For me no, not now any way. I?ve been a Nintendo fan boy for all my life, back to the nes, snes, n64, gc. But, since Nintendo went all casual on us, I picked up a 360, since most of my friends have on. For the same reason in reveres, I am not going to get a ps3, for one game, is not worth the trouble and the price, and for the other exclusives, God of war 3, I did not play the others, and since the backward compatibility is all wacky, who knows if I would be able, so no not for killzone 2

you are looking at £300 in the Uk for PS3 and Killzone 2 I think, or there abouts.

OR £300 could get you 10+ games for your Xbox... Not exactly logical, particularly for a FPS when the Xbox has Gears oF War, Halo and Team Fortress 2.

thats before the suggestion that maybe teh £300 would be better spent getting out of the house onces in a while, or on pizza, beer etc

I'd say Escapist 360 owners won't, but they will be brought to our side by Trico, Heavy Rain and God of War III. The larger, more casually minded ones, I'd say likely.
Don't you have to be pretty damn hardcore to even tell the difference between all these FPSes?

Killzone 1 sucked before so what makes you think we want more?
KZ1 had an average of around 60% while KZ2 is more around 90 so I guess they did improve it.

I don't own a 360, but my reasoning behind a resounding "NO" will still stand. I am NOT going to buy a system for just a few games. Most games I like are cross-platform, and since the 360's exclusive library is better than the PS3's (IMO) I'll eventually be getting a 360, but I will never get a PS3.

I am sad though, KZ2 looks pretty damn good...

No shooter would ever sell me a system on its own, because for my money, shooters are all far too samey.

Contrast with the fact that LBP may have been enough to get me to buy the system, and that's just an updated platformer. Clearly, my logic is flawed.

Personal taste aside, I would put forward that if one game is sufficient to have someone buying a system, they have too much money or a low level of self control. When the stack of exclusives that you, personally, are interested in grows to be about seven to ten high, that's when it's time to consider a purchase.

Sorry but I find something wrong with that statement. When the original Splinter Cell came out it was a hot selling point for the original X-Box and it was classed as a shooter/stealth game.

This aside I have to say I am a huge fan of the Killzone series but I don't think it'll become a system seller or cause people to cross over. I'm not saying it's not a great game I just think it falls slightly below the bar of a system seller.

With the amount of games being released in this quarter it's hard to distinguish just one because all of them are good just not exceptionally great. I bought a playstation 2 because I had a playstation 1 because I didn't like the N64 games. I purchased a 360 because of the amount of games that I liked coming out for it, not for just one game.

I then sold the 360 for the PS3 when I found out that all the games minus Halo 3 were coming out on other platforms. ((Also so I could then play all my PS1 and PS2 games again.)) Anyway what I'm trying to explain from that lengthy example is that people will mostly likely look at the amount of games out, see what ones appeal to them and then buy the system although if a game is exceptionally well done it can usually count as the deciding factor for many people.

No game justifies buying a console just for it in my opinion...
I totally agree.

Not to mention the fact that Killzone 2 doesn't really interest me at all.

I don't get the big deal about Kill Zone 2, it looks like generic FPS to me, I can get those for the Xbox as well. Kingdom Hearts 3 could get me thinking though.

I think, perhaps, you meant to quote someone else.

Maybe someone who said something that was in some way related to your point.

I'm a 360 owner and once upon a time i chose to buy a Wii instead of a PS3 because at the time the Wii was kicking the crap out of the other two and i wanted to play SSBB and Mario Kart Wii and all that other nonsense that got old a lot faster then i thought it would. Sitting here now i kind of wish i had bought a PS3 instead, the PS3 has a tough start but i think that it is coming along and might have a more productive year then the wii, who seems to be lagging behind as far as new and intersting games coming out. So to answer your question no im not going to get a PS3 now because i dont have the money, money which i pissed away on my wii

I'm thinking about it honestly. Plus I have yet to play through MGS4 (or 1 or 3) so I think that's enough reason to get one as any.

Anyone who spends £300 or so just to play Killzone (or any other game for that matter) needs their head examined.

Killzone 2 just looks a like another crappy FPS for the ps3 they should have learnt by now that the 360 just does shooters better.
Not this again...look, for all the arguments of lack of innovation, it still remains the most highly polished and best console FPS available to market. It is not as good as the PC, but it is better than any 360 FPS, i.e. Halo 3.
I find that hard to believe a game, that isn't out yet is better than every 360 fps.

even if i gave damn, i couldn't afford it anyway. i'm a student, i barely have enough money to have a meal every day of the week!
Really? Im a student who is loaded with money. Then again my job pays really well.

ON TOPIC: No one game will justify a purchase of a system. I owned a PS3 before I got my 360 and I only bought the 360 for a set of oh, about 25 exclusives.
I think when Kratos comes roaring in with his Blades of Chaos that will help PS3 sales.

i'm living in halls, thus having to pay my own rent, in another country (Wales, and i'm from Southern England), and i havn't been able to find a job, because they all get taken by 2nd and 3rd years before we freshers even get our acceptance letters. and my Student Loan only gets about £1000 every term, about £400 of which goes straight out on th rent, everything else is food, books and transport (bus)

and like i said, even if i had the money, i rally couldn't care less about the ps3 anyway. no matter what comes out on it.

Hey, Hey, cool it man. Flaming is not appreciated here. KZ2 could be a better fps than you think, just let it show its stuff in a bit more than a week. Think about it the 360 may have a huge hold on the market place but its not so strong that it sucks in all the good games.
