Is it just me and my perverted mind kicking in or did that mom look pretty hot? I condemn her for the acts she did but still she doesn't look half bad.
I agree. She was quite the milf. It seems that boy would agree too.

Oh my, just wait until his friends find out he fucked his mother.
Oh god, think of the "your mum" jokes...

And that article was so bad I almost threw up in my mouth. WHY would someone do that?!

Woah, I had to do a double take because where you said condemn I read commend. You scared the crap out of me.

They could've not named and shamed, then the kid would be able to live on with no-one knowing, and the mother prisoned rightfully. But nooo, they have to ruin the kids life too.

Journalism wins again.

Didn't this shit happen back during roman times? Next thing we'll hear is that the boy gouged his eye's out.

Now, let's see who get's THAT reference.
Oedipus, and it was greek.
Double Quote.

Ignore this.

Oedipus would be proud, I suppose.
Well, no. As Kemper already mentioned in this thread, Oedipus gouged his eyes out when he found out the truth, because he didn't want to look at his freak children. So he wasn't too thrilled at the prospect. I don't think he was even sexually attracted to her either, it was more of a "Oh, you freed our city, now marry our queen!" and he just went with it. He killed his father without knowing who he was, and the whole thing is more of a fable of a self fulfilling prophecy.

The more you know!

Yes, Yes, I'm aware that it's greek, but I figured I'd keep the reference vague.

And that's not at all a cover for the fact that I haven't checked my history in a bit.

*Cough*
That's all nice and all, but I looked at the other people who guessed it right and they got a cookie.

I believe you are forgetting to give me something...

Oedipus the King is a Greek play, not a Roman one...

EDIT: Damn ninjas.

I'll have to agree with you, but hold on a second, did the boy know that she was the mother? If so, that is equally messed up.

Way to remind us of that. That was one of the wierdest stories of 2010.

On topic, that is pretty wierd. Not grandson grandmother wierd, but using facebook to find a biological son then seek him out just to have a relationship... it's a good thing this woman is going to counseling.

He could easily get out of those. EG "I fucked your mum" He replies - "So did I, what's your point?"
BAM, his insulter is left speechless.

Hey! I thought we agreed that was thrown into the mind hell in which things are not ever referenced/spoken of! Bad Mcupobob! Go to your room and think about that, now.

Ahem.. more on topic however.. Motherfucking (no pun intended) mother/son relations, basically pedophilia without the need for the van to start it off.

I hate to be the one to crash the "EWWWWW!" party, but there's a very good explanation for why this happened - and it's not particularly rare, either.

It's called genetic sexual attraction. It's a common occurrence when long-lost blood relatives are reunited. They frequently describe the attraction as "an overwhelming rush of emotions combined with the irresistible sense of falling in love". This attraction is likely based on mirroring (attraction to our own characteristics in others) and a confused desire for closeness given the natural family relationship was disrupted by separation.

So yeah, it's a hardwired reaction, which is why it's usually a very bad idea for a mother and a son to reunite, unsupervised, when both are entering their respective sexual primes. Their emotions, combined with their hormones, easily overwhelm any sense of wrongdoing, especially in the absence of persistent social markers - such as the boy's adoptive family.

Anyways, here's a good way to think about just how powerful this attraction is for these people. Think about a guy or gal you're extremely attracted to for no good reason. He/she might be cute to the rest of the world, but you think he/she is gorgeous beyond compare. You're drawn to him/her in a way you cannot fully describe - almost like you were meant to be together. When you're around each other, everything just "fits". Sounds a lot like true love, doesn't it?

Well all of that works perfectly within the context of a mother reuniting with the young man she gave up for adoption some ten years ago. He's unrecognizable as her "child" now, and she didn't see the progression. All she sees is a young man who mirrors a lot of her own characteristics, and for whom she feels an undeniable urge for closeness. When two adults (grant me that he's sexually mature) have that sort of connection, the expression of said "closeness" typically involves the horizontal mamba.

Look it up. Plenty of sob stories about long-lost siblings or parent/child pairs where one or both develop obsessive feelings after reuniting for the first time.

Sidebar: it probably doesn't help when she's a certified hottie.

The kid must have already murdered his father. Now I shall await the press release saying she is pregnant with his child.

Seriously though: It's weird, a little gross, nothing more to it. I do find it odd though that she get's 30 years in prison for ga goodadying the kid's geschmoigen, when murderers get as little as under 10 years. The "justice" system makes no sense to me...

Interesting little thought experiment here...

http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/05/20/louisiana.brother.next.door/index.html

There's a good chance the man in this article was thinking about hooking up with the girl across the street until he found out she was his half-sister.
