Why would you want the NPCs to finish the game for you?

Edit: Let me rephrase that. Because if the NPCs could do things for you, it wouldn't be much of a game.

It's the same reason why Leftenant Price, the less experienced soldier, got to take the shot on Imran Zakhaev. The player gets to do everything.
Actually IRL the more experienced soldier is the spotter.
Well, he was taught how to snipe by Captain MacMillan, so I figured that Macmillan was better at it. "Remember what I taught you. Take into account variable humidity and wind speed along the bullet's flight path. At this distance, you'll also have to take the Coriolis effect into account."
No amount of training can replace experience.

How about every shooter ever.
Not quite, the old Medal of Honor games had you alone behind enemy lines. Forget about NPC's, almost every mission you were free to accomplish however you wanted.

Why me Mr NPC? Because You're either a secret government experiment, The best soldier who ever lived on the planet or just some guy who can resist 10 hits to his head for some reason

The NCP's aren't as stupid as you think.

I want a game thats completely immersive. A battle in which your a sargent perhaps with a squad. The game lets the battle go on naturally till it recognises something is going against you.
"Bunker on the left reaping a large tally, take it down."
At this point you can continue the fight by not responding and letting you equelly equiped and smart allies take care of it or you can have the glory of saying down the radio "i got it" and diving in with your squad. It should let you choose your objectives depending on importance. If you do none you definately lose.

Why do I have to drive every fucking time?
Do you really want them driving?
Wait, why would it be that bad? Set a waypoint that they drive to, it finds the road-path to that point. Then, they drive as though you shot the car, and you shoot away.
