Where was the huge explosions that the title said there were?

I still say and will always say: Harry Potter is a Meh story. The author should be happy that her book did so well. I am always happy that a fantasy book/series such praise by the masses.

A pitched wizard vs wizard siege is actually something I've never managed to imagine. I'm certainly looking forward to knowing what that might look like.

[em]NEEEAAAAAAAAAH!!!![/em]

Voldemort screams the same sound file 4 times in a trailer that is less than 2 minutes long, averaging one NEEEAAAAAAAAH every 30 seconds.

Epic.

And so about ten years of disappointing movies comes to an end. Finally. I can't even begin to express how bad these have been and the trailer isn't an exception, it's like whoever decided to do the adaptation never gave a rats ass in the first place about the books.

And what the fuck is up with Harry and Voldemort doing a Spiderman dive off the Hogwarts walls? Ugh.
i liked maybe the first 2 but after that they just became gray lifeless and overall disappointing

Should I admit that I have never read the 7th book? I've heard most of it in audiobook form in my wife's car, but largely out of order and disjointed. So while I know the basic ending, my first thought when reading this post was "epilogue?"

I'm about halfway through the book now, reading a chapter every night or so at bedtime for the kids....

Is its me... Or is half of the trailer Voldemort screaming?
After all the comments I had to watch again to count, he do the same scream about 6-7 times in 1 trailer.

I don't know how many here share my actions, but I still haven't gotten around to watch the first part because I was afraid it would be the same thing as with Casino Royale and Quantum Of Solace. Now I see it was the right decision to make. I am going to buy the DVD, watch it and then go the next day and see the second part.

It sounds like the opposite of Kill Bill Vol.1 and 2. As in, there, the 1st one had all the action and less dialogue while the second was the other way around. But they were both amazing. I have a gut feeling this will also be the case with Harry.

We love you, man. And we are gonna miss ya.

On a more sad note: Oh My God. It ends. What next?

Oh wait, I know!

I don't think there has ever been a film series to produce as many quality films as Harry Potter. 7 films each with good to great critical acclaim and each entertaining in their own right.

Well done HP, well done.
You haven't seen the fifth movie have you?
You mean the 5th movie with a 71 on metacritic and 78% certified fresh on rottentomatoes?

You mean the movie that introduced true wand-combat to the film series?

Yes I saw the 5th movie. And I had problems with it.

I never said they were perfect, revolutionary, or amazing. All I said is that they all got good to great reviews and they were all entertaining in their own right.
I'm still trying to figure out why so many people had a problem with the 5th movie, what problems did you have with it?
They just cut too much out. That's pretty much it. They got rid of a 30 minute epic fight scene and just ended it.

I'm just curious, did you ever have actually time to read any of the books, or did getting on your high horse take all your time?

You'd be hard pressed to find even so called "intellectuals", at least ones who didn't have their heads buried far, far up their own asses, who didn't agree that the Potter books were fantastic in their genre and already comparable to classics like Roald Dahl and Stevenson.
O boy you pulled out the Roald Dahl (the author who wrote James and the Giant peach) and Stevenson.

come on their classics
You have to expand and Not just read the good oldies over and over again.

And so it ends ;_;
Although i was severely dissapointed at the lack of attention the death of Hedwig got in the first part of the Deathly Hallows. Hell to Dobby, Hedwig was a far more key character she was there from the very start.
I didn't know you could get fan boyish over an Owl.

Oh yeah, forgot that could be a reason. Haven't read the 5th book so I didn't see it like that, but I'm gonna agree that's pretty shit.

This trailer actually looks pretty good....

But, I'm not going to hold my breath. The Harry Potter movies have been a big disappointment for me since the 4th movie (mostly because I'm a fan of the books. I can understand that people who don't read the books can find the movies interesting and entertaining, but when I watch my beloved HP get ripped and hacked apart, and I can't help but feel some disdain). Then, for no other reason than to squeeze extra dollars out of fans' pockets (then put the last one in 3D to get more bang for the buck), they split the most boring of the books in two. For those who can remember the 7th book, no action really picks up until the last couple of chapters. Before that, we're treated to mostly relationship developments and scouring the lands. And while, in a book that could be okay, in a movie, it's just boring. And that's what the first installment of this two-parter was:: BORING. It was all wide shots of landscape and whining from the characters. And it carried on for over two hours. Not necessary.

So, here's hoping that they'll at least end the series well. At least this way, since I go in with low expectations, I'll be impressed a lot easier than the next moviegoer.

It was a good trailer and it made me excited to see the movie, but wow that Voldemort cry really killed it. I mean once near the end of the trailer would have been epic and chilling, but playing it THREE FRIGGIN TIMES throughout the short trailer completely ruined it for me.

"NNYYYEEEAAAAAAAAAAA"

"NNYYYEEEAAAAAAAAAAA"

"NNYYYEEEAAAAAAAAAAA"

Imagine if in the Dark Knight trailer they played Joker's "Why so serious?" line 3 times within 2 minutes. Yeah, it'd get tired too.

'Bout time this got itself to an ending. I suppose I'll have to see this one in theatres as I did grow up reading and watching this story. Also t seems to be an action movie with six other movies of backstory at this point.

Okay, well this looks pretty coo-

"Complete the journey... in 3D!"

...oh well, back to the drawing board.

you don't have to watch it in 3D

Some people, swear to god.

8SPOILERS* Harry should have died, like all GOOD English fictional characters
BUT HE DID!

Kind of... Maybe...

not...

Anyway, I'm still looking forward to this. I'll just be glad it's finally over.
