Too many weak titles, for one. For two, it is responsible for 'games' (and I use the term lightly) like The New Super Mario Bros. series and Metroid: Other M. Though of course the coup de gras of crap poertaining to the Wii is motion controls. At least they began to ditch them towards the end of the consoles lifespan, finally realising it is as bad as everyone says it is. On that note, I like to think the Wii inspired the Kinect and the PS Move and all of the shovelware for each.

I still love my Wii. Sure, there's a lot of titles that don't interest me, but when I do find a gem (No More Heroes, Skyward Sword, Super Mario Galaxy, etc.) they're better than most of the games I have on any other console.

The New Super Mario Bros series started on the DS and played much better with the DS's SNES type controller layout.

I just played it once at a friends house.
The graphics were bad, the camera in every game a mess, the controls were unresponsive and illusive at the same time.
It was just no fun at all.
Then again i don't plan on ever buying any console, so what do i know.

Boom, yeh, actually you're right. Those Wii controls were...kind of junk. I blame it on the controller design, mainly. Which happens to be another reason people dislike the Wii.

Honestly? Most games motion controls were completely half-assed. I only play a select few games on my Wii, Twilight Princess, Prime 3: Corruption, the original Mario Galaxy... mostly Nintendo releases because they are franchises I love. The rest of the games for the most part can go away. I haven't bought a new Wii game in several years.

The big problems were that it just wasn't the the same as the Xbox and PS3 in terms of what it was, it had terrible online support, a hard to navigate store for first time users and a very... interesting friends system. This gen was all about online play and the Wii just didn't have that and was harshly looked down upon for it. Oh and it lacked HD graphics processing... which is the same as the other two consoles, but it lacked the smoothing algorithms used by the PS3 and 360s that made up for that. It just... was in it's own class and lacked what was in demand in this gen of games consoles.

That and it was family-oriented...

Giving us a reason for Nintendo censoring shit doesn't change anything I said. In 1992, every game was marketed to children.
True. Clearly that wasn't a good thing because ESRB had to be created so that Adult game makers couldn't market to children, but your words are true regardless. Still, a little insight is nice ever now and then.
Wut?

I don't believe we're thinking about the same 1992. Even besides Wolfenstein 3D, there were still other adult games around.

Nintendo has always been more kiddie than it's competition. That didn't start with the Wii. You can think back to the Mortal Kombat controversy on the SNES and the Genesis but even before that Nintendo has always tried to keep anything they consider "adult" out of games released in the US. Don't know about Europe but in Japan where a game might show a church, Nintendo would censor it for the US to show a school instead. Nudity was the same way, I think there was some nudity in Final Fantasy VI that got censored for the US and then the nudity was put back into the game when it was re-released on the PS1.
And yet... Conker's Bad Fur Day. Compare that to Conker: Live & Reloaded for the original X-Box. I find this rather ironic. On the other hand, they seem to be censoring The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time more and more with each re-release. It won't be long before the cutscene that shows the death of those two witches is changed entirely.

For me, it's mainly because of the controls. I don't want to have to swing my arm around like a moron to play games, especially since my room isn't that big, and with the games that don't make me do that... well, whoever designed the Wii remote probably hasn't heard of ergonomics before. Either that or my hands are weird.
Also not many of the games really interest me. I really want to play No More Heroes, The Last Story and Xenoblade Chronicles, but they'd probably end up the only Wii games I own.

Just as the title says why do you guys think the Nintendo Wii has no love everybody i know hate's it so much but i love mine so it brings me too the question how do you feel about the Wii?
The fairly awkward, unique, and ultimately inaccurate control scheme simply made it near impossible to design "standard" games for the thing.

The only titles that were of any value were the ones developed BY Nintendo, and even some of those were a bit hit-or-miss.

Not to mention that system was clearly underpowered, preventing the top titles in the world from having a chance at being ported. I'm sure games like Skyrim would have been great fun to play on the Wii, but that it simply had no chance to successfully run on it.

I got a Wii first day it was released. I played Metroid Prime 3 on it, I played Twilight Princess on it (didn't end up finishing either title), after that...I lost interest in the system. Having to "flail" my arms around, which usually resulting in more or less random input got old pretty quickly.

