I'm sorry, you seem to have forgotten one small contender...

THE WARNER BROTHERS CARTOONS!

Some of the most memorable animated characters ever, with hysterically funny writing for both adults and kids alike and you didn't even mention them... Maybe this is why Marvin the Martian wants to blow up the planet...
I watched those all the time but theyre really old and hard to watch now, same for hannah-barbera and there was no definitive one i could list.
I wholeheartedly disagree. I think the Looney Tunes cartoons actually stand the test of time excellently. The animation is solid and the humor is straightforward, clever, and far from dated, even if some situations repeat themselves pretty often.

All in all, your list is solid but has a lot of mediocre action shows. I'd add Daria, some version of Spiderman, and Johnny Bravo. Oh, also South Park. I feel like on an objective level, this list is incomplete without South Park.

Aaand there goes my interest for this list. Sorry, man(or woman. I don't know). Nice of you to take the time to make it, though. Might check out some of those some other time.

the only johnny bravo ep i can remember is his christmas special, but cmon most episodes are the same with the same running gag. I liked him best when he had that one show and he would crossover with other ones like scooby doo.
But i totally forgot south park and will add that.

hey i gave that show a chance and it let me down. The joke most of the time is that these stereotyped characters are stupid compared to daria who is such a boring character herself
I would totally recommend doug, hey arnold, pepper ann or weekenders over it as they are also teen life toons.

Eeewwww... the first 2 are boring as hell, but I've never herd of the other 2.

You're clearly not watching correctly.

I'm throwing my suggestion in for Teen Titans. Loved that cartoon. Great animation and comedy with some pretty strong character growth. Also, it has the REAL Starfire in it. Not that atrocity they call Starfire now. All the other cartoons I watched and loved as a kid (and today) are on that list. 'Cept the ponies, but to each his own.

Edit: Almost forgot about Ahhh! Real Monsters. I'm probably forgetting a few more but these two are the only ones I can think of at this time.

I refuse to allow a spin off of beavis and butt head or anything related to them.
plus mission hill is somewhat like it stylistically but better.

This far and nobody's posted about MLP:FiM?
Colour me impressed.
But yeah...
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, because I need serious help. I may or may not be obsessed on a dangerous level.

As an "Old Person" that grew up in the 80s Imma say you forgot "The Smurfs." Not only was it a good show, it was also one of the very few cartoons in the 80s that weren't created specifically to sell cheap toys.
There are a lot that I could disagree with, but it's your list, so I'll just say I'm glad to see that Rocko's ML, Dexter's Lab and Futurama are in there.
Also, MLP: FiM is best pony... cartoon.

Man if only i could intro you to this guy who grew up watching the smurfs all the time and doesnt know why and hates every second of it.

and theres nothing really special about mlp besides the memes and fanbase it spawned.
Its creators predecessor fosters home and power puff girls are much better.

I wonder, the only I would throw in is the early seasons of code lyoko (later ones not so great), MLP:FIM (its the only interesting early kids television show in my opinon; thus it deserves cred), Avatar the last airbender; spongebob post-movie is really god awful; also thanks for reminding me of some really good shows; although adventure time I feel has ran out of ideas

Oh and the single greatest thing to ever come out of disney channel: emperors new school; it didn't last all that long but the episodes are funny and clever, it came out in that awkward phase disney channel went though and is more or less out of

Currently Justice League unlimited holds my position for greatest American Cartoon.

By the end of it's run, this show, primarily aimed at a younger audience, was straight up saying several JLU members were having the sex.

Also, Black Guy Green Lantern is the ONLY Green Lantern. If any ever says there were any other green lanterns that were not black guys then they are a LIAR and must be KEELT before they can spread their lies any further.

I thought of code lyoko due to how unique it was but its a french cartoon
I also thought of w.i.t.ch. and some canadian shows, but these are strictly american.

You put Legend of Korra ahead of Avatar: Last Airbender?
Don't make me laugh.
This. And no Ed, Edd, 'n Eddy? Shame on you, OP.
I like korra now more than the original, ive seen the original tens of times and wouldnt really want to sit through book 1 water again or most of book 2.
Korras a new streamlined version with updated animation and you dontt seem to have read the note i put that just cause its ranked it doesnt mean its better it just means I prefer it. the ranking doesnt really mean anything to anybody else its just mine, you try and rank stuff and see if people agree with you.

Also I already said ed edd and eddy was crap
horrible animation
horrible jokes
does not hold up and would not recommend to anybody really wanting a toon.

If I were to be objective in picking the BEST cartoon of all time - it would have to be the simpsons. No other cartoon will ever emulate the same amount of success the simpsons have accomplished

My favourite cartoon though is south park. Still saying humourous 16 seasons in. in my opinion.

The only new cartoon at the moment of any interest to me is adventure time. for a kids show it certainly does have some dark silly humour. Thumbs up.
