If it is true then officialy Nintendo is overpowered.

I like Nintendo and it is doing well. TOO well. I dont want that. There should be some kind of balance, I hope Sony (Althougt I dont like the games they have, I liked the company in the past. In fact I grew up with the PS1, so yeah)( and Microsoft (I hate it but still...) do something with this and put up a good fight.

They can only do that if they actually make their own games.
Sony can't anymore financial binds and all.

What do Apple products, Nintendo products and cocaine have in common?

If I was Nintendo or Apple, why even bother. You can sell used coyote skins and it would sell just as well.

Meh Software sales are the real units to measure for any game maker that is not Nintendo. That Nintendo prints money with this thing does not necessarily imply success for outside developers on the system.

Good on them I guess. I really felt left out in the cold with the Wii. My first one broke within warranty, so I got it replaced. That one later got stolen, but not any of the games I had. It took me 2 years to give enough of a damn to buy one again. I didn't find solace in other consoles either. My 360 didn't get stolen, but I didn't start playing it to fill the console void. Once I replaced the Wii, I didn't even start playing catchup on whatever was released in the last 2 years. I got Zelda:SS, and hated it. The console doesn't suck, but I have more fun with my old games on it.

Whoa. That went way off topic there. Basically, I'm trying to say that I hope the Wii U fares better. Hearing things like Bayonetta 2 being sent to it gives me hope that it will at least compete against MS and Sony. There's going to need to be some better games released on it that I must have if they want my sale, but it's nice seeing them going where I want them.

Wonder how long until someone edits this gif:

with the Wii U gamepad.

OT: Well, I wonder how many lambs I'll have to sacrifice to get one by Christmas. Also, has anyone started selling ones for WAY above their RRP yet? That happened with the Wii quite a lot, wonder if it's started already for the Wii U.
Some guy on eBay is trying to sell on for $900, obviously banking on supply constraints. Glad I reserved my at Best Buy.

Asbestos could outsell the Vita, honestly.

Not surprised at this. I knew it was going to be massively popular. Them's the breaks.
Asbestos is outselling the Vita ATM just to let you know.

they have to, it is the only system on the planet that caters to 12 year olds that pretend to beat up bullies with a remote. Look at the videos, someone is always breaking a TV with a wii remote. pretending. Sorry I tried to stay on topic as hard as I can. =(

Deluxe Editions always sell out for popular products. Doesn't really mean anything. I'll take notice if it begins selling out of ALL units, like the original Wii.

I'm also not surprised that it's already outsold the Vita. The Vita was a massive failure.

Meh, consoles always sell out initially (hell I'd buy one just to flip it for 2-3x), the big question hanging over the WiiU is whether or not grandma and grandpa are going to shell out for it like they did with the Wii. Let's be realistic here, a good chunk of the Wii's userbase are people who bought the thing for Wii Sports, not for Mario, Link, Samus, and the crew. The question is whether or not they have the incentive to shell out ~$300 for WiiU Sports.

You would think people would have learned by now from the Nintendo Wii...guess not. -_-
Success of the Wii doesn't necessarily mean success of everything Nintendo does. The WiiU is a very different console than the Wii and the console market is a very different place from when it launched. It is more likely than not that things would be different. They still could be; this is still only a rumour and it's still early days too.

Well I know a huge number of people who enjoyed the Wii. Since when was the consensus that the Wii was a bad console?
I agree, I loved my Wii. I didn't think it was a bad console at all.

Back on topic though. I guess I'll have to wait awhile before I can get it because I was too slow to preorder it. Oh well, waiting won't be too bad, I didn't really need it at launch anyway.

I'd take the Wii over the other two consoles anytime.
I think they were referring to the fact that the Wii sold out like it was the second coming of Christ and was impossible to find anywhere for a long time after launch, not saying that the Wii was bad. I recall how my mom was miraculously able to get us a Wii for Christmas because someone at the store happened to be returning one at the same time she was shopping there. Point is, we should have foreseen the WiiU selling out super fast.

Well, I certainly didn't see that coming, but I'm waiting to see how the games pan out before I call it a success.

For the record, every one I know with a Wii got bored of it after two months and packed it away, including myself.

Huh, and there was I being one of the people that though it would flop.

Colour me impressed. :3

Overall I think this is a fantastic thing, as some people have said the current generation of consoles is getting to almost 8 years now.

Maybe the Wii U selling like hot cakes will inspire Sony and Microsoft to kick their next Gen consoles out onto the market sooner rather than later.

Although if I was them I'd wait, cause people have spent all their money the WiiU by the looks of it. XD

This is interesting.
Didn't think this would happen.
I wasn't going to get one at launch day anyhow but I'll defineatly get it someday. I enjoyed my Wii and still have loads of game on that console I'd like to play.

Actually asbestos was a decent product allowing for great insulation and flame resistance, it was also very cheap. (I'm not trying to make a serious dicussion here, just making a counter joke)

OT: Again I am surprised by people buying Nintendo products, don't get me wrong, I have a soft spot for Nintendo products myself, but I thought the GameCube was an awesome console and it suffered from poor sales, the Wii and the Wii U seemed like products that would cause some doubts, but seems like my expectations were wrong about the Wii and wrong about the Wii U. I also thought that the Wii sold well because it was cheaper than a PS3 and I think it was a bit cheaper than the 360. Now the Wii U launches at a higher price and it still sells. Good to see Nintendo prove those market analysts wrong, but I do wish I could have been able to get my hands on one around Christmas. Guess I will be working on my back log this Christmas and get a Wii U for the summer.

With blackjack, and hookers.
