Just looking for EXPERIENCES (not character moments or cutscenes) in games that made you audibly go "Holy fucking shit this game is AWESOME!" Can either be in story rendition or just mentioning the experience itself. Also please only mention older or less new games as to avoid spoilers, though some are inevitable.

I.E: Running up the stone club/sword of the 3rd colossus the first time in Shadow of the Colossus.

The Shagohod chase scene in MGS3 (when you're on the bike with EVA)

Riding a mongoose off of a ramp, landing on a scarab and having it go nuclear while riding said mongoose off of the scarab in Halo 3.

As you can see, I haven't experienced many (eww halo 3). Which is one of the reasons I'm starting this.

Well when I play L4D I use a few console commands.

Namely, z_mega_mob_size_min 1000, *_max 2000 and z_common_limit 400.

turn on infinite ammo....and holy fucking shit.

Made my friends say it too. Even when we died :p

RUSE, my base was surrounded by my friend and when he was about to take over my base it exploded and killed everyone. It was EPIC.

Mercenaries. Like, every time you use an airstrike. And that constitutes around 70% of the game. You were encouraged to blow all your money on nuking the hell out of North Korea... well, as long as you didn't accidentally nuke the Queen of Hearts or someone important like that. Or you didn't accidentally nuke the base you were defending (but seeing those Chinese turn on me is so fun!).

Just Cause 2 had a lot of these moments, except they were in more well crafted situations with lots of explosions and stuff. No timely bunker busters or carpet bombs, but oh well, can't do 'em all.

Struggling to think of more...

Oh, right. That one Spec Ops mission in MW2, the one where you have to kill 15 Juggernauts on the oil rig. Doing that with a friend on veteran is nerve wracking. We developed a strategy which allows us to beat that mission every time on veteran as long as one guy is perfect in getting back to a specified kill zone and the other guy is perfect at taking them out before a certain point. And sometimes 2 or 3 Juggernauts can come up at the same time. Oh, those were fun...

A lot of WoW dungeons have woah moments. Battles can get tense if you're the healer. Everyone's relying on you to get them through without wiping.

Eternal Darkness' sanity effects spring to mind. Once that game starts messing with you in a very meta way, it gets real good.

Spider man 2, the first time you press the right trigger. Whoosh!

Gta san andreas, when you do a mission where you drive a motorcycle down a runaway dodging goons, up the back ramp of an airplane, have a katana fight with the guards, plant a bomb, then parachute to safety from several thousand feet.

Awesome.

Oh yes, I had forgotten to mention either Just Cause 2 or Mercenaries. How silly of me. Anything with immense detonations is right up there. Nothing cooler than walking slowly away from an explosion. Sunglasses optional.

Though I'm not necessarily looking for tense moments. I'm looking for experiences that would grow a full beard on a girl toddler, if you know what I mean. XD

Oh, I have one. When I was playing Halo 3 with my brother I was in the banshee and he shot me with the Spartan Laser and the debris from my banshee came down hit him and killed him.

Yes! Like that! Though feel free to post whatever you guys think is applicable. I like how my first thread is going :)

Mass Effect 1, the space battle. You know the one.

Mass Effect 2, after you go through the relay, and you have upgrades. I loved giving them they're freaking come-uppance. Especially after they freaking blew up MY SHIP! ~Grumble~

Supreme Commander, getting out the Cybertran/tron.. red cyborg guys spider super unit. I loved that thing. I oughta get that game off my shelf sometime..

Playing the final level on Halo 3 with a mate, and taking different warthogs. Man that was fun. If one gets left behind they get the joy of having the floor fall out behind them. That is tense. "Ooomiiigawwd drive fasteryoustupidJEEPTHEFLOORISFALLING!" For teh lulz.

Any and all L4D/2 moments where we have required new pants. Either from shitting it, or pissing ourselves laughing at shitting it. Favourite example, level four No Mercy. The final stairwell before the elevator, we had a tank. Both AI dead. Advanced at least I think. We were hiding in the stairwell, facing the door, since he was in the corridor. It was on fire. Safe reasoning we thought, one entrance towards us, and we get some running headstart. Rumblerumblerumble.. shakey screen.. Tank music.. Me and my mate tense.. waiting.. waiting.. waiting.. theeen suddenlyOMGTANKARMSWIPINGONYOURSCREEN!! It died the split second before it took a chunk out of my mate, we both saw the arm swiping along his screen from the side of us. We had been watching that ONE entrance.. Turns out the tank made its own one, behind and to the side of us. It broke a freaking wall for us. Never has my friend done a less manly squeal of terror.

I love multiplayer.

I'll admit I was pretty bored with MGS4 for a while until I got into the giant robot suit and started blowing away those fucking Geckos that I hate so much!

Then there's the entire boss fight w/ Hercules and Cronos in God of War 3. Come to think of it, that garden puzzle also impressed me.

The first time I performed the "Danse Macabre" move from Devil May Cry 3 left me O-faced.

Before RE5 came out, all I needed to hear was "offline multiplayer" and I knew I was going to love it.

And finally, I found my place as a Tekken player when I discovered Asuka Kazama.

Listening to classical toons in Saint's Row 2 whilst doing drive-bys; especially Hall of the Mountan King.

Left 4 dead can be hilarious sometimes. One that stands out was on mercy when a tank spawned in the high rise building just outside the elevator, where there's construnction going on, and no walls, so the it just drops off. He rushed us and knocked off two immediately. Then a molotov went off and everything was on fire. We got separated and started running like idiots when the tank pinned me to the ground and killed me. The best part was the dude that was left was just limping around taking potshots at the tank, going around a large box in circles hoping the tank couldn't turn corners fast enough. It was like a benny hill chase scene. :D

In Metroid Prime, I was fighting baby sheegoths for the 1st time. I thought they were pretty tough and scary as they were. When you had to fight in the arena with 4 of them, I was like, holy shit.
Them the adult Sheegoth came.

O.O
OH SHIT!

Play sandtrap on forge mode with a couch friend.
Spawn a crap ton of mines.
Deploy 50 mines in one pile.
Put 30 explosive fusion coils on top of pile.
Crash game with ensuing omega explosion.

Probably healing sindragosa in WoW. 10 or 25 man, flying through those lifebubble things and coming out doing whopper heals while everything under the sun was being aggro'd to you.

That was an intense moment!
