She had better be hot to make up for the retardation (probably has the personality of a crayon). I would have tried to screw with them more and really make an ass of them, but that's just me.
Even better. I'm not in public school, this is university. She's paying to attend these classes. x_Xoldmanwynter said:OT: woooooooooooowwww.....

Saying something that idiotic and actually being serious: priceless
There are some things public school can't teach. For everything else, there's karma.
Which movie was it? The Corporation? Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Prices? The Crooked E?Tasachan said:So, we were watching a movie in class about how corporations are evil, they exploit people and their only goal is to make as much money as possible. Well there's a decent cure for idiocy, and I don't know about Canada, but in the Us carrying it is legal...Tasachan said:So, we were watching a movie in class about how corporations are evil, they exploit people and their only goal is to make as much money as possible. Anyways, afterwards I was walking in the hall behind someone that had just come out of the same class. She and her friends were carrying fancy Gucci/Chanel purses, nice jewelry, quality shoes - you know the type. And they were saying, to paraphrase:
'Its good that we only pay people in small countries like $1 or $2 a day, because that is all they need. Rice and canned goods cost like 15 cents there, so its no big deal. And their cars cost like 3 thousand! If we pay them more, then what will they do with all that extra money? And, things will start costing more for us! That isn't fair.'
I was just... wowed by that. Honestly? $2 a day to support a family of 8? Sure, canned goods are cheap - but they can't be a staple. And $2 doesn't pay for medical care.
I was tempted to tell her to go live in one of those countries, working herself to the bone and see how "good" it was. But. For all I know she is actually a decent person, working to pay her way through school, and she's just a little confused.
heh.
Ever had a similar experience? Does anyone actually agree with her?[[EDIT: and, should I have posted this in politics? It isn't really politics, but... ]]
That just makes me think of how Garfield would always send Nermal to Abu Dabi in a packaging box when she annoyed him.ultrachicken said:My teacher thinks that central america is its own continent, that 28/30 on a test is a B-, and that repeating the same speech every class will make the class stop talking, even though it never works.
Seriously, somebody needs to give the girl described by the OP a lesson about how terrible it is in "small countries." Not that "send her to a 3rd world country" lesson, just plain telling her. She's obviously confused about how money works.
"A Pinto model built by ford leaves somewhere traveling at 60 mph. it gets rear ended and crashes and burns with everyone trapped inside. Now, should we initiate a recall? Take the number of vehicles in the field, A, multiply by the probable rate of failure, B, multiply by the average out of court settlement, C. A times B times C equals X. If X is less than the cost of a recall, we don't do one"Daystar Clarion said:Out of sight, out of mind. Let me give you an example.
Ford released their Pinto model in the 70s, this car had a habit of blowing up when rear-ended, due to a fault in the petrol tank. Ford knew of this fault and decided that it would be cheaper to pay any possible damages in court than to recall all the vehicles and correct the problem.
Also another fun fact, more people die at work due to unsafe conditions than to all violent crimes.
So remember fellow escapists, you're more likely to die today at work than you are at being stabbed during a mugging.

It's from a comedy series on Youtube called "Italian Spiderman". It's hilarious.elitepie931 said:Damn man, that just...I mean...I'm fucking speechless, all I can say is they're a bunch of idiots.

Fun fact. This is also the reason that cars blow up in movies (or at least the original reason).Daystar Clarion said:Out of sight, out of mind. Let me give you an example.

The Corporation, actually. The narrator's voice is a tad annoying, though.AvsJoe said:One day I want to see this girl cut off from her source of income and be forced to work for a living.