Its sat collecting dust for years now, I have no reason to plug it it when I have so many great games that use a traditional controller, which I VASTLY prefer. You simply cannot compete with the precision of a hand-held traditional controller against waving your arms around like a moron, lol.

I won't be buying a WiiU, got a really good feeling that system is gonna fall flat on its face. The novelty of movement controls faded quickly, and those people who enjoy it the most (the super-casuals) aren't interested in replacing their Wii in the first place.

I didn't like it because it didn't have anything worth playing, it seemed to stop actually putting out games after like a month and instead focused on pumping out workout simulators and minigame collections.

I don't think you'll find much love for any console among the PC Market, due to the fact that this console generation has taken forever to end, and still has no real end in sight. Even the Wii U is just a Wii with the graphics of an Xbox 360. Wii most of all gets hate for starting a trend of gimmick over substance. For every golden Wii game there is a dozen shovelware games just used for capitalizing on the waggle mechanics.

Also, it is very obviously at fault for creating the Kinect and the Move which also feature a few good games piled on top of gimmick games. It's very sad that the console wars ended, the consoles all seem to be content with sitting on their hands and not bringing anything new to the table. Meanwhile making PC users deal with 7 year old graphics limitations from consoles.

I don't think you get what I'm saying. Unlike Wolfenstein 3D and Doom, the former I couldn't find any commercial for, and Doom clearly not advertising their games to children [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQaro-yjBqI], Akklaim and Midway were advertising Mortal Kombat to Kids. Doom and Wolfenstein did not advertise to children. Mortal Kombat Did. Because of this, parents were outraged, and thus the stupid Senate Hearings happened that caused ESRB to be created.

I don't really get it either. I love my Wii. I've had it since my 10th or 11th birthday and I've never had issues with it.

Wii Sports is pretty fun, Brawl is awesome, and I can still play my Gamecube games on it which is a definite plus.

You love your Wii for 2 games in 6 years? Well, atleast you could understand that most people have higher standards.

1: Put a Gamecube in a rectangular box.
2: Make it use horrible motion controls.
3: Get rid of all third party support.
4: ??? (trust the idiocy of the consumer)
5: Profit (for a time, then post the first loss in company history)

Well, I tried to play legend of zelda TP but couldn't play for more than two hours because my arms started to hurt, then the controls were awkward and didn't feel good. Then I realized I could play games in HD, and that they were objectively better for not having waggle. Then I tried to play Ocarina of time downloaded from the market but the classic controller felt awkward and was not fun to use. Then I got smash bros and tried to play it online and it was awful. Then I got a ps3 and played a lot of good games and realized I didn't enjoy the wii. Then I went back to the wii to try and play madworld, and man that wouldve been a GREAT GAME if it had been on ps3 or 360. Then I tried playing Epic mickey and lost all faith and hope for the wii and decided to just say screw it and ignore it completely.

So yeah, underpowered system with half baked connectivity and an interesting controller idea that just doesn't work well for anything past waggle games. Yes, motion plus helped, but not enough.

I am hoping for the Wii U to be promising, but I really doubt it. I'll just wait for the next gen boxes to arrive, or simply upgrade my pc for the same price as a new console.

in this particular case however....as a PC gamer you could at least say the PS3 and XBOX are functional..if you absolutly had to have one as your primary platform....plus a few good games you can't get on PC gaming

the way I see it multiplatform is where its at, exclusives are ok but really not enough to rely on entirly

when it comes down to it, I can still play a big list of fantastic games on the Xbox/PS3 (and plenty still coming out)

unless your a hardocre Nintendo fan the Wii really offers nothing at all

EDIT: and when you really think about it what the fuck is so great about those nintendo games anyway? I mean sure Mario...wooo...but seriously mabye thease days I want somthing more compelling than rescuing the princess from the castle

ok sure Metroid is fucking brilliant buuuut...Other M...

you know.....its beginning to look alot like Apple.....the Wii U just might sell

even if it seems stupid (To be fair though I wouldnt Judge the Wii U as much as I would judge apple products)
