I decided to google all this.
Apparently few people don't even know what "Furry" means. Even furries have different version of furries.
you may want to read this: http://en.wikifur.com/wiki/Furry
and this: http://en.wikifur.com/wiki/Anthropomorphic
and this is what feral furs are: http://en.wikifur.com/wiki/Non-anthro
if not, i will sum it up. Generally, a furry is any anthropomorphic animal, or human with animal features, and are technically more human than animal. examples are:
Bugs bunny and most looney tunes characters, animaniacs, Ty the Tiger, starfox characters, Hobbs the tiger(is actually a plush: http://en.wikifur.com/wiki/Plush), Agonians (scalies to be accurate) and Kajiits from elder scrolls, many Alice and wonderland characters, The Secret of NIMH, The Flight Of Dragons, The Last Unicorn, Brian Jacques? Redwall, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Albedo, My Little Pony (count as ferals aka non-anthro), Howard the duck, Duck tales, most disney characters, etc...
the lion king is an example of feral furries (quadrupeds, instead of bipeds.) and is included in the fandom.
any animal that talks and is walking like a biped is a furry.
furry can also refer to anyone interested in furries.
Not all furries are interested in furotica, and many don't wear fursuits.
Apparently the people who dislike it don't even know what they're hating. Research people.
