I have absolutely no clue what the OP is talking about. The Wii's launch linup was SHIT. But then Nintendo actually supported it extremely well for most of it's life afterwards. In fact the Wii is easily the most well supported console Nintendo has ever had. Third parties completely ignored it so if it hadn't had extremely good first party support the Wii wouldn't have had any decent games.

After roughly 30 seconds of research I have found [a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_products_published_by_Nintendo#Wii"]a list[/a] of 93 Wii games (not counting Wiiware) Nintendo has found the time to create and publish for it's console. Keep in mind Nintedo was also creating games for the [a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_products_published_by_Nintendo#Nintendo_DS"]DS[/a]/[a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_products_published_by_Nintendo#Nintendo_3DS"]3DS[/a] during this time.

Wii Sports
Excite Truck
Twilight Princess Wii + Link's Crossbow Training.
Warioware Smooth Moves
Super Paper Mario
Mario Party 8
Pokemon Battle Revolution
Mario Strikers Charged
Metroid Prime 3 Corruption
Donkey Kong Barrel Blast
Battalion Wars 2
Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn
Super Mario Galaxy
Endless Ocean
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
MarioKart Wii
Wii Fit
WarioLand Shake It!
Wii Music
Animal Crossing: City Folk
Punchout!
Wii Sports Resort
Wii Fit plus
New Super Mario Bros
Endless Ocean 2: Adventures of the Deep
Sin and Punishment: Star Successor
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Pokepark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure
Metroid: Other M
Wii Party
Kirbies Epic Yarn
Flingsmash
Dinkey Kong Country Returns
Mario Sports Mix
Wii Play Motion
Kirbies Return to Dreamland
Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Rythym Heaven Fever
Pokepark 2: Wonders Beyond
Mario Party 9
Xenoblade chornicles
Last Story

I hope and pray that Nintendo treats the WiiU as well as it treated the Wii.

They haven't confirmed Metroid yet, but they more than likely have one in the works. Let's hope that it's Retro Studios making it instead of Team Ninja, I don't think anyone wants another Other M. Metroid in HD will be awesome, won't it?

I will concede the best games weren't marketed well and that falls on Nintendo but the Wii has a great catalog for any REAL gamer.
Um no a lot of these were not good games or were good games but not one the Wii. They were so different from the main games they couldn't even be considered a port and were the same game in name only.

Your whole cunning plan to just list a ton of bad and mediocre games with one or 2 actual good games thrown in isn't going to work buddy try again.

'another bait and switch'.

So like...have we all played a recent nintendo game? Or tried any of these supposedly awful 3rd party games? What was this great betrayal I missed while I was running out of time and money to afford all these amazing wii exclusives? I have 20 games for the thing and I missed out on 15 others.

I feel like there was some kind of great myth started by IGN and Gametrailers that pretended that little white box didn't exist. Did I miss something?

Third party titles is what we measure console sucess by, not sales of games/consoles/revenue created.

After listening to the Wii Us launch line up I'm actually sort of impressed, well not as disappointed, but if we all recall the Wiis launch line up was just as impressive if not more so, and after that all we got was a Mario or Zelda game every other year. Their support of the Wii was almost nonexistent and 3rd party support descended into a bad joke.

So do you think Nintendo will do another bait and switch, once they get the console in our homes they'll just lay back and do %&*# all again?
To hell with the Wii, after the terrible 3ds launch lineup following what they promised on top of them still not having a proper 3d pokemon I've resolved not to buy a Wii U anywhere near launch time unless they actually follow through and put out the game they promise.

..."another"?

Have we just resorted to finding a reason (more in this case) to hate everything by now? I'd really like to know. I can't think of a single thing in gaming since 2006 that isn't a betrayal to a majority of forum users.

Oh, my bad, you must be one of those "FPS rules!, Call of Duty forever types". If you're so disgruntled, stop playing. Not only are those games good but check the ratings, they stack up. Some were even rated better than their PS360 counterparts. Nice try though. I'm not going to waste my time replying to both of you, so this is for you too Foolproof.

traditionally controlled Zelda game.
Isn't the new controller (pad) sort of like a traditional controller except a screen in the middle for multitasking with inventorys etc? The only motion thing I've seen of so far is to lift it towards the screen when operating a turret in ZombieU so wouldn't this make it sort of classic controller with buttons and joystics/pads except that teh controller will be a bit wider?

Starting lineup for me would be FIFA13, Pikmin3 and ZombieU (don't know too many launchtitles to tell teh truth).
Waiting for Zelda, StarFox, Okami, a new JRPG like a new Tales of Symphonia would be fantastic.
And then I always happen to stumble over something funny every now and then.

After eliminating the bad ports that were done better on other systems, the mediocre games, the outright bad ones, we have the real list of good 3rd party games. I even added one for you.

The original wii's launch was better...!? I know it had Zelda, but that was actually a game cube game, and while it was still awesome, I can't think of anything else that stood out. I bought Red Steel with Zelda, but out of desperation for something to play on my new console. Boy, what a mistake that was!

I think when people talk about 3rd party support, we're generally attacking the lack of marketing that Nintendo does for 3rd party games.

Also it really seems like your reaching a bit hard to prove your point. A good chunk of those games listed are port or just generally not that great(I mean really Red Steel 1 and The Conduit 1 don't help your point at all).

Yes great games came out on the Wii from the third party, but Nintendo's paltry marketing almost made it impossible for any of them to be a great success. Look back at that list and count how many of those games flopped.
