No, it'll be more like MW2. Have you seen any trailers for the game? It looks exactly like MW2.
Survival Mode wasn't in MW2.
Have you read fourzerotwo's twitter at all?
It sounds not exactly like MW2.
Adding a new game mode doesn't make them any less similar. Survival Mode is basically Nazi Zombies with soldiers instead of zombies.

And no, I don't read fourzerotwo's twitter, I barely follow COD at all.
If you're not interested then why did you start reading the post to begin with?
It's called "browsing."
Do you typically browse things that are clearly labelled as something you're not interested in? Why not just navigate to the QVC website and look at ice cream makers?

Sorry, I didn't know this thread was reserved only for people who are going to buy the game. How dare I share my opinion.

No. And I'm going with the Michael Jordan argument here, there will not be another CoD 4, only an MW3. If it is a good game, it will have its own merits.
The only way it could be the "next CoD 4" is if its a full copy/paste of that game. No more, no less.

Well there are no dedicated servers. So I am out still. Waste of time without them for the PC. I might pick it up for the console though.

Given the amoutn of hacked lobbies and glitchers on Call of Duty 4 now, it's not going to be hard to be better than CoD 4.

Being better than CoD 4 WAS will be difficult, and I'm not sure the new one will manage it, still I'll be getting it on release because all my friends will be playing it.

I don't think it will be the next CoD4; there is now far too much emphasis on killstreaks and teamwork seems pretty dead; I remember the days on CoD4 when you could have a whole team using their mics in headquarters or search and destroy.
There haven't been any major changes since CoD4 which have in any way improved the series for me (on the contrary a few have made it worse). That and I've really hated the story modes for the last two games; MW3 doesn't show any sign of changing the formula in any way I think better of it; I might try the survival mode at a friend's but I'm not forking out £40-£45 for just that and I may not even like it.
Aye, these are my fondest memories of CoD4: getting together with my clan, all of us with our microphones, and having a good game of teamwork.
Great.... now I miss my clan.

It's not, but you're being arrogant if you think anyone takes your opinion seriously when you say things like this:

Opinions generally become invalid when you have no idea what you're talking about and you sling around random insults like FOX news does. I guess we all know where you've obtained your argumentative skills from.

For as long as it has quickscoping or noobtubing, i will never play it. So no, it won't be the next COD4. It'll be the next MW2.
Really? That really annoys you enough to ditch a game?

I never really felt the issues with either.

Buuuuuuuut that probably because I played it on PC, on hardcore... Mostly camping along with most of my team.

Why do I have to have to be interested in it to form a serious opinion? You know WHY I'm not interested in it? Because I've learned enough about it to conclude that it isn't worth my money. I watched the Survival Mode trailer and the only reason it is in the game is to please the Nazi Zombie fans.

MW3 is gonna be exactly like MW2 and here's why:

THEY'RE RUSING THE GAME!

The community sucks

The game is gonna be unbalanced

It dosn't matter if you need 13 kills or 9 kills for a chopper it's only for you

It dosn't require any skill.

The map are tiny.

Wanna know how i know all of this?cause im a motherfucking ghost. boo.

Adding a (kind of) new game mode doesn't make them any less similar gameplay-wise.

And no, I don't follow fourzerotwo's twitter, because I'm not really interested in the game.
Survival Mode =/= Nazi Zombies.
On 402's twitter, he talks about how things have been removed, tubes have been balanced, they are changing the melee system, they are changing the killstreak system, etc.
Things were things changed and added and removed with Black Ops but the gameplay was still exactly the same. The only difference was the weapons and a darker art direction.
Meh, Black Ops was cool, but I got bored of it.
It seems that the IW games are the only ones that actually change things up.

So your point is that it's a ?65($90) balance patch?
What the hell? 90 dollars?
I guess, balancing, new maps, a new game mode, new campaign, updated engine, dedicated servers for PC, etc.
I mainly get the new CoDs because it's what my friends play, I like it, and I like keeping up with the plot/community.

