Hey,don't get me wrong, I love the Ruskies just as much as the next guy (Vodka anyone?) they are just the only competent country to actually make a dent into america if America were to ever be invaded.

My (other) theory is that it is the battle of the fittest. Look at it this way, neither countries have ever been conquered (Napoleon and Hitler for Russia, Britain for America), so it all boils down to who is the best at staying unconquerable. Which just makes for a good game.

To be fair, England wasn't really trying to conquer us as much as they were trying to get back their stolen property. But we stole it too good. And then we messed up their language.

I wouldn't say that it would be a stupid move for Russia to oppose America. After all, between them and the Middle East they could cripple American industry by cutting off important oil supplies and Russia is just as technologically advanced as America, if not a tad behind.

It was more a dig against America, as in "Who would be stupid enough to WANT America" although I could see how it could be misread.

I'm sure alot of countries would like to ATTACK America, but occupation? Too much hassle.

Georgia and Afghanistan come to mind. The point is, trying to say that one country should be immediately condemned when there isn't a single damned country in the world who isn't guilty of a war crime is a little hypocritical.

On the other hand it warms the heart - poor bastards are still afraid of us, Russians. We still have nuclear weapons and some advanced types of rockets, the ones you can't defend from.

Lucky, ide be trilingual right now if our spanish teacher had half a brain. But yea my parents and grandparents spoke to me in Russian since i was a little kid so i guess it kinda came naturally, but i digress, it does kinda piss me off that Russia is always used as the villain, ide just like to c some depth in it u know like maybe more of a clash of ideologies being put aside to battle an even greater threat, like WW2 again but with Aliens or Zombies

Ha very good point. The Russians are a safe bad guy in most western countries, which really really bugs a russian guy I know(doesnt stop him buying the games though). What the naughty people are doing nowadays is 'waaay too baaaad' to put into video games.

To answer your question, yes, game writers have TOTALLY RUN OUT OF IDEAS. You will never ever see another fun, innovative game in your entire life. The best thing for you to do is piss and moan about the similarity of current games and then quit playing them.

Seriously, 90% of the games back then were knock-offs and a shitload of them did really well.
