In fact, about the only time I think about the WiiU is when someone starts saying, "Omigosh, why do you all hate the WiiU so much?!"
Pretty much.

When's the last time you saw a thread titled 'This is why the Wii-U sucks' or 'Nintendo is for dumb babies'?

It's the fans that incessantly keep asking 'Why won't you like the Wii-U/Nintendo?', and then complain when they don't like the answers people are giving. Just stop these constant "Wii-U/Nintendo sympathy" threads and the "hate" will die down as well, at least here.
Pretty much this. I actually dislike Nintendo fans, at this point. They seem to be constantly complaining about people hating Nintendo. I swear there's at least one of these threads every week. I have yet to see a thread titled "The Wii U is a piece of garbage and Nintendo is a shit company" with the thread then explaining why this is. And yet, if you raise even valid issues with a Nintendo system, the fan boys cry about how you are a horrible "hater".

I have no interest in the system one way or another, but I'm sick of the Nintendo faithful complaining about something that literally does not exist here. You'd probably find plenty of people who actually have great memories of Nintendo and enjoy some of their classic games, if you looked. Far more than these alleged haters. And having seen the comments of those supposed haters on this site, I can safely say that they don't exist.

So can we put these annoying "Y U hate Nintendo, bro?" threads to rest? Can we add a rule that has these locked the instant they open?

Here's an idea for a thread! "Nintendo is awesome, because..."
Try posting that. I don't think I've seen that one, yet. Nor have I seen a Playstation or Xbox version, for the record. But at least it would be different.

I don't really care for the WiiU.

My problem is simply that a lot of the game I'd want to play, are either released on the 3DS, or not released in Europe at all. Or both.

If Nintendo made more effort to get their developers to publish games in markets other than Glorious Japan, I'd be willing to consider buying it, but, as it stands, the rehashing of ancient IPs I never cared for isn't going to cut it for me.

That's a pretty damn big flaw for a,you know, gaming console.

OT: there is a lot of valid complaints, but the lack of games is my bigest one. I like games, not announcement of games to come.
Which the other two consoles also have, so at least it's in good company

Did I ever say it was a small flaw? Did I, at any point, say that it was a good console because it only had that one flaw?

No. I said it's the only flaw, which is true.
Not quite so. Region locking. Archaic nonsense that needs to be done away with. It would vastly improve people's experience on Nintendo systems. Especially for localizations that never happen. And it really makes no sense on the 3DS. It's a portable system. You can take it anywhere, including other countries.
The 3DS isn't the Wii U.

And you can't hold the Wii U accountable for region locking when it's on almost all other consoles. I'm also going to disregard where you say "archaic nonsense", because you're being very obscure. What's archaic? where's the nonsense? That argument is as effective as saying "it's good because it's good"
Region locking is only on Nintendo products. Playstation does not do this. Xbox One was going to but they scrapped it. So, no, it's not on the other consoles. At all. It's a Nintendo exclusive!

Any console not on this list? Region locked.
Uhh... You do realise that the PS4 and Xbone are on that list, right?

Those are the only two that are really relevant at this stage, and likely the only consoles anyone is going to talk about in comparison with the WiiU.

Almost all other consoles? PSP, PS3, PS4 and Vita are all region free. If I wanted to pick up some obscure japanese title that has no chance of making it's way here, I can do so.

It's archaic, because say I move to Europe, and would like to locally purchase games for my North American Wii U. Oh wait, nope, I can't.

Speaking of which, I know European gamers who occasionally import NA systems just to play Nintendo titles that take too long to get over there or don't at all.

Also, why do people think catering to a younger audience is inherently a bad thing?

I've heard people complain about the Wii U's online infrastructure. What is so bad about it?

Nope. They're not the only ones that are relevant.
In terms of mainstream home consoles, yes, they are. You're just being difficult for the sake of being difficult at this point, dude.

I personally dont hate on the Wii U and plan to buy one at some point.

If as you said people just ignored it, then Nintendo would have less of an idea on what to improve. They hopefully do some market research... and if the overwhelming feeling is that the Wii U is a shit console for kids and hard core Nintendo fans. Then they will take notice and do something about it, like try and get more 3rd party developers involved. Like Koei with Hyrule warriors.

Life isn't all smiles and gumdrops and its a lot better for it. If we treated Nintendo like a friend we didn't want to offend then the Wii U wouldn't improve at all, dont worry about Nintendo's feelings they are a bloody company. Constructive criticism is vital to the improvement of products. Sure we don't need immature criticisms! the ideal thing to do would be to say what you don't like and what you would like, so Nintendo could get rid of the bad and focus on the good.
Except anyone who's been on the internet long enough knows that's a load of bull. There is NO constructive criticism when it comes to this, it's just a bunch of people kicking and screaming on the floor until get their way. Unfortunately, as I said earlier, Nintendo also has the problem of trying to figure out which voices to listen to, because "gamers" have shown time and time again that even THEY don't know what they want. It's kind of hard to act accordingly when the disparate, fractured audiences all over the place can't reach a consensus or just constantly throw out mixed, contradictory signals that do nothing to help. If anything Nintendo should just ignore the screeching and just do what they've always done. The fact that they even tolerate the spoiled, immature, whinging layabouts that are gamers sure means they're a lot better people than I am.

