As long as the levels aren't linear, this game can be good. From the videos that I have seen, the levels look linear; BUT, that is typically the case with intro/opener levels. I just hope that that is the exception rather than the rule for the game. As for the concerns about "magic vision" and "mark & execute", watch the videos; the instinct stuff runs out really fast. It won't be the run & gun, deus ex seeing thru walls shit that everyone is yelling about.

Don't get me wrong, If Bateson had rejected the offer to audition then fair game, but he wanted to do it and even when he was told he had to audition for a part he had played for the previous four games which he lent his physical likeness to, he played along with their bullshit and did it then never heard from them again.

Seriously, fuck them, Bateson is too good for them.

I guess all I have to say is that the game looks great (graphically), but I'm getting the same bad feeling that I did when Ubisoft announced the new version of Splinter Cell: Conviction.
Is this true? Cause if it really is then I lost a lot of respect for the guys in management.
Most of that information is sourced from Bateson. IO has been pretty tightlipped about the ordeal, only confirming that Bateson is not working on any current projects with them.

If you Googled it you could probably find forum threads with excerpts from an email that Bateson sent in reply to questions from a fan.

Well i wouldn't go THAT far... 47's voice is cool but no where near as iconic as those you mentioned.

Plus 47 barely speaks anyway, so i dont see a problem. Was a bit dickish to not call the dude to tell him whats going on though.
I thought the fact that 47 didn't speak much added to the moments when he did speak, a sort of "less is more" thing. You knew that when he was saying something that it was important, compared to other characters who might say lots of things but none of it actually matters.

That probably doesn't make sense, but that's how I feel.

As a friend of mine would say, welcome to modern gaming, where we rape franchises like there's no tomorrow. I really fear for the Thief game that will come out.

Cover, cinematic, less freedom, unrealistic superabilities...

I wasn't enthusiastic about this before. Now I'm not even contemplating on getting it.
