkham right now, shouldn't I.

Was anyone even all that excited about the first one? Would anyone have even cared if that reviewer hadn't've gotten canned?

Frankly, I don't even know what Kane and Lynch is. Isn't it based on that comic/cartoon/point and click game about a detective dog and his psychotic rabbit side kick? I'm not sure, but I'm going to continue to think it is.

Maybe they aren't excited for a sequel because they didn't like the original game. That seems like a safe supposition to me.

I played the demo, and I have to say it was one of the worst segments of a game I have played in a long, long time.

I mean it's like Lynch attached a security camera to a long pole with moveable joints, and attached that to his shoulder. It's all grainy, has weird lines running through the screen, and if you shoot someone in the head, it gets all blurred out and pixelated.

Not to mention the controls are as bad or worse than the first game.

I'm more shocked about the fact that you seem to be completely in the dark about Sam & Max here =P

As I said, I don't care about whether it's a sequel or not, every developer can fail miserably at some point. This really just shows how right the videogame industry is to bet all their money on successful franchises, it seems people really are like sheep to them.

I'm not sure if that really follows.

For starters, whether you care or not, it is a sequel. A sequel to an unsuccessful game, or at least a game that received fairly poor reviews. So now instead of betting only on successful franchises, they're betting on unsuccessful ones? That seems odd to me. It's be like if Eddie Murphy made Norbit 2 (holy fuck, that movie was awful).

I still don't know what the game is about, even though I think I might have read about it at one point. I forgot already. That's not a point in its favor.

But that could just be me. There is no accounting for taste. It could be whatever Zane and Finch is about is just something that does not interest me. (Therefore, it's a NASCAR license, right?)

But I assume it sold some and that's why a sequel was developed in the first place. So this is cashing in on a franchise, successful or otherwise. So, I don't really see your point.

Well the only thing that was "good" with the first one was the over the top Violence and Insasnity of the main characters but it died down to the end and the multiplayer was decent. It's just nothing more appealing in it, the combat was too repetetive to the end, just another bland corridor shooter. The story was worth a few laughs but it all got so shitty towards the end aswell.

Too much of a Gimmick game. "look we have violence and swearing" And no real good gameplay.

It didn't really sell at all, which makes me feel that they are trying again to accomplish what they wanted to pull with the first one. Once again, I don't really care about the first one, this game has two things going for me, 1) it's made by io interactive, a studio who have put out a lot of great titles, and 2) I am really enjoying the demo.

I think it's much better to go for this series than to start milking hitman. I mean, a new hitman game would sell like hotcakes, but it would be milking and they haven't done it. Does that make my point clearer?

One thing I've been thinking: the whole backstabbing concept of the multiplayer is quite interesting because it could make it a multiplayer game that isn't "best played with friends".

I doubt this game will sell well though, it's too far away from the standard of third person shooters these days.

I don't find these games interesting at all. Was Kayne and Lynch a TV show? I don't even know, I just know that the characters repulse me, the style is yawn-inducing and Freedom Fighters 2 is being postponed to make it. What more reason could one have to hate it?

I'm excited about it, but only the multiplayer, Campaign looked so uninteresting. I just don't have enough money to get something like it, especially when I still haven't got things like Metro 2033, RDR, and Black Ops and Halo Reach are on the way.

Oh right, they made freedom fighters! I forgot about that one, that rocked as well.

This game has online coop though, so I don't get that argument. Also, ew black ops.

I actually liked the demo for the Kane And Lynch 2. Seems like it might be a decent game to me, but I'll probably wait for some reviews before I make a decision. Even then, I'll probably only pick it up when it inevitably becomes half off on Steam.

The original was touted as being amazing right around the release date out of nowhere. It turned out decidedly meh.
I'm open to the idea of it being good but I'm not on the edge of my seat.

Remove the 2 from the title and there is your answer. The original was a huge disappointment so people aren't all that hyped about a sequel. Who knows hopefully it'll pull an Assanins Creed on us?
