"vase"...people nag me no matter how I say it! Is it like "vayze" or "vahze"? I have no idea! Make up your minds people!!
"Vayze" is american retarded-english, like "aluminum". In proper english, its "Vahze"...and aluminIum!
LEAVE AMERICA ALONE!

On topic, I have a terrible stutter, especially with ls and ws. Five years of speech lessons didn't do shit...

A mate of mine pronounces the name of the game "Trivial Pursuit", as "Trimial Shmirpoot".

Don't ask me why, that's just the closest she can get to pronouncing it right.

When I was a kid, my family visited Washington state, and for some reason, everyone was convinced I was mispronouncing Mt. Rainier. They thought it sounded like I was saying "Mountain Rainier" instead of "Mount Rainier". But seriously, if you say it even semi-quickly, it's hard not to find an 'N' sound escaping between the two words. It must be something to do with how your mouth forms the 'R' sound after making the 'T' sound.

I've never understood the American pronunciation of "Antarctica". Americans pronounce it An-art-ica, where the correct pronunciation is
Ant-arc-tic-a.

It's like they start the word then completely lose interest in the middle.
