because the wii-waggling without any force feedback would be a gimmick that just wouldn't work in games that are above casual. Like Yahtzee mentioned, something like sword play that requires finesse is beyond the wii's capabilities and like in wii resort, you just end up waving the thing around like it's on fire.

and besides, it's also terrible when used as a standard controller

Because the only people I ever see buying Wii's are parents with small children (age 4 to 9), or old people.

Why is this in off-topic and not gaming discussion?
Because it does not directly pertain to gaming directly. I'm talking about gaming economics, not necessarily gaming itself.

They're kinda scared of it I guess. Everyone gave it the image of being a child's toy, and they never quite shook it off. Did you see how parents were crying that the Wii wasn't a "family console" anymore when Madworld came out? Exactly.

(Also, ditto the top two guys. You don't help the opponent)
you think Sony cares?
Why are you quoting me with this? Of course they don't care. That's why I said "you don't help the opponent."
actually you are wrong, Sony has 1-2 games on the 360
Name them please? I haven't heard.

I'm amazed that this thread degraded into bashing the Wii. Not all of the games suck. I'd make a list, but I doubt anyone would care other than the people who actually know what I'm talking about...

Because the only 1st party developer on the Wii is Nintendo? All the others are 3rd party developers.
<a href=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nintendo_developers#Current_first-party>not exactly.
Yes, exactly, Nintendo is the only 1st party developer for Wii. You may notice that those 1st party developers listed there are subsidiaries of Nintendo. They are Nintendo.

Becuase you touch yourself at night...

But seriously, nobody but our grand parents like the Wii, it lacks the violence that most of us crave...

Let me rephrase it slightly. Most of the big game titles i see nowadays are on both the PS3 or 360 and sometimes PC. I rarely if ever see any big, defining titles on the Wii other than Nintendo Property. If Nintendo is so rich, why can't they buy large game devolpers or just at least enlist their aid? I mean they can get Activision to help them on Guitar Hero but not on something big like MW2?

because the wii doesnt have the capability to make, or play GOOD games!
No more heroes, SSBB, zelda, mario, all games i like on the wii.

Your opinion is that they suck, don't state it like a fact.

There's a difference between a children's toy and a toy for adults. And I don't mean "adult toys".

Really, though, like has been said, Wii is geared towards the casual, novelty crowd, not people who take their gaming as a more "serious" hobby. Sure, there's the odd Mario game if you're into that sort of stuff but it's not a gamer's platform. It's a platform for the casual gamer, and the novelty, trend obsessed crowd. Which is why the Wii has sold so well.

I give you one example why the Wii does need more devs.

Because the Wii is flooded with shovelware, and most of the better games don't sell especially well unless they're made by Nintendo. No point in making a game that's going to lose you money.

my point was that the compaines veiw it as something for the "wittle kiddies", not everyone, which is BS up the ass.

I guess i wasn't the most clear, once again, all game consoles are toys, like baseballs and bats, or basketballs, those are toys, yet adults treat them as something to be obsessed over by adults, like march madness or the world series. And Just because it is a toy doesn't make it bad, and even though all consoles are toys, it doesn't mean that a toy is just for kids. If there are any kiddie games on a game console, (which a ps3 and xbox have) than it cannot be described as a toy for adults, because the word toy is still there.

Finally, if you think that the adults are what we should focus on in the video game market, than the industry will not last, get over the fact that you enjoy toys at your age, I did, i am so much happier for it.
