wonder trade chain (pokemon x/y)

I did a silly/fun thing I just did a wonder trade chain for fun
repeatedly trading pokemon till I got something useful

started by trading a level 1 trapinch and thus the a chain started
First I got a lvl 1 gloomy swapped it
got a level 3 bidooof T.T
swapped that and got a level 1 areodactal
swapped it and got a skiddo level 8 nicknamed lady fatass (lol)
traded fatass and receved a japanese swirlix

Im keeping him as becuse this is a x only pokemon and mines Y

i might do some more chains later after I breed some more fodder (I am gonna do level 1 eevees)

but though it would be fun for others to share wonder trades


suprizingly I thought it would be filled with trash pokemon but this chain isnt my first ppl seem pretty good about not trading rubbish pokemon

did some other trades and got a pikachu with pokrus and a charmander

I've actually hit gold with it. By gold I mean Pokerus, as someone sent me a Ghastly with Pokerus and I've been infecting all my pokemon with it ever since.

I've also been sending out Pokemon in Wonder Trade with Pokerus to help out people. ^.^

I've been sending out starters and the two fossil Pokemon, haven't really gotten anything good yet, but hopefully those who I've helped will start doing the same. I like to imagine their reactions to getting a rare Pokemon like that. Though I wish someone would wonder trade me a Skiddo with a silly name though...

I've got a few starters that way. It's pretty cool. I try to put something decent on there. I traded an Aerodactyl. If I get a Bidoof, I just release it to clean up the wonder trade pool.

I got all the starters, a vulpix, magikarp, elekid, and an abra through wonder trade, I think the system has been pretty generous so far but I've started my own initiative to in a small way rid wonder trade of pokemon that I think are perpetually in the system such as flabebe, so instead of just trading it back in I just release the damn thing, It is probably an exercise in futility but it makes me feel better.

I almost exlussively recieve pokemon from the first route, which is why i don't use it a lot.

I've been doing something similar, but when the chain gives me a bad pokemon (bidoof, caterpie etc) I check it for pokerus, if no pokerus i release it and put in a better 'mon. I've been breeding eevee's recently and since the mother was caught in a luxury ball, I've been sending out pokerus infected luxury ball eevees (the ball just makes espeon/umbreon really quick to get, looks cool to).

I mean if we are gonna do chain trade we might as well filter out the crap. Except foreign pokemon, I keep all of those for breeding. (Foreign 'mon + local mon increases the shiny chance, it's still extremely hard to get but every little bit helps).

I'm planning to get revenge by becoming a Lickitung breeder, and send hundreds of Lickitungs into the wounder trade pool. A bunch of mates are on board with this, and ill gladly accept help.

I shall only stop when I create the perfect Lickitung.

I got an Inkay early on my playthrough through wonder-trade, so I'm happy with it. I put in some crappy route 1 Pokemon, though, because I was so early in the game, but I've tried to pay back by breeding starters and Eevee and sending them through.

I've been breeding like crazy for natures, and everything I don't use I usually throw into the Wonder Trade.

So far it's been about ten of each starter, and about 100 or so Riolu. Haven't gotten anything especially crazy, but I have added a decent amount of Pokemon to my Pokedex that I hadn't had before.

I've got some fairly good pokemon out of there: starters, Eevees, Gibles, Dittos, some I hadn't got around to catching yet etc. I always put in decent pokemon though, mostly from Friend Safari or starters or version exclusives, since it's no fun receiving trash from the first few routes of the game and I like to feel I'm doing my bit to make Wonder Trade a good experience. I also just box or release any trash pokemon I receive, to try and take some of the crap out of circulation.

I got a Kangaskhan for one of my failed Absol breeds... I felt kinda bad about that one...
Also, one of my very first wonder trades landed me a special edition Pikachu, with a heart shaped tail. I think he got a Weedle, because I already had a Kakuna... feel bad about that one too.

That's what Wonder Trade is for right? :S

Hell if I know. I just saw it and thought, "Yeah, theres probably 29 different special Pikachu tails by this point." >.> I haven't had a Pikachu since Yellow version, and it's a terrible gender difference if so.
Well that's already then, I guess I didn't jip anyone out of something. :>

I see it less as a "trade," more as a gift.

I've sent out about 30 pokemon so far, consisting mostly of ditto, eevee, fossil pokemon, and starters. If I get something cool back, that's just a nice bonus.

My favorite trade so far has been an eevee for an eevee.

I've hit some rare gold with Wonder Trades. I've found that Japanese and Australian traders give better than Americans. No offence, but I seriously don't need 15 lv2 Weedles America. I'll take the one Mightya that isn't exclusive to my version from Australia thanks.

Its very much luck of the draw.

On the one hand I keep getting level 3 pikachus from people just starting the game. On the other hand I got a Fennikin with a crap nickname that I can atleast breed with.

I tend to try trade away wanted pokemon like stacks of haunters at a time just to give people that little something extra.

Its a novel idea and I applaud gamefreak for doing it. :3

The second Riolu I caught was Modest. I was super excited that I wouldn't have to breed a million of them.

PROTIP: Catch Ditto's with good natures and have them hold an everstone. 50% of the time they will pass their nature to whatever you are breeding.

I've used Wonder Trade for the lolz a bit, but I am doing the bulk of my trading over the GTS. Trading friend safari pokemon and breeding them to get more is proving far easier than filling my friend's list with people I don't know. I already have almost all the Gen 1 Pokemon you can get this way. Once I am done raising them the only Gen 1 mons I will be missing are: Ratatta family, Meowith family, Koffing family, Porygon and Articuno/Zapdos. Considering I don't have any old games compatible with bank when that comes out I'm hoping I find someone who can easily part with the first four. I can trade around legendary birds (don't care for using legendaries, anyway).
