What the hell is wrong with No?

Anyway, here's my carefully constucted educational list... sorta.
Epic, Fail, N00B, Gay... and that's it.

Gay = Stupid for some gay reason. Ugh.
It seemed overwhelming appropriate to put in place of statements like "Hey, that might be a good idea!" or "Why not?"

Noob (I facepalm whenever I think I see someone who uses this word in a serious manner. So stupid. So stupid.)
Rape (Again, I can hardly believe it when people actually USE this word to describe a victory. ridiculously stupid.)
annoying acronyms such as 'u' or 'y' when they aren't required to speed up typing.
Memes: u mad bro?

'Dumbed-Down'

What, like the people that find that system easier to understand are, by association, thick.

Oversimplified I can understand, but Dumbed-Down is insulting.

gg

I have a friend who uses this for basically everything, games and in real life.

I understand it's good manners in StarCraft (and he is a huge StarCraft player) but I just interpret it is an insult in basically every other game that doesn't have it as part of its meta lexicon just because it feels so condescending.

Especially in real life, saying gg in real life is like saying "LOL" in real life, it's meaningless in vocal form. Show your opponent some actual respect by vocalising a proper sentence or actually laugh at a joke, you socially maladjusted twats.

Kind of a pet-peeve rant, but whatever.

I really don't like "girl gamer." The word gamer doesn't bother me so much, but having to qualify it bothers me. I play games, just like the rest of you. Why does it matter that I'm a girl.

Also, all the nonsense I get when I speak up online is annoying. "Make me a sandwich," "Tits or GTFO," etc.

"GG" Good game.

Sure, in some cases it applies, but most of the time definitely not.
You just completely obliterated me, that was definitely NOT a good game! My paranoid brain is pretty sure people just use it as an insult most of the time.
We have a "Mongolian barbecue" chain out here called Genghis Grill that abbreviates its name to GG. That's what I always read it as, I recommend you do the same v:
That sounds like a great idea.
And delicious.

"Butthurt"

Translates roughly to:

"You're not *angry*, you're just a loser."

(And consider that the source is someone who felt it was worth his time to troll a gaming forum meta bitching about people.)

Whenever anybody infers that any body is a "loser/virgin" who "lives in their parents' basement". ESPECIALLY when some popular culture figure or character says it. It just shows a total ignorance towards how large the video game industry is.

This is very much related:

Gimmick, as in "(insert innovation here) is just a stupid gimmick."

It's a simple, degrading label you can slap on any creative attempt to enhance/expand gaming, which requires no further coherent explanation from the user. A terrific way to dismiss an idea without actually taking time to consider it, sometimes at your own peril.
You shouldn't try to criticize something unless you can actually cite specifically why you think it's bad.

Pronouncing acronyms phonetically.

As in saying Mummorpuger, or saying Roffle, Gitfoe, Stiffoo or similar. Saying "lol" isn't too bad, but that's because I've become accustomed to it.

"Pwn" - It's not a real word, that's all I'm going to say
"noob" - It just sounds dumb. Besides gamers just throw it around like it's some kind of big insult to be called that.
"epic" - I do not think this word means what gamers think it means.
"realism" - Realism =/= fun
"boycott" - I do not think gamers even have the slightest clue what this word means.

It really irritates me when people spell out acronyms when they are speaking. I have a friend that I play DOTA 2 with occasionally, and he insists on saying "Dee Oh Tee Ay" in person. Same with League of Legends. He says "El Oh El." And yes, he even did it with the "S.T.A.L.K.E.R" series, the one time we talked about it. I don't bring it up when people do it, but it just bothers me for some reason.

Kind of the opposite of this, but also I agree with this at the same time. Depends on the acronym.