What can Nintendo do to get people to buy their console? The people who will buy MK8 and Smash probably already have a Wii U. Could X and Bayonetta 2 help?

Nintendo should also work on getting accounts. A couple of months ago, I had to get a new tower for my computer. I would have been PISSED if I had to make a new account on the forums I go to.

You know you and Shinji could just not click on those thread and not start typing to join in the conversation using your very will to do so?.

Also thread titles that are designed to deliberately piss off a large group of people usually get locked, titles like "Wii U sucks balls" would get locked in moments or should at least, that's why you don't see those types around because they are outright designed to piss off more than a few, that's common sense really to not make a thread with a deliberate annoying title.

Titles like "Why you hate nintendo/U, why you they have to go third party?" are not deliberate annoying titles, slightly agitating at best but by no means as worse as "sucks" titles.

I'm also sick and tired of PC fans, always blaming and hating consoles and their reasons to exist along with the fanbase, I see that shit every time in almost every thread to do with a game on here, Blaze blu's recent thread had people asking for PC ports, even though the devs of the game won't visit this site and that thread and it;s already been made known that it's currently going to be PS3 exclusive so why bother typing that question out?.

Then there's those that technologically shit on hardware you're using that isn't hardware they're using with the constant spam of two words "inferior/superior", even though there's a massive vocabulary of words out there for other types of description those two words get used the most that it becomes downright insulting.

If anything it'd be easier for you and Shinji to ignore such Nintendo threads by not clicking on them and typing, for me however it's not the same since any thread here will mostly devolve into some PC vs console debate whether it be hardware and software or which dirty console is holding them games "hostage" as if they were damn dirty terrorists,

As for the Wii U, right now it is in a very bad situation, Iwata himself has said that, and it honestly seems like they aren't doing anything to really fix that other than saying "Wii U is in a bad shape and we need to do better." Thing is, we all know Nintendo can do way better with advertising the thing to disspell the notion that the Wii U isn't just an expensive GamePad add-on for the Wii, which is still a problem apparently and Nintendo even made an add to try and fix any confusion. However, it seems that they've honestly not changed anything much when it comes to it, because advertising for the system is still completely non-existent to the point in which one must question are they even trying at all?
I remember those commercials. They were everywhere. It did exactly what it was supposed too and in the early years they made so much bank that no one could find one because of a shortage. If nothing else can be said about Iwata at least he stays the course and sticks to his guns. Not sure if you read it but there was an article that popped up a week or so ago about one of Nintendo's investors saying they should move Mario to smart phones saying microtransactions to make Mario jump a little higher would make the company millions. The comment section then proceeded say they wanted to punch him in the face and Iwata is firm on not having Mario and crew go whole hog onto iPhones and pulling crap like that. Taking a giant pay cut for the mess the Wii U became instead of laying off thousands. He's the captain that will go down with the ship rather than abandon everyone else to save himself or sell his soul to the devil.

At this stage in the game I look at Nintendo as the stubborn old man in an action movie. Been doing this for a while, knows the ropes, hits a stumbling block in their life causing a set back, but ultimately adapting because they are just too damn stubborn to go down without a fight.

They'll pull it out. They may take a few hits but they'll come out. Learn something and then move forward.

A point I'd like to bring up on this actually.

As A PC gamer, I really actually commend Nintendo for trying to do something different for consoles rather than essentially trying to make overly expensive and mediocre PCs.

Nintendo offers something different, something I can't (Without excessive effort, at present.) get on the PC. And that's probably why they're always been at least slightly interesting for me.

Nintendo consoles are priced reasonably for what they are and don't pretend to be something they're not.

Unfortunately, there's a distinct lack of games I'd actually want to play beyond the Monster Hunter series, however.

Yeah, I agree. They should really advertise more. The Wii U is in a weird state in the moment. People aren't making games because of low sales, low sales is the reason its not getting games. Where did all the money from the Wii go?
The audience for the Wii has long since moved on to smartphones and tablets. That's kind of the problem with targeting the more casual gamer as it were: the sort of person who plays occasionally, likes simple games, and isn't heavily invested in playing games as a hobby. As soon as the new it thing comes around they vanish in the blink of an eye.

And if most of them are anything like my parents (who bought a Wii), they own tablets so they can play something simple WHILE watching TV and see no need for a console that they don't even understand, and doesn't offer them anything they care about that they don't already have.

Uhh, people know the developer isn't going to read the comments on an English gaming forum. They're just expressing their hopes for a PC port. There's nothing wrong with that.
