I can't really think of any off the top of my head. I find it very easy to pronounce most words after simply reading them once or twice over and saying them in my head. Though I know I've encountered words I just couldn't figure out. Usually on a packaging for food or drink. D< Why is this shit in my foodstuffs? Though I do have a bit of an odd habit of elongating my S sounds. Ssoundss. xD
I get the opposite, if i keep saying the word over and over even at normal speed I mess up the word and start to believe it's not real.

"vase"...people nag me no matter how I say it! Is it like "vayze" or "vahze"? I have no idea! Make up your minds people!!
It's vahze. I've always had a weird ability to pronounce words correctly, particularly names. People will look at a name and say they can't pronounce it, I'll say it and say it perfectly. The biggest shock is people who live in Texas, Florida, California, who think that Jorge is pronounce George. And I'm about as far removed from Mexican culture in the US as you can be. The only thing that gives me problems are Vietnamese and Chinese names. Do you pronounce it new-yen, or neu-yen, or nu-in, or shin-sheng, or zin-sheng, or zen-shang, or shen-zhang, or sen-jang, etc... Always seems to vary between the person as well. Damn j's, x's, y's, and z's.

It's because I enunciate. I rip the words into their syllables and if it's a one syllable word I go off the prefix/suffix. It's also how I define words. If I can't figure out how to define it in context I use prefixes and suffixes to figure out what it LIKELY means. I'm not always right though. D:

I am extremely proud of the fact that I recently managed to pronounce the word Popocatépetl (mountain in mexico) after three years of trying.

well, this is a name ut when my cousin was born my aunty named him ruaridh. except, as she was living in Canada, we learned this via email.

it's pronounced "roory", but for the love of me I can't understand why.

I have a tendancy to say Hopstipal and Tuigar from time to time

I'm Canadian so apparently I cannot pronounce "about." Don't get me wrong, I think I pronounce it just fine, but according to my yankee buddies on vent it comes out aboot, just like the stereo type says...

it's sad really...
