As much as I like Daystar, I'm anticipating the return of Zeel more.

Forget the second coming of Jesus, that is something to look forward to.
For all of six minutes before the mods get clued in to one of his reported posts. Realistically, he isn't going to be able to make any identifiable return without getting whacked down for ban-jumping.

Now, in a thread about why people love the Escapist so much, I don't get why I chose that as my opening. But that's just another charm this place has: you never know what you'll end up talking about.

The community is nice and varied; you've got the well-known users, the not-so-well known users, the mods, the infamous ones (for better or for worse), the awesome ones, and the oddball ones. The discussions tend towards being civil, lighthearted, and insightful. The flames are much more manageable and can be controlled and/or sidestepped with ease compared to other portions of the internet, and it's one of my favorite (and certainly one of the most memorable) internet communities I've been a part of.

Come for the Yahtzee, stay for the forums.

And the CAPTCHA here is quite intelligent and satirical whenever it's not asking me to identify "which one is food?" (darkness, krazjumt, air conditioning, pasta salad, socks, tall building)

The day that happens, will be a very funny day indeed.

For the people who know what's happening, anyway :D

Cool content (surely there's a better adjective beginning with C?), great groups and fun (for the most part) forums. Oh, and magnificent moderation of course. =P

Love... well, let's say I love it... great content, the discussions are mostly civil and interesting (though I can hardly say I make many interesting contributions myself), there's something for everyone in the usergroups.

Apart from the gaming forum's tendency to become a bit of a clusterf**k at certain times (for example the Mass Effect 3 controversy and Skyrim), this is one of the better gaming sites I've been on.

Because almost everything here is absolutely awesome.
Yeah, the videos, the community, everything.
Go ahead and pat yourself on the back, especially if you're a contributor and you happen to be reading this.

There are no people who immediately call out "YOUR MOM!" when their argument is questioned. Well, there was that one time where some guy responded with "well, we call people where you're from retards anyway" to a perfectly reasonable question.

To the rest of the forum's credit every single other person on the thread ripped the absolute piss out of him in a calm, non-sweary manner. Think he then went crying over to the other side of The Internet after that.

The mods are pretty cool, the shows are... Decent but I never bother to watch anything but ZP anymore for some bizzare non-specific reason. Except the Jim Is An Asshole Show. That I have a reason for XD

But let's all be honest here, the underlying reason why we are all still here is to try and witness the next awesome thread derail by Daystar.

Plus I can rant about whatever my flavour of the month is without anyone telling me to shut the fuck up. Hell they even encourage me on occasion!
Hey! Hey, you! Yeah, you there! YOUR MOM!

Yeah, I bet that burns, doesn't it?

:D

OT: Chatting in the Brovengers has done wonders for getting me to actually communicate with other people around here. Also, as of a few days ago, a fellow member even managed to get me into LoL, which is a game that I doubt I would ever play alone.
[sub]Obviously I'm absolutely terrible at the game, but it's a learning experience.[/sub]
I've seen a lot of LoL threads pop up recently, it's nice to see that forum pick it up a bit. By the way if you're on EU West my name is the same as the one on this site so invite/friend me if you want.

Speaking of Gavin posting on these forums, have you seen his extremely short-lived Dark Souls LP on Youtube?

The Brovengers. Being one of the admins there has been really fun. I've made a lot of friends there, and it's probably the best thing that happened since I joined this site.
Pffft. Gaaayyyyyy. :p
Sweet new avatar btw.

OT - Just the community in general really. And the Brovengers.

I know it's cheesy, but I love the people. Yea, sometimes threads can spiral into flame-wars or some people sign up to see how much shit they can get away with until they get kicked out, but in general, you guys are awesome.

(It also helps that I haven't gotten in a massive argument with anyone, or yet.)

I've made a few good friends and even had the great pleasure of having live video chat sessions with them.

Because of the webcomic(s), the reviews and the stuff I learn from The Big Picture. And the forum community.

The people, the content, the feeling I get while browsing it.

Those three. That's as condensed as I get.

There are interesting and fun threads and I like that the rules made here are reinforce. You said something bad, you will get a warning for it unlike some places rude/ jerk/ douche people run free and the mods don't give a danm.

Unfortunately I'm just a silly American.

And I hadn't seen any of that, but it was certainly amusing. When he read the "Try jumping" message I was just thinking "Don't do it, don't do it... awww."

The community, the consistently good content, the gaming headlines on a daily basis.
Pretty much everything, really.
But most of all, this guy [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view].
Seriously, you're [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view] awesome.

I appreciate that the site can use text when it's called for; that it doesn't feel a need to make every article a spangly video with cable television graphics and sound effects to hold the attention of an audience presumed to have a goldfish-like attention span. (Don't get me wrong, a lot of the video content is terrific; I doubt I'm the first person lured here by Zero Punctuation.)

I generally like the forums, and particularly appreciate that there are a lot of forum participants from outside of the United States. There's the occasional slog where one topic gets all the attention for a couple of weeks, but by and large, we get over it. And I appreciate the forum moderators more and more with each passing day. (Thanks, guys/gals!)

I like that the site appreciates and attracts a disparate selection of materials and viewpoints- MovieBob, ZP, LRR, Miracle of Sound, No Right Answer, Critical Miss, and so on. I don't always agree with what they might have to say, and that's good, too.

Yup, gotta go with the community. The nice clear layout (including lack of signatures and over-sized avatars) and strict moderation certainly help too but really it's the people who make this place. I don't even play video games that much any more, can't remember the last time I went into Gaming discussion on this site but I still hang around here for Off-topic, Role-playing and the user groups. Special mention goes to the Injustice League, cos they're awesome.

What's not to love? I love the thoughtful, nice and funny users as well as the crazy trolls that make every flame war that much more chaotic.

I enjoy the content of this site as well as the community. So far as I've seen, the moderation is fair and I love the fact that both moderators, contributors and staff for the most part are open to having an open conversation in the forums.

Naturally, there have been some rough spots, but over all, I love it here.

While I like the new avatar, it now feels wrong to refer to you as the Fappy-cat....
