They're currently working with the next Gears of War. Do you think that they will ruin the story, and in that case, how? I think that they, if they are really stupid, will slaughter it, and piss on its remains by revealing that Marcus is:
The son of Myrrah, the Locust Queen (considering she "knew" Adam Fenix, which brings some suspicion)
I really couldn't care less about the story, unless they let the next Carmine be a badass and live to see the credits (fat chance of that though). The only purpose the story had for me was to get me from one setting to another where I could chainsaw more mofos.

Evil plan number one, revealed when Lt Kim is killed by General RAAM was "Hunt them down and kill them one by one". This was an even worse plan considering the war of attrition was clearly a painful one (exterminating an entire race that is as well armed and apparently better trained can be tough). Not to mention, fighting a war of attrition is a silly move altogether as at that point one is no longer fighting a war to attain an end goal other than winning the war. I have to suspect that the reason for the war between locust and humanity hinges on more than "they look different than me", because such a cause doesn't hold up after the body count starts to really rise.
In fact, it is in this very motivation that I find the biggest flaws in most video games. Why exactly did the locust start the war in the first place? If it was a problem of over-crowding in the hollows, the problem has surely been resolved at this point. Or perhaps the humans struck first and that has yet to be revealed.
Truth be told, the war in Gears of War has lasted so long and been so utterly devistating that there is only one logical reason that it is carried out: each side faces annihilation if they surrender. For huamnity it would seem that the war itself is the threat to their extinction, but for the locust, who were all but inassailable for most of the conflict (until GoW 2 it would seem) face extinction because they insist on continuing the conflict. I don't know how they reproduce, but I suspect that, when a single team of cog soldiers can handily butcher dozens of locust in a sitting without much effort that it must be taking a toll on their numbers.
The lambet locust might in fact the the key to the mystery, and it may be that human use of immulsion somehow unleashed that scourge. Still, even in this case, waging total war against an entire species is nothing short of an act of desperation - were this the case I would have to assume diplomatic ovetures had been tried before. Given some of the events in GoW 2, it seems equally likely that the locust may have been the result of some secret program conducted by the COG.
Because of how these stories usually pan out in video games, I'll present a theory: that the Locust were devloped as part of a "super soldier program" at the height of the pendulum wars. After the war ended and the COG formed, there must have been some attempt to exterminate the locust, thus leading to the brutal war between the races and explaing the link between Marcus' father and the Locust queen. Such a plot line would resolve most of the outstanding plot holes regarding the locust, namely:
1) Why did humanity never once notice the locust before the end of the pendulum wars, in spite of the fact that immulsion, commony found in the hollows with the locust, was the cause of the pendulum wars?
2) What connection does Marcus' father have with the Queen?
3) Why in gods name are the locust so willing to fight this war?
4) Why do the locust speak the same language as the COG soldiers (the queen I can understand, but the cannon fodder?)
5) Why do certain scientists and science facilities have an in-depth understanding of much of the locust society, especially when one considers the research dates to before or shortly after the start of the war?
You mean that bomb on the level before the Centaur level? Try 2 minutes. All you need is to know how to aim with a pistol. And yes, I played on Insane.
So was I but it was on co-op too and its really hard to coordinate between to drunk people. I just feel that level was out of place in Gears. I mean I want to be cutting up people not lugging around a box for however long and I still don't even know what it was.
EDIT: Also razor hail is a weak excuse for Kryll.

...Crap, you got me there. I wouldn't know myself, but games are probably funnier when drunk.

They already mauled the story by making a cliffhanger and then refusing to give half the population the rest of it while giving out some lame insults instead.