So, I know, people said this about MW2 and Black Ops, but when those were coming out, I admit, I thought MW2 would be like Jesus' second coming, and I was kinda burnt out on CoD when Black Cops came out. World at War WAS the next CoD4, because it was basically a mod of CoD4 with WW2 weapons.
But, MW3 will put the focus back on gunplay, it will remove most of the BS from MW2, and other things.
So what are your opinions on the statement in the OP?
Sure, it'll be like COD4... and if by COD4 you mean "Still vastly inferior to a certain other FPS made by a certain other company." Yes, I agree, it'll be a clone of COD4.

Lol... seriously though, fanboyism aside, I appreciate the changes they're trying to make to the game so a lot of the horse shit that made me NEVER want to TOUCH a COD game again is taken out. What I still see them severely lacking is a focus on team-play. I'm not saying it's not there, and I'm not talking about the other cooperative game modes... but in their multiplayer game modes such as domination and that one with the bomb, I never felt like anyone else cared except for their own points. I would be very, VERY disappointed if I were to hop into a match and be on a team full of those brats who say, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING, WHY WOULD YOU PLANT THE BOMB!?" "... ummm, cause that's how you win?" "NO YOU NOOB, WE DON'T WANT TO WIN, WE JUST WANT TO INCREASE OUR KDR!" -.- That shit don't happen in Battlefield. You play as a team, and you play to win - otherwise your ass is conveniently gift wrapped for you in the form of a 105 mm howitzer cannon blast from an m1a2 abrams.

Seeing as how I only ever bought the other two modern warfares because I needed something new to hold me off till the next Battlefield - and since the next battlefield is coming out before MW3 - I don't think I'll ever touch this COD... cept maybe to rent it for it's single player cause I always liked their single player.
To each his own, I guess, I'm apparently an ignorant fanboy according to these forums because I enjoy CoD, I might pick up BF3 though.

Nope, next question. But seriously it won't, Cod4 was such a game changer and I just don't think MW3 has what it takes to do that again.

Why are people complaining that it looks and plays the same? It's an FPS for damn sake! There's not really much you can drastically change about it.

I swear, the steaming hate of CoD on this site really is irritating. It's like if anyone here even likes CoD, they get blasted out.

I actually like the MW series, as opposed to the games Treyarch make. Although I liked MW2, it was broken as hell in alot of aspects. I think this one will be good, as the team is putting some different focus and changes in the game, but I haven't seen any gameplay footage, so I'm still a little skeptical.

But I personally think no, it won't be the next CoD4. CoD4 is CoD4. I believe, however, that 3 will be a good game. I respect anyone's personal opinion about the game, but don't be a troll!

LOOKS! It's the same weapons, same enemies, same engine without any apparent modification.

Even the "explosive dogs" are the same except they have C4 packs glued to their side but it functions just like martyrdom.

Things like survival mode would be simple for an amateur coder to mod in, if only they had mod tools. It is almost all the exact same assets remixed together, this is the kind of thing you'd expect in DLC expansion pack for MW2, not as the sequel! Hell just given the chance we would have made this for ourselves!

Yes, there are a few new weapons, but look at Team Fortress 2 all the new weapons given for free over a similar time period!

OT: I will get MW3 but I'm not going to rush out to get it, not till at a VERY reasonable price.

I hold it in about the same regard as FEAR 3 or Red Faction Armageddon.

If they are revamping some mechanics couldn't they have just patched the game?I mean BF3 puts a lot of new stuff on the table while keeping or improving it's core mechanics. That's how you make a sequel and not just rehash your old game for more profits. To me apart from the zombie mode which is a dlc they've changed almost nothing in the core gameplay for 3 titles.3 freaking titles.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the whole price thing.
(I usually get them for about 30 bucks, a few days early.)
And I think there was mod tools for Black Ops.
