Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian.....they make this thing called life an imbalanced equation. They shove karma in buddhas face and then shit stomp on the fat guy. I beg for something bad to happen to them and Lohan is the closest I have, but she keeps evading capture worse than a fucking chansey. Grrrrrrrrrr...(rant)
So what do you think, would you jail her? She stole an expensive necklace or something and keeps missing court dates and community service and still gets chances......in short, shit be whack yo.

The same double-standard that allows celebrities to openly admit to drug abuse, drink driving and assault. It's bullshit and frankly celebrities should face harsher penalties as they're in the public eye and in many cases are role models for children and young people.

Meh. I know of people in my personal life who have done far worse and haven't served much time in the slammer.

Anyway, a part of the reason is because of how much money she has. She can afford to buy the best legal representation available and that makes a huuuuuuge difference.

People need someone they can look down on or gossip about. That would seem to be the only purpose to most people like this. Of course they could actually have talent that they are just not using. The optimist in me would love to think that there is a group of lawyers and PR men somewhere swimming in money telling them what stupid thing they are doing next.

I'm not so sure a "regular" person would have gotten it harder than Lohan. Money is tight, and it gets tighter putting people in jail for minor things. She's just white trash committing minor offenses that nobody really cares about except to gawk at.

Because she's a celebrity (lol) and everyone knows celebrities get special treatment. You see lots of celebrities think they are above us the commoners. So they have this elitist attitude and believe money and name dropping will get them out of everything. And as we've seen it usually does. If they ever do spend time in jail its in a private cell away from the other inmates. They also get special privileges normal inmates would never get. Most of the time however they're confined to house arrest in their mansions and only allowed out for shopping.

Sad really.

Well, to be fair. A celebrity would get singled out and possibly targeted by the other inmates pretty quickly.

Apparently its worse for them to be alone for their sentances. At least the other inmates get to socialise and go outside!

You nailed it. In recent years it almost seems like the media is glamorizing things like rehab clinics and whatnot. I can understand athlete's not giving a fuck since there are many ____ball and, other sport-players who admit they don't see themselves as/ don't want to be seen as role models. Celebrities though, especially the SSWs (consult South Park) like Lohan are celebrities who have appeared in media AIMED AT CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS.
