Is it feeding time? Or do you need to be burped?
Dude asked why no one heard of the game, what else do they have to say besides "Haven't heard of it" do you want them to post a day by day log of how many times they didn't hear of it?

Was watching TV. No Shattered Horizon ads.
Feb 11th 6:00PM
No SH ads in People magazine.
Precisely, he asked why people aren't getting exited about it. It's not a simple yes/no question as many seem to think. If I apply it to something else it seems stupid:

"Why haven't you heard of ColdPlay?"
"Never heard of them."
"Yeah but why?"
"Never heard of them."

See? That's what I'm annoyed about in that respect. If someone asks a question you know nothing about, you don't pitch in by saying you know nothing about it, you just don't comment.

Alright, I'm done crying now.
Your example uses a radically different question.
"Why aren't you excited about Coldplay?"
"Never heard of them."
That is a fine answer, you can't really ask someone to elaborate because they don't really have a reason why they never heard of coldplay. They didn't know they existed so they couldn't have intentionally looked up information about it, and if they didn't look at the right media sources at the right time to see advertisement then it's not their fault.
Alright, alright, calm down. I see what you mean now. You're right.
Don't take all this the wrong way, I don't normally pick on things like this. Just need to vent. I'd say 3,770 posts without doing so is a pretty good indicator that I don't normally indulge in complaining.

This is actually the first time I've heard of Shattered Horizon. And while I'm not creaming my pants, it does look really great and I'll be sure to pick up a copy.

Btw... did they just blow a part of the moon off?! This could be the MW2 space mission that never was lol.

for anyone who has Steam Shattered Horizon has a free weekend, please go and download it and try it.

I'll be the first to admit this game isn't perfect it could use some more weapons and the game play similar no matter the game type. BUT, it's also original and something you probably won't see again for a while.

The game itself is on sale through steam (the only place you can get it) for only 10 bucks which I plan on buying after this free weekend is over.

if you don't have steam download it here: http://store.steampowered.com/
and make an account it's really quick also you can buy a ton of games through the steam store for usually pretty good prices plus they have deals basically every day of the week so if you wait long enough you can buy some of their games cheap.

but seriously this game is incredible. Also go into it with an open mind like your going to play a game in space where you shoot people, not a game where you shoot people that happens to be in space. I've seen at least 8 people say this game sux I'm going back to MW2 because they couldn't get a hang of the controls because they refused to read the tutorial on the opening screen. Seriously do it you'll find out some useful stuff, like the different grenades how to run silent and how to go up and down as well as left right and rotating.

that's all from me I hope you all check it out

Wow that looks really cool, although I got really disorientated towards the end when they kept switching which surfaces they were on.

Shattered Horizon has now recieved a "content update" called "Moonrise" with a couple of new maps, which really breathed life into the game again IMO, these new maps seem to exploit SHs strengths better than the old ones, with more odd angles, lights and shadows to hide in etc.

Yeah, it totally makes sense for the bullets to move as fast as they do on Earth...
SH has histcan, ie, the bullet hits when you press the "fire" button... But just out of curiousty, how do you recon a bullet moves in space?

I still don't understand why you're all complaining about the system requirements. I have a $70 pentium dual core processor overclocked to 3.1 GHZ and an Nvidia 9500 GT (also overclocked slightly) and the game runs fine. Hell, anyone who's bought/built a computer in the past three years can probably run this.

I just bought it last night, and for $10, it's great. I've paid a lot more for worse games than this.

I don't think there's enough hype because not a lot of us have heard of it... Thanks for showing a few videos of it.. It looks interesting!

I own it. Not really such a superb game; only one gun, very little variety in the shooting aspects. The levels might actually be more fun if there were more design sense to them. Currently it's difficult to form strategic attacks when your field is just "a bunch of insignificant floating rocks, all of which can see most others". I'd really like to see something more organized; ie, a large room with specifically created pieces of cover, tight areas where ground fighting is required, etc.

Not an expert on the subject of guns or space, but if something is propelled in space it would move at the same velocity until it hits something.

OT: I own the game, my friend bought it for me as a gift this weekend, I love it. There are 2 guns contrary to popular belief (at least, in my opinion the sniper rifle counts as it's own gun). The freedom of movement is pretty sweet, the leveling system is pointless but fun, it looks great, and the 3 songs the game does have are epic. I'll probably lose interest after a few months unless there are new maps out, but that is longer then it took me to loose interest in MW2.

I know of it only because it's made by a finnish company, who are responsible of 3dmark, for all us hardware billies to enjoy. Futuremark's focused on 3D graphics first and foremost, so it's no surprise if their first ever game is going to be shiny but shallow.

I was going to buy it at release, I like shiny things, and I thought the concept was good, but I realized it needed DirectX 10. Now I have a DX10 compatible OS, but I don't have the money (20e).

Looks like a barrel of noclip fun. I'd play it if my lappy could actually run it.

Unless those are space guns that use some other propulsion system, gunpowder-oriented weapons are useless in space.
No atmosphere= no oxygen= no combustion= no shooting.

Played this on a friend's rig (hard drive and network card died on my laptop and I'm too poor to replace it). ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. If you have not played it, it is ridiculously cheap for how brilliant a game it is. I sincerely hope that they make more (if it had single player and was advertised, there would be no stopping it).

Turning off your suit to float silently among asteroids in space and try to snipe is an experience that is hard to beat. The sound even goes away when your suit is off (normal gunfire and other sounds are explained as synthesised sounds from your suit to help orient you better).
