Let me tell you a story about me, of all people. Ever since the 6th grade I've been arching. Either at school, in clubs, or with my own bow and arrow. I went up from the homemade wood bow to the store bought metals/plastics. So its was no surprise that when we do Archery in Gym class, everyone knows I'm the best. Whatever, I said, its a skill and I'm modest about it. Hell I taught as much as the gym teacher on those days, I never showed off unless some kid was mouthing off.

But that's not when it gets bad, in high school, I started using crossbows, they're way different in my opinion so it was like starting from scratch. I'm not a fan of guns but someday I hope to get Marine Corps Sniper training, to complete my little "Trilogy". But in this day and age my extensive knowledge of these 3 Marksman Weapons is slowly turning me into an Elitist, you see people on CoD going crazy about Snipers. Listing off a bunch of letters and numbers like they're pros at it.

I usually end up hating this personality, people who are like "hey snipers are cool in halo they kill in one hit and they cant see me i want to be a sniper when I grow up haha" while I spent my whole life with these weapons (more or less). It gets my blood boiling then it hit me... I'm a goddamn snob! I don't shoot crossbows much anymore and I've never shot a gun yet in order to 'change' I guess. But when you get really good at something, and make it your life, its those kinds of people who will piss you off. I can only imagine how I'll feel once I'm done my training -.-

So, have you ever been an elitist at what you do?

That whole sense of elitism comes across my mind a lot, actually.

I started tinkering with computers back when I was 10 or 11. The thought just struck me to screw around with my terrible old Dell and so my hardware-inclined computer fixation began.

Recently, someone in one of my classes decided that it was best to be extremely annoying and brag constantly to me about his PC by parroting the specs of the hardware, without really knowing what they meant. Now, I have no problem admitting that there's tons of people out there that do the same thing as I do and are loads better than me, but when someone who barely knows the GPU from the CPU comes around and starts talking smacking, it's time to throw down the gauntlet.

I dunno, I guess it's just a natural reaction to pointless arrogance.

I am tremendously jealous, I wish I had the means to pick up the bass as well. Guess I'll just stick with drums and shitty piano playing.

I realized I was a guitar elitist when I was at an empty coffee shop one morning and the servers were talking about the song "Paranoid" which was playing on the radio at that moment. One of the girls said, "This song is so hard to play on Guitar Hero." I don't know why, but for some reason (probably a lack of judgement resulting from lack of sleep), I felt the need to say how easy it is to play on real guitar. She just looked at me like a germ (not that I blame her) and walked away. I must say, I felt like shit after saying it.

sure I brag, I win in Warhammer all the time (that's the Tabletop game mind you) but I don't feel that my regular opponents really know what they're doing when they make thier armies, but hey, they're 18+ so whatever

If its any consolation, I envy your drum-playing-ness. I wish I had the money and the space for a kit...

Cool I didn't know anyone else here practiced archery. I have yet to use a crossbow but I am now taking up various sword styles and techniques since I am about as good as I am goign to get with archery (I still practice)

OT: I used to show off a lot of tae kwon do in grade school because it was cool back then. (Yes I took and still do take tae kwon do classes)

Smash Bros elitist here. First it was Falco in SSBM. Then it was Sonic in Brawl. No one can beat me. Or at least they couldn't back when i still had a Gamecube and a Wii.

And i'm something of a tactics elitist. My ability to crush my enemies with superior tactics is legendary among my friends.

I'm an elitist twat about Super Smash Bros. - I once did some training for a couple of casual games round my friend's house.

That training involved me beating Intense mode with only one continue and fighting multiple level 9s.

Fun isn't it? I used to take on a 9 Ganon, 9 Mr. game&watch, and a 9 Samus. I'd kick their ass with Falco of all characters. Stay in the air and use the c stick aerial attacks. Cpu's can never see it coming.
