Wii-U limited to just ONE tablet, does that affect your buying decision?

So for me, I was really curious and skeptical over the fact that the console may be limited to just one of those console tablets per system. And that for sure affects my buying decision based on a few key reasons, with a few side ones.

I am hoping they can overcome the technical issues, because one per console won't make this the game changer they think and goes further to explain, to me, why their stocks fell. Supplementing with Wii-motes doesn't excite me at all. Nor does a $250 3DS.

Thoughts?

Yeah it does its like playing with a turbo controller while your friends use regular 1's. And you can only ever own 1 turbo controller, and you can only use one on a console.

@Soxafloppin

Yeah, sorry until they come with a name, I am just calling it the tablet.

Well, yeah. I do hope they manage to get more working one, they could lower the graphics on each one or something to pull it off... But we'll see. Sounds like they're still working out themselves.

But at the end of the day, I'm getting this for HD Nintendo games, everything else is icing on the cake.

Just... the idea of an HD Zelda alone... :D Plus finally getting a Pikmin...

The more important things for me now are the price and the games. It's early times still so I'll wait patiently for that info first.

I haven't played multiplayer for months, and it was all TF2 then. I haven't played split screen multiplayer since...I don't know. Goldeneye on a friend's N64 ten years ago probably.

Nah, this won't be a factor when I'm deciding if I want to buy Cafe or not.

Wait, what? I thought the whole point was to control the games with this and have the tablet display things that were unique to that player, so that one player could have information that the other didn't? Basically, to make games like they were on the GameCube when you used a GBA as a controller, like Zelda Four Swords or Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles.

So if you can only have one - what's the point? The only feature that leaves is that you can switch from playing a game on your TV to the tablet, in which case why didn't you just buy a handheld console in the first place?

Sorry Nintendo, I'm out unless you can fix this. And there's no reason why you can't.

that...is hilarious. talk about trading substance for flash; this unwieldy block of a controller wont even be able to play multiplayer games. did he say we would use a 3DS as a controller?! my only response can be this:

I dunno ... maybe the person with the tablet can be the referee in a blood bowl match or something.

I can imagine they will lift the one controller thing once the console's demand goes down a bit. Limiting the amount of controllers helps since they wouldn't need to produce more in a rush.

No. I don't even know what kind of games will be on it yet, I can't complain that I only have one and can't buy more.

The only issue I have is with repair, posting it off seems long.

"but says final decision not yet made."

Oh.

No it doesn't affect my buying decision. I wasn't going to buy one before I learned this, and I'm still not buying one now I know.

It kinda does affect my buying decision since I live in a house with 4 other siblings who all use the game consols.

Not having multiplayer is like WWIII around here.

I can understand packing one controller in with the console, but only allowing one to be used with the console at any given time? What is Nintendo thinking with this? That's killing the whole vision that Nintendo had for gaming since the Wii came out. Nintendo's long been the console to turn to for inviting your buddies over to goof around gaming with. That's been their selling point, aside from the first-party titles. It's a key part of their gold mine. This announcement makes me nervous that Nintendo may be turning too far in the other way to try to get the "core" gaming community back in their good graces.

I can live without multiplayer, just means less douchebags cluttering the forums.

Pretty idiotic idea limiting the system like this. Not that I would have bought it anyways but still, it's pretty easy to understand why their stock is dropping after seeing this new system.

No, not quite, even though it seems a bit strange. Maybe they want to enforce oh so much 'fun' with three people having normal Wii controllers and one person having the tablet? Mii chasing and what-not.

Might be a policy they change as time goes by. We shall see.
