Why Most Girls are better in Language Arts and Guys Math

The reason I saw this in my school was because the guys tended to be very lazy and thus Language Arts was less work and overall easier than math.Ibanez887 said:

yeah, most engineers are men while more than half administrators are women. why? i guess thats just how it goes.
The behavioral perspective is that there is no inherent psychological difference and that any difference is the result of cultural conditioning- that girls are encouraged to develop communication skills early in life (I.E. to play "tea parties" and so on) whereas boys are encouraged to develop logical skills with games like football (calculation of angles, choosing the correct team-mate to pass to, etc.) However, based on personal experiance (as the topic post seems to be), I have never noticed a difference of this kind. Other posters seem to agree.
Interesting topic, it's one I think about in my spare time now and then. I've found that pretty much any specifically female feature can be lead back to the fact that they give birth - which has essentially pushed them into the raising-the-child function which has led them to develop a less agile body but a better susceptability to everything that has to do with communication and emotions.
As to why guys are better in math... Maybe it's because men are more logical than women in that they tend to go straight for their target rather than trying to 'lure' others into giving them what they need to know (Yes "I am so fat!" ladies, I'm talking about you!). It's something I'll have to give more thought, anyway.
As a disclaimer: yes, I realize that single mothers aren't per definition "more emotionally evolved" than men or such. Obviously each person differs and not everything I'm stating there works right here and now. I'm thinking evolution, something that has come into being over the course of ten thousands of years.

For counter examples, which a lot of people are giving; a girl in my class got a bunch of math things right or something, and she even got a certificate or something from the University of Waterloo.

It's almost as if people are individuals with variation in aptitudes that dwarfs any correlation between those aptitudes and gender, but who might focus on subjects they think that they would be good at because of the social expectations of their gender.
