Why was this thread [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.206968-Poll-Is-there-someone-you-would-kill?page=2#7012535] locked? I can't find any terms that it broke. It was also fairly popular, and generated some interesting discussion.
I know what you mean, but it wasn't inciting murder. It gave a purely hypothetical scenario, that was pretty revealing. I've trawled the rules, but can't find anything it violates...FreelanceButler said:There's probably something in the rules that it broke. Can't be bothered to find it myself, mind you.
In all fairness, it does seem a little... I can't think of the right word. I'll go with "demented" for now.
But this way he has an endless source of threads to create, when this thread gets locked he can create a new thread questioning the locking and so on and so forth until the end of time.PandyBear said:You probably might want to PM a Mod, rather then create a whole new thread that will inevitably get locked
How do I contact a mod?Blackadder51 said:Because discussing murder isn't cool?
Also you should ask a mod instead of creating a thread.
Edit: Also after reading some of the comments, some of those people are fucked up and the thread was locked to stop discussion of that.
lol. I would have, as well. The subject matter was not horrific. It was entirely hypothetical, and unlikely to ever happen. Unlike the real world, of course; where millions are murdered every year. Murdered by people who are allowed to kill freely, without any repercussions other than the psychological ones. And plenty of them find others to bare the psychological burden.LordCuthberton said:Yes.molesgallus said:Why was this thread [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.206968-Poll-Is-there-someone-you-would-kill?page=2#7012535] locked? It was one of the worst threads I have seen on this site. Ever.
Not only was the subject matter horrific, people were being bullied for having virtues and morals.
So yes, it was locked because it was a crap thread.
It couldn't be seen as inciting people to kill. The situation was hypothetical, I wasn't actually offering amnesty...generic gamer said:Well because it was a grotesque subject mainly. The forums are full enough of people spouting their extra-strength bullshit on who they'd kill encouraging it. Plus half the answers were just moronic. Frankly this website seems to serve as a means of self deception for quite a few people, I've said it before and I'll say it again but if you put most people on here in a room with a rapist and put a pistol in their hands they'd break down in tears rather than do it.molesgallus said:Why was this thread [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.206968-Poll-Is-there-someone-you-would-kill?page=2#7012535] locked? So, self deception, a disgusting subject (killing Michael Bay because you don't like is style of direction? O RLY?) and the fact that it could be seen as inciting people to kill...good lock in my opinion.
Until someone reports him for his never ending list of threads and gets him suspended/bannedBobic said:But this way he has an endless source of threads to create, when this thread gets locked he can create a new thread questioning the locking and so on and so forth until the end of time.PandyBear said:You probably might want to PM a Mod, rather then create a whole new thread that will inevitably get locked
Of course. I wish I could be as humble as your self, but sadly, I can't.LordCuthberton said:You Sir, are arrogant to the grave.molesgallus said:The subject matter was not horrific. The thread was insightful, and generated interesting discussion. No one, as far as I could see was being bullied for having what you consider to be 'virtues and morals'.
What overwhelming majority; what are you actually basing that statement on?The overwhelming majority of people agree, the topic of the thread is morally wrong and generally horrific to even contemplate.
I think Pimppeter2 has answered that.molesgallus said:How do I contact a mod?Blackadder51 said:Because discussing murder isn't cool?

Surely talking to people who are supposedly 'fucked up' is a much better idea than refusing to let them speak about there problems?
And for talking about there problems, its not really accepting on a gaming site for some reason that what therapists are for.The Guidelines said:Mod sass: Don't do it.
