I'm an sarcastic, cynical, elitist jerk when it comes to metal and playing guitar. And video games. I've been met with twats who say things like "Halo is the best game EVVAAAAR!". Don't get me wrong, Halo is good in certain merits and I have nothing against it and it's fan base. But there are those who have only played Halo and treats it like God. It really gets me annoyed and I will put everything to debate, no matter how nerdy I look.

I am actually quite good at drawing, and fuck yes do I rub that into everyones face. I hate people who try to critique it and then I say "K, nice to know".

Yeahhh, pretty much this.

I have never been good enough at anything to consider myself an elitist.

If I was though, it would be clay pigeon shooting, as I do have moments of skill. Maybe 1 day I'll be good enough at it to be elitist about it :p

Practice makes perfect.

Hell, your avatar even looks proud.

I don't really have much to add to this discussion. I guess I'm kind of an elitist about Metal (the music, not the material).

I am good at Monopoly, and I do let my competitive side get the better of my. However, people walk all over me when I go to friends houses and play Super Smash Bros Brawl (don't own the game, or a Wii for that matter.) I guess that everyone is elitist when they are skilled, it compensates for the areas that they are weak on.

Always remember that there's a 6 year old kid out there who can do whatever it is you're so proud of, and do it better, and you'll never become an elitist prick.
This. Whatever it is you think your shit hot at, put it into google and hold your head in shame at the pre-pubescent asian kid who can make you look like a retarded amateur.

That whole sense of elitism comes across my mind a lot, actually.

I started tinkering with computers back when I was 10 or 11. The thought just struck me to screw around with my terrible old Dell and so my hardware-inclined computer fixation began.

Recently, someone in one of my classes decided that it was best to be extremely annoying and brag constantly to me about his PC by parroting the specs of the hardware, without really knowing what they meant. Now, I have no problem admitting that there's tons of people out there that do the same thing as I do and are loads better than me, but when someone who barely knows the GPU from the CPU comes around and starts talking smacking, it's time to throw down the gauntlet.

I dunno, I guess it's just a natural reaction to pointless arrogance.
At least that's someone who can list spec.

The most my friends manage is (direct quote):

"What computer have you got?"

"Vista."

"Cool - good isn't it?"

(Me:) "Err... You know Vista is just the OS, right?"

"What's that?"

(Me:) "... Nevermind."

I've spent many years training in shinkendo (japanese swordsmanship), and while I'm usually pretty good about it, I will admit sometimes my pride can get the better of me.

I especially loathe the foaming-at-the-mouth anime kids "omgkatanacool". The last time I accompanied a friend of mine to a game con(we're tabletop gamers) I ran into some dolt dressed as somebody from an anime waving a foam sword around. Since I was in my training uniform at the time, because it was comfy and I felt like it, this guy proceeded to spout about 90 comments on how I look like this dude from this anime but you're missing this, or the wood stick I was wearing looks nothing like a REAL katana(which amused me, i was wearing my bokken, and he pronounced it kuh-tuna).

In retrospect I probably shouldn't have been such a dick, but I leaned over, got real close, and told him rather sarcastically, "Kid, I have no idea what the fuck you're talking about, I don't watch anime, and I'm not dressed as anybody. One of these days, you should grow up, and then maybe you can learn to use a REAL(putting the same emphasis he had on the word, for extra sarcasm) sword. Now shoo."

I'm a massive elitist when it comes to guitar, and especially bass. This is one of the reasons why I loathe Guitar Hero. I've been around guitars all my life, been playing for years, gotten grade 8 in both bass and electric guitar, and then some little brat comes in brandishing a GH controller, plays Dragonforce on it and thinks he's god! That bastard!
News Flash!

99.999% of people who play Guitar Hero know they cannot play real guitar and that it's just a game.

Musically, definitely. Specifically, piano. You'll run into these people that think they're all good and awesome because they can play some crappy pop tune that's so easy I could have played it when I was six years old. I hate those people.

They all deserve to die in a fire.

i was an elitist in mario kart double dash.

now they don't wanna play with me anymore.(and i didn't play it all the time i just got good reflexes)
Lol.
Same with me.
None of my sisters want to play MK: DD or MK: Wii with me because i can jump the road in both game's Rainbow Road.
In all of the MK games i have been really good for no reason other than iv got good reflexes and i can race on Rainbow Road without falling.

Smash Bros elitist here. First it was Falco in SSBM. Then it was Sonic in Brawl. No one can beat me. Or at least they couldn't back when i still had a Gamecube and a Wii.

And i'm something of a tactics elitist. My ability to crush my enemies with superior tactics is legendary among my friends.
.......(remembers a few Falco and Sonic players) (Crys)

Im not there yet but im close, i do love pointing out each characters perks whenever i play with friends or my sisters.
I still lose to a few people(Aura Guardian in particular) but i win most of the time.
Most people dont like to play with me because i use traps with items or hit them with items like Deku Nuts or Gooey Bombs while they try to recover.

Me and my wife are both gamers, and love to play together in pretty much any game that has multiplayer. But god help you if you play her in Halo. A certain dark light casts over her normally quite bright eyes, a cocky sneer forms over her mouth, and my palms begin to sweat.

Final score

Sarah - 150

Mark - 3

And I swear, I never hear the end of it. She continues to gloat about it for HOURS, sometimes even days.

We stick to Left 4 Dead for the sake of our marriage and my sanity. And we have found that Co-Op games are far more fun to play.

TL;DR MEH WIEF IZ L33TIST @ HALO.

Also, how good of a drummer are you? And where do you live?
I like to think I'm pretty damn good considering I've only been playing for a little over 4 years. But like I said, I don't mention it unless there is douchebaggery afoot, like in this situation -

I'm an elitist bastard when it comes to rifles.
It. Pisses. Me. Off. when I have to deal with children who treat a weapon like it is from a video game. You know, like those kids that say the M16 is gay.
Raaaaaaaaaage moment for me right there.

I can guarantee to you that playing Through the Fire and Flames on anything harder then Easy is harder then playing Through the Fire and Flames on a guitar.

In his own world, that kid is a god, and rightly so. Not many people can do that. The "Best Guitar Hero Player" I know can't beat it.
