I will ABSOLUTELY see 4-6 just to be able to see them on the big screen again.

I may even spring for 3 as that one was actually pretty good...

There is no answer other than "HELLS YEAH!" I'm gonna see the original trilogy in the cinema, it'll be incredible, even if I do have to go alone because none of my friends will come.

I an seriously considering seeing the star wars rereleases but at the same time I feel that it would be cheaper to just watch them at home for less, and not have any 3D, but at the same time I havent seen the Empire strikes Back or The return of the Jedi so maybe I should hold off for the theater experience? I enjoyed the prequels very much but am not sure how the old ones will hold up. How about you guys?
As i understand you seen Star Wars as in "Episode IV: A New Hope"...

...if you liked that one, chances are good enough that you gonna like one of the sequels or even both of them even more.

...As such, for you personally it might be worth saving for the theatrical experience...although then again, it might be spoiled by people who seen those films a million times and already start to cheer or sneer before scenes happen...

If you a willing to take a risk, wait, if not, enjoy those films in the ways available to you.

As for me, i've seen the prequels in cinemas, and don't feel like i need to see them in 3D (or when it comes to at least Episode 1, never again at all).
As for the original trilogy, i'm too young to have seen them theatrically (and missed out on the SE re-releases)...so it MIGHT be appealing to finally see those on the big screen, but i don't feel like it's a must, so i'll think about it when the time comes.

I've paid to watched the special edition trilogy years ago and never again will I watch the mostly same materials in the cinema.
Beside I hate 3D nor do I want to pay a pound to two more for the already expensive ticket. George Lucas is not getting anymore of my money.

I will, but only because there is the threat that they will only show phantom menace and no more if the numbers don't stack up. (I personally think that is the biggest crock ever, Geroge Lucas has more money than Jabba the hutt at this point, and Lucasarts need to get back to making more games than just Star Wars, there other games were quite good too aparently....)

Id prefer it if they gave the option or seeing them in 2D, and when getting to IV-VI without all the naffola additions that have been made over the years but hay ho.

It all hinges on the writing pretty much. Special effects aren't bad per se, unless that is the only thing they're willing to spend money on...
Fingers crossed.

I refused to buy the Blu-Ray rereleases. George Lucas went to far with some of the changes.
god damn it Lucas...

But I will go see the series in 3D. First one comes out at the end of this year.

I'll go and see Episode 1 just to check it out. I'm a fan of the prequels, so I'm hoping that Jar Jar will have been toned down and Anakin's "woohoo"s and "yipee"s will have been edited out.

this is George Lucas were talking about, hes probably renamed it to jar jars adventure in star wars land revenge of the woohoo

Anyway Nope, at this point star wars is dead to me, there's nothing you can really do to convince me otherwise at this point.

Hell No. But not just because it is Star Wars and GL has screwed me too many times. With the exception of Toy Story 3 I have never seen a movie where the 3D even remotly adding anything to the experience. If they releace them in 2D along side them then I would go and see the originals again just to relive my childhood.

Also what are the differences between the originals and the special editions? I have seen both and all I can tell is that some stuff has been added to the background. Whats the problem with that?

I understand the hate for the DVD release where he replaced the Vader/Emporer scene and sticking Hayden Christensen at the end of Jedi. And I REALLY understand about the changes in the Blu ray releases.

I'll definitely be seeing the Star Wars saga re-released in 3D, even the prequel trilogy, as I'm part of the minority that enjoys them.

I like Star Wars, it was a big part of my childhood and there's a lot of good memories there.
But as I've stated in the past, I'm not spending any more money on the Star Wars franchise.

I went and saw The Empire Strikes Back when they re-released that in cinemas in like, 1997 or 1998. I enjoyed that, and at the time I wished I'd seen the other two as well. I don't know if I'd like to see them in 3D though, I've never gone to a 3D film before and if I didn't like it then I would feel a bit let down. I already wear glasses, so I'm assuming you have to wear 3D glasses over your glasses? Which, I know from having to wear safety specs over my glasses in the lab I work in, isn't all that comfortable.

Probably not, partly because I lost interest in Star Wars not just because of the prequels but just because over time my interest faded, and partly because I'm at uni and unless someone else pays I'm not that interested.

I'm tempted to go see the prequels just to be able to make fun of them in the theater, but only if I have the option of watching in 2D, and I have some extra money at the time, because I won't pay money that I could have used for something good on seeing those CGI shitfests.

As for the originals, there's no way I'll be able to dissuade myself from going to see them, I just love them too much. No matter how much Lucas changes them to try and make them just as bad as the prequels, I can't pass up the chance to be able to see my favorite movie trilogy in theaters for the first time.
