"Why do so many people and press think it's garbage ? i watched it with great skepticism and noticed that this was actually a great movie with only one flaw ( Longer then expected )"

I guess you're the target audience.

I disliked the first one for being juvenile. I suspect that the second one will be very similar, but I can always hope that I'm wrong. I'm probably going to go see it anyways, so I really hope that people aren't making a big fuss for no reason.
You expected Transformers to be mature? Really? It was a silly 80's cartoon based on toys and you really went expecting Macbeth?

That can be applied to both sides of this issue. However, that is not true, as people on both sides have given detailed reasons to support their opinions.

i haven't seen the movie, but I'm judging it on the first and what some critics have said. It sounds like it's the same as the first, so I would hate it (though some say it is somehow worse than the first). Plus it has a two and a half hour running time. That's a really long fucking time, and if the movie turns out to be shit then I would have to sit through all of that.

When any thing that is near and dear to so many peoples hearts is exploited by the heartless movie studios people feel its their duty to protect it by hating the end result. Or people just dont have anything better to do than pretend like their dislike of something will change the outcome, and then of course blame the "stupid" populous for making it popular and a financial success. Thats my theory anyway, also people love to jump on the band wagon.
He's right.
I thought those 2 new robots were awesome. They called the geek a pussy, it was hilarious :D

. Far to long for its style
. The fact every line is a crap pun

Need I go on...(my opinion: do not quote me and ***** because I didn't like the film)

I dislike Transformers because it's demeaning to the term human intelligence.

Have you ever heard of media that makes you think? No? Ok then. Case closed.

I just find it interesting that people rip so unbelievably on alot of movies, Transformers included. Some people just want to see giant robots beating the oil out of each other, that's the point. Yet, I've seen over and over people saying that the dialouge is crap, suspect acting, poor jokes, etc. This ain't Shakespeare y'all. There are plenty of great movies out there with good writing, acting, direction, etc.(most of them British) It's Transformers, after all, a modern movie, based off a cartoon, based off a toy line from the 80's. Watch and enjoy for what it is is my philosophy.

I liked the movie, but and thought it was good. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it seemed a bit more low brow. Like the consistent potty jokes and the very atttractive and suggestive dancing seen at the college party or Megan Fox's entrance. I'm sixteen and yeah there were some laughs at those jokes, but a lot of them weren't taht funny, I can't lie I did like girls, sorry but it was good. Still a good movie, but the first one wasn't like that.

I went to see it knowing the storyline would be crap and all the other shit that I expect from a Michael Bay movie.

But I went to see it for close ups of Megan Foxes ass and giant robots. I could cope with the lame parts of the film.

Only thing that really got to me was the running length and the god awful back from the dead miracle scene of Shias character.

Also the Transformers cartoons were just the usual animated crap from that time, but as kid you think everything is awesome.
This pretty much sums up my attitude. I'm not a child of the 80's and aside from some ultra-cheesy moments (the army guys with 'if I told you I'd have to kill you' on their uniforms thing and the twin 'ghetto' transformers) it's really not that bad.

What's the alternative? Who would want a dark brooding Transformers? Who would want a drama about giant mecha fighting each other as well as fighting their own character flaws and spending more time in self-pity and philosophising than kicking the living shit out of each other and their environment...

Macbeth? No. But I wasn't expecting an extreme reliance on poor humor.

Transformers was corny at times to be sure, but toilet jokes? Really?

Transformers 2 has to be one of the most godawful stupid movies I've ever seen in like...ever. I'm not lying. And I also found it a little bit on the condescending side towards latinos. Not racist, mind you, but, quoting my main man Ali-G, a little "racialist" in how it handled its stereotypes. But honestly I didn't care that much, and neither did people in the audience--some of them even claped at the end.

The movie sucks and its stupid, but it is also fun in a very dumb way. Not everyone goes to the movies to be enlightened or moved. Some of us just wanna see shit blow up and know from the beginning what we are getting ourselves into. It's not a concidence the movie has already recouped its hefty budget already.

If there is a Transformers 3: Return of The Sybian, and it is just as stupid as this one count me in.

I am just saying I have yet to see any details and I won't trust (or read at this point) a movie critcs review because a movie crtic can't review movies correctly. he go and review a movie like Binjamin Button one day and then Underworld the next, Movies have genres and you can't review all of them under the same system. A movie critc needs to know what to look for in a certin genre of movie and not try to review any other kind of movie. For example if you know what a good romance movie is supposed to be don't be reviewing a horror movie, stick with romace. That is how the system should be. About every crtic who reviewed Transformers 2 was looking for something (although I can't imaagine what) other than what the movie was about and the result is bad reviews and one of the best movies this year, based off of sales mind you.

Because Michael Bay swindled the general public yet again and people are angry about being duped into seeing another Michael Bay movie.

The jokes also made it suck. Apparently I'm supposed to laugh at robo-testicles, poor drug references and the use of the word "pussy". Action sequences were jerky and unfocused as well.

Michael Bay, I thank you for raping my childhood a second time. My hat is off to you.

I saw a few hours ago.It was meh.

The twins were funny to any with the mind of a 10 year old and got old fast. The jokes in general were pretty bad. The action scene were good but it felt like they were...missing something. Like in the first one you couldn't tell what the hell was going on but here it felt like "Oh an action scene" instead of the last one which was like "HOLY TITS AWESOME". Not to mention the fight scenes were over pretty quickly. The forest fight was about 3 minutes long and the final battle with Megatron(?) and the Fallen was over in like a minute(Real fuckin epic). Also it was WAY too long and boring.

And what was up with the Lion King scene were Sam goes to fuckin robot heaven(not even kidding)and talks to the Primes Mufasa style? And all the plot holes too. How in the name of God did the government cover-up the Autobots? I mean there were GIANT FUCKING ROBOTS fighting in the MIDDLE OF L.A AND SHANG-FREAKIN-HIGH. I could go into more detail but I don't want to spoil anything.

Actually I didn't realize how bad this movie is until I typed this out.

TL;DR: This movie is a 4/10 at best(And I really liked the first one).

I enjoyed the movie, but that's not why I'm here.

Stop with the racism card. The twins were robots. One was green and the other was red. Nowhere was it stated that they were black. You're just assuming they were supposed to be because of how they acted and spoke.

Which is racist.

I have already placed my opinion of this movie in the thread about the same thing (but that one has a poll), just here to see if anyone decided to plajurise my thoughts... evidently no, not yet. Cos' not to brag, but I basically hit the nail on the head.

Oh and there are WAY too many people talking about Transformers 2 hate in different threads.
