Personally, I feel very strongly about the saying "Might makes right". I can't think of any problem that can't be solved with force, granted enough is applied. Thats just the way the world works, isn't it? I think so.
My two cents, anyway.
so what your saying is if someones problem is that they need money, and they shoot you in the face, and take yours, then their answer to their problem is correct because they utilized enough force to solve it.
might doesn't make right, it just solves a problem by starting another one.
How would that make another problem? Wouldn't I be dead? If so, I have nothing to worry about! Certainly not a problem for me, anyways.
see i thought you would have a "problem" with dieing, but if your cool with being shot in the face i guess its a win win. Still just for arguments sake lets say his problem isn't that he needs money as much as he needs someone to beat up, and ass-rape. let us also say for arguments sake that he has the necessary "might" needed to make this dream a reality. would you still think him right simple because he has the brute force to accomplish this, and would you not now have a problem, that being a sore ass and a beat up self?
To clarify, I have a problem with the DYING part, not so much the BEING DEAD part, don't think I'd be too upset about being dead.
As for the rest of your post... Well, guess I should get a concealed carry license, eh? Carry an equalizer with me. Lets see this hypothetical brawler/rapist and all around crazy person make it a reality now!
To be completely serious though, I see the point you're getting at, but the way I see it, it's kind of a vicious cycle, isn't it? This person is out to mug/beat/rape you, and I really doubt you're going to be able to just talk him down. Which is then when you get violent as well, for the sake of your own well being.
I wish the world was peaceful, and I didn't have to worry about getting shot/stabbed/beat to death walking around the city, but thats reality, thats how it's always been, and I can't see it changing any time soon. So for the way things are... I don't see it being all that horrible, hell, violence can be used for a noble purpose, can't it? Lets set up a scenario of my own:
You're walking down the street, and in a nearby alley, you can hear a woman screaming for help, and somebody is assaulting said woman, would you not rush to her aid? Which would entail you committing an act of violence on the woman's attacker, thus preventing death/serious injury on her? I would. This is when violence can be used for good things. So yes, I think in most cases might does make right.
My two cents, anyway.
EDIT: If any part of my post seems hard to understand, I apologize. Pulling an all nighter, mind is getting hazy.
