This. Also, if he meant that, its because a) the Wii has a higher percentage of 'casual' gamers who aren't interested in the same things as XBox, PS3, and PC gamers typically are (so the potential customers on a Wii for multiplatform games is lower than it would seem), and b) the Wii has a low amount of CPU power and memory, and a very different control interface, making it more work to port too, if not outright impossible in some cases.Lukeje said:Because the only 1st party developer on the Wii is Nintendo? wasn't too clear for me, you think that what i sid is BS or you agree with me?robert632 said:TailsRodrigez said:all consoles are toys, and if you try to deny that you're a moron.robert632 said:most companies veiw it as a childrens toy, not a gaming console.
my point was that the compaines veiw it as something for the "wittle kiddies", not everyone, which is BS up the ass.
oh no, i agree with you, all consoles are toys, just the wii is being viewed as a toy for the little ones, unlike the other consoles.TailsRodrigez said:wasn't too clear for me, you think that what i sid is BS or you agree with me?robert632 said:TailsRodrigez said:all consoles are toys, and if you try to deny that you're a moron.robert632 said:most companies veiw it as a childrens toy, not a gaming console.

Ah, look again! MW2: Reflex is coming soon. Sans downgrades to graphics and multiplayer, it will play the same but with motion controls.mrhappyface said:Let me rephrase it slightly. Most of the big game titles i see nowadays are on both the PS3 or 360 and sometimes PC. I rarely if ever see any big, defining titles on the Wii other than Nintendo Property. If Nintendo is so rich, why can't they buy large game devolpers or just at least enlist their aid? I mean they can get Activision to help them on Guitar Hero but not on something big like MW2?
I understand what first-party means, thank you. you may notice that Nintendo need only own 51% of a developer for it to be considered "first-party". And even if they are wholly owned by Nintendo, a subsidiary is still a separate legal entity.Sad Robot said:Yes, exactly, Nintendo is the only 1st party developer for Wii. You may notice that those 1st party developers listed there are subsidiaries of Nintendo. They are Nintendo.cobra_ky said:<a href=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nintendo_developers#Current_first-party>not exactly.Lukeje said:Because the only 1st party developer on the Wii is Nintendo? Nintendo are by no means restrictive regarding third-party software on the Wii. That's why the Wii has such a reputation for shovelware in the first place.Doug said:Basically, not enough money for the work needed to port to the Wii. As for Wii only games, I'm not 100% sure. I imagine Nintendo are quite restrictive about what developers they let code for the Wii, but thats just a guess.
I'm sorry . . . was that tarantula spitting WEBS?!?! Last I checked, no tarantula was equipped to do ANYTHING with webs!steakheart said:I give you one example why the Wii does need more devs.
Behold. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stnkHFmRO5U] The wonder that is Deadly Creatures.
I bought the Wii to play games on...I wouldn't buy a 360 or a PS3 without first looking into a new PC, but the Wii is unique: It has games (Good games) out that aren't on the PC...yet...So no, "people" do not buy the Wii as a novelty item. They buy the Wii to play games on, otherwise they wouldn't buy it. People aren't quite so nostalgic as to purchase something with no value of any kind, contrary to what the PS3 people would've had you believe when it first came out.grimsprice said:any given game that is made for multiple consoles sells better on the 360 and ps3. Why? Because people buy the wii as a novelty item. An expensive novelty item. People buy a 360 and ps3 for the games. Big difference.
I like the Wii. And it has violent games.Smagmuck08 said:Becuase you touch yourself at night...
But seriously, nobody but our grand parents like the Wii, it lacks the violence that most of us crave...
