As someone who grew up with Winnie the Pooh and has one of the poetry books in her favourite memories of all time... I'm pretty damn excited. This looks very adorable, and could very well be another case of the Toy Story 3. Not to mention, the old-style animation and book-style presentation is beautiful, unique, and nice to see again over this surge of 3D.

What do you think? Are you going to see this movie?

I'm sure you will.

I never was a fan of Winnie the Pooh. Something about him really bothered me, so this movie does not do anything for me. Also, I highly doubt it will be anything close to another Toy Story 3, that film was absolute brilliance.

On a more positive note, it is nice to see that they are sticking to the original style. I am tired of people updating things. As much as I am not looking forward to the movie, I'm not mad at it either.

Umm. I know know this is gonna sound pathetic but... I cried. I loved the books as a child and say the cartoon growing up but I soon forgot them. Watching this...It all came back. I'm 21 and I just cried for Winnie the Pooh. I'll be watching this.

Btw, what is the song that is playing?

Seems like a vain attempt by Disney to cash in on past glories. Could work though. Just one question: What in the hell happened to Owl's voice? I mean, I know the old voice-actors were...well, old, and that gradually they've moved onto soundalikes, but, if that was the case with Owl too, they failed hard.

Somewhere only we know - Keane.

I probably won't go see it, but if my nieces wanted me to take them, I definitely would, or watch it on DVD when it comes out. I heard the voice actor for Tigger died recently... I wonder if this was his last movie, or if they got a voice impersonator?

He did die recently, but around the end of the old cartoon, he ended up flip-flopping roles with Jim Cummings, until eventually he ended up doing Tigger's voice by himself. So now Jim Cummings is the voice of Pooh as well as Tigger.

And since I can see you are a Kingdom Hearts fan, you should know did Jim did the voice of Pete, Pooh, and Tigger in all of them, if that helps you anymore.

Doubt I'll see it in theatres in case someone spots me going. I don't have much of a reputation, but the little I do I've got to try and keep hold of.
I may make a sneaky order of the DVD though. I don't even remember much of Winnie the Pooh, but there's something about it I've always missed. Might remember what it is if I see the film.

So darned catchy...
Even if that's all I miss it for, I'm gonna see it at some point. It's Winnie the Godamn Pooh.

EDIT:
I also genuinely laughed at the sneeze thing in the trailer. It's an old, overused joke aimed at children. And I laughed.
I think I need help.

I was all for this up until Christopher Robin spoke in the trailer. I mean, I know he is supposed to be a young kid but that voice would ruin the film for me.

I actually thought he did the voice of Tigger right up until he died, I didn't know he shared roles. It's been a while since I've had anything to do with KH or Winnie the Pooh, so I can't quite remember the cast >__>;

You don't sound pathetic because I cried at the end of the Tigger Movie. *sigh*

I am ECSTATIC about this movie, personally. Lately (and by that I mean late Eisner-era) all Disney has been doing is dragging their characters through the mud, dumbing them down and turning them into awful-looking computer animated baby shows that lack the quirks and charm that made them good in the first place.

But now they're finally going back to what they do best--making gorgeous 2D animation and bringing the characters we know and love to their original personalities. It's going to take a while to earn everybody's trust and respect for the "Disney Quality" again, but so far this looks like a very good start down that path.

I do have a couple of problems already, though. Apart from the obvious problem of Owl's voice, I have a question: Where's Gopher? I understand he wasn't one of the original A.A. Milne characters, but he's become an integral part of the Disney Pooh lore, yet we haven't seen him since the original TV Pooh series that ended in 1991!

My suspicion behind that is they didn't want a character that mocked people with speech impediments, but I really hope that isn't true and he does make it into the film.

Winnie the Pooh is the icon of my childhood, and there is no way I'm missing this film.

I'm not going to see it. I feel no affection towards the animated characters. The books I loved (And still continue to love) were always reduced in the cartoon. It didn't do it for me.
